Sybella felt the unmistakeable grip of the Force pull at her. She cursed, blindly reaching for something to stall her movement, but the compulsion was too strong for her to deter. A heavy, sinking sensation came over her. She recognised it well, as it often manifested during moments of mortal danger. Heart in her throat, Sybella grimly anticipated what was to follow; if she could not wholly avoid, then at least she might be able to mitigate the fall out.

Coming within an arm’s length of the Sith, Sybella reached out and gripped onto the body of her enemy. This was done partly out of the desperation, but also (mildly) out of spite. With her fingers gripped tightly upon the dark woman’s shoulder’s, the Jedi would then jostle with it. Sybella may be in the line of fire but she was determined that they share the impact. Whether through hoisting herself, or throwing her weight, even a fraction was enough to turn and twist their footing. The blaster bolts meant for the chest would strike at both of their upper arms, whilst the shots aimed for the legs would clip at a thigh or calf.

Sybella gave a cry as intense surges of heat and energy made their impact. Burning, searing pain jarred her entire left side, the power of switch almost knocking her off balance. The agony she felt was a sobering one. If she could find any source of comfort, she hoped it would be in the mutual suffering of her opponent.

Then there was a flash of red.

With ruthless precision, the stranger’s scarlet blade slashed shallowly across the upper area of Sybella's chest; though the sizzling heat of the energy blade seared her flesh, all that escaped Sybella’s lips was a gasp of pain. She was no stranger to the sting of a saber but this, by far, was the grievous afflicted on her. The air within her lungs seized for a moment, leaving her winded and robbed. Time seemed to slow and it was only then Sybella got a close look at her attack - not that there was much to really see, considering they hid their face behind a mask of anonymity.

Death, however, did not come. Those not familiar with lightsabers often thought a cut meant a mortal wound; this, however, was not always the case. The sheer heat of the blade actually cauterised the wounds it dealt, meaning there was little actual blood lose. Limbs could be taken clean off, and prosthetic could be made to the replace them. Catastrophic injuries, however, were not so simple.

Instinctively, Sybella’s hands clutched at her chest; it was of little reprieve however as soon enough she was tossed away. She tumbled and rolled (seemingly lifeless) into haze of the gas. The stunted, halting of her breathing thankfully meant she did not yet inhale the gas.

Her main priority, however, was the blistering wound carved across her chest. Digging her fingers harshly into the flesh, the Jedi tried to muster something of the Force, anything of it, and pour it into her burning injury. She wouldn’t be able to heal it, not right now, as she was. At best, she hoped to keep herself numb. Wide, wild eyes gazed about though she wasn’t quite sure what to search for; the stunning gas was thick, like mist, obscuring some of her visibility. Only shadows were visible - on one side of the field of gas, there was a figure standing with a red saber, and on the other side, there were two (presumably) crouched persons. Gritting her teeth, Sybella kicked at the ground; the motion, however, was enough to interrupt her focus.

Maddening agony ruptured forth once again and, oddly enough, it fuelled her. Awash with adrenaline, or perhaps something more, Sybella managed to claw herself out of the field of stunning gas. Her lungs, much like the rest of her chest, were ablaze. The first thing she did when clear was take a sharp, deep breath of clean, clear air.

Kotii thought he saw an opening and had fired twice. The Mandalorian's two pulse-wave bolts would dangerously come close to disabling both of the Sith’s legs. Even a glancing blow from a heavy blaster bolt would not be easily ignored. The badger would not be surprised by the Sith evading damage entirely, but the chance of her deflecting the bolts back offensively was highly unlikely due to her own split focus. "Sybella!" He yelled knowing what was inevitable and witnessed the sight of the crimson energy blade slice the Jedi.

The stunning mist that filled the chamber was an ever present threat the dark sider would have to contend with for each moment she stayed inside its cloud. When Sybella's body was sliced he was furious but not flatfooted and ducked back behind the safety of his protective terminal. The Jedi would fly over the Mandalorian and past his position without impacting him. There was a good chance Sybella was dead but he had other immediate priorities with the Sith present. Now it was just Vyr and him.

Black Hand would not let up and moved from cover to keep the Sith within maximum lethal range of his weapons and fired twice more at a different angle from Vyr now that the Sith was minus a shield. The mysterious woman’s torso would be his first target and her head the second as she began to retreat. Both would feel the heavy impact of the pulse wave blaster if she dared to block with her lightsaber or worse if she took a shot directly. As he moved, the dar'manda's right hand pulled his second blaster from his disguise and readied to double the amount of danger headed for the assailant. The separate angles the two not!firefighters fired from coupled with the caliber of their aim and weapons would be difficult for the dark master opposing them.

Vyr remained behind cover as Sybella’s body flew over the terminal. Peering over the terminal, he spotted Tiamat retreat and exit the stasis chamber to avoid the gas.

Ducking down again, he holstered his blasters, removed his gloves and tore away at the lower sleeves of his disguise. This revealed his two wrist gauntlets. He readied his gauntlets as quickly as he good.

Waiting for Kotii to fire his shots, one at her torso and the other at her head, Vyr leaned over the terminal and fired a wrist rocket towards the area near Tiamat’s feet. Diverting or stopping the fast-moving rocket would require concentration, which would further test her focus. Once the rocket was fired, Vyr would again duck behind the terminal.

Pain radiated up and down her left side, but the woman was seeped in the darkside; the shock of pain, the sudden despair, and coupled with a prison of chaos, it was the perfect ingredients to a fine wine for Tiamat and she was drinking every drop. She hissed through her teeth with each breath behind her mask, having shown no interest in sticking around as she went the way she came, saber still ignited but it seemed the mandalorians who were there to rescue the Jedi were still interested in getting the last say on this encounter.

One jumped over the terminal and Tiamat turned hearing his boots hit the floor. She was at least out of range of the smog from the grenade, and she snapped her palm forward, growling from the pain and bringing debris from which the Jedi threw at her earlier to protect herself. The power of the bolts ricochet off and she dropped the make-shift shield, letting out a yell as the Force twisted to her will creating a shimmering violet barrier erected within a meter before the not!firefighters who stood just a couple meters apart as the second guy popped out with his wrist rockets and fired. The remaining blaster bolts if fired would hit the barrier, but more importantly the two wrist rockets would meet their premature end and impact the barrier.

Tiamat would release the barrier once the rockets exploded against it, feeling the tingling sensation of the impact through her fingertips and up her arms, causing her to stumble back toward her exiting. The woman would go on the defense, and with the range of the not!firefighters and the rockets exploding, it would hopefully disorient them long enough for her to disappear. Gritting her teeth, each step was agonizing, tiring, but she was alert, Tiamat would leave the stasis hall entirely.

Kotii's face contorted into an expression of anger and aggression. He wanted to chase the Sith and violently kill them. He watched as his blaster bolts were blocked by the makeshift debris field and an incorporeal shell blocking his friend's rocket. The explosion from Vyr' wrist rocket caused him to flinch but he was safe from its dangerous effects. It was enough of an opening for the dark sider to take advantage of and she swiftly turned and ran out of sight.

The disguised Mandalorian slowed his chase after the Sith only as he came towards the hall. But by then she was bolting and cutting off the man's line of sight on her. His mission was not to hunt Sith so he resisted the urge to hunt the assassin. The man's shoulder rose and fell as his heart was beating a mile a minute. The echoes of the prison's status echoed up the hall and activity projected from the stolen guard's commlink.

Turning back, he saw the downed figure of Sybella. Hidden by his tinted visor was a look of concern and the man ran quickly to the fallen Jedi. He dared not touch her at first, needing to get an assessment of her injures or risk making it worse. "Sybella!" He said her name hoping to hear her voice. "Don't be dead. Don't be dead." He repeated the plea and began his best attempt at first aid.

The man knew the Serennian was resilient. She had shown an aptitude for self-healing on the Trandoshan hunting moon but this was a different scenario. Having been drugged, sustained heavy damage, the Jedi would not be able to heal herself. <"We need to get her back to the ship. We need to get out of here."> He stated the obvious to Vyr as he switched back to Mando'a. The badger was trying to focus on still completing the mission and surviving this. It might take the two of them to carry her out unless they could find a way to carry her. Thankfully lightsabers and blasters did not lead to blood loss but there were other complications that would be life threatening if the Mandalorian duo did not work fast.

Searing pain conintued to rip across Sybella's chest. Traces of coagulated blood painted the palms of her hands, warm and sticky, as the unmistakable scent of burning flesh mingled with the metallic tang of ozone. Her breaths came in ragged gasps, each inhale an effort, each exhale a struggle. Every heartbeat sent waves of agony radiating from the gash, a relentless reminder of her mortality.

As the world around her blurred, the cacophony of battle faded to a distant hum. The familiar energy of the Force, once a constant companion, now felt distant and faint, like a whisper barely heard. Sybella's thoughts swirled in a chaotic maelstrom — memories of her training, battles fought, and allies lost. Images flashed before her mind's eye, faces of fellow Jedi, moments of triumph, and bittersweet reunions.

With clenched teeth, she forced her mind to focus. The darkness, like an insidious tide, crept at the edges of her vision. The tendrils of unconsciousness beckoned with promises of relief, of release from the torment she endured. Yet, Sybella clung to consciousness with the tenacity of a wounded predator refusing to succumb. Someone was calling out her name. Latching on to that voice, the wounded woman used it as a type of anchor in order to keep herself conscious. With one final surge of willpower, she whispered her plea to the Force, a whispered prayer to guide her through this final ordeal.

Reaching out blindly, her fingers came into contact with the familiar sight of Kotii’s visor. With fleeting feeling, her hand then fell limp, smearing some of her blood on the side of the Mandalorian’s helmet.

“There is….no death” she raised, “only….only the Force.”

The impact of the wrist rocket’s explosion caused Vyr to brace himself against the terminal. When he turned to look at where the attacker had been standing, he saw her retreat from the chamber.

Any relief from the attacker’s retreat was dampened by the condition of the Jedi he was being paid to help retrieve. He wasn’t there to bring back a corpse. Kotii’s distress was clear, and it was obvious they needed to act fast.

I know,” he replied calmly to Kotii. It wasn’t often he used his own language these days. He leaned forward and helped Kotii to pick up and carry the Jedi. He checked the entrance to the stasis chamber, wary of the attacker returning. “Shut up, you’re not dying,” he stated bluntly, trying to offer some sort of encouragement to the Jedi.

Kotii saw Sybella clinging to life and he had hope she might live. Her hand print marked the firefighter disguise with a red handprint before moving away. The Mandalorian wearing it did not wipe it off but instead kept his focus and carried the incapacitated Jedi.

The prison was in chaos. The work the Mandalorians had done coupled with the sabotage from the Sith allowed the trio to pass without much difficulty. The Wookiee and other prisoners had rampaged a route towards the rendezvous hangar. Nobody paid two firefighters any mind as they moved an unconscious wounded prisoner to safety.

While the two Mandalorians would look like rescuers doing their job, they were really aiding in their own escape. Guards were desparatly deciding between fleeing to safety or standing at their posts. Regardless of their choice other prisoners were released to make sure they did not die. The guards moved to try to control these emergency transfers so they would not stop the infiltrators from exfiltrating.

"This place is about to blow. Save yourselves!" He yelled to the prison guards. He did so in as convincing of a voice as possible, using every ounce of emotion and tension built up until this point. "GO!" Smoke and fumes had long ago been allowed to spill into other chambers thanks to Tiamat's machinations and the technicians working at the prison could not find a work around in time to contain the fires or the prisoners. They abandoned their posts and headed for the escape pods and evacuation transports.

A dozen prisoners, including the wookiee still mostly wet and wearing a wetsuit filtered into the hangar. The guards were too concerned with their own lives to dare face a wookiee and the possible horde of prisoners that followed. "Find an escape pod or follow us." He gestured his head in the direction of the A-Z-Z-3 that still sat unoccupied, waiting for them. <"Last chance to get out of here. This way."> He switched to Huttese. Evidently some of them understood because it was not long before every seat on the light freighter had a body occupying it.

Closing the ship, the disguised Mandalorian powered the ship up and prepared to take off. He made sure to lock the cockpit door just in case any of the recently freed prisoners got any ideas. The bulky and strange looking ship rotated to face the exit of the prison before its engines flared brightly and it sped out of the asteroid station. Soon they would be out of the system and in hyperspace. The class 1 hyperdrive would help get Sybella quickly to Rancor Squadron where Kotii knew they had medical facilities that could heal her. "Just hang in there." This was going to be a long trip.
