Shen Tunemay - Head General Researcher - CARD.
You know, back on Coruscant and Neimodia, they called me a lunatic. Said I was 'unethical'. Whatever kind of drivel that is. My experiments are for personal gain, that's granted. Everything someone of my race does is for profit though! Anyone with half a brain cell would realise this. I used to lure little gullible medical students into my lab with promise of medical demonstrations and money to be my guinea pigs. Many of them accepted, believe it or not! I suppose my set-up looked professional enough.
They never came out. None of my test subjects survived, sadly. They had such interesting organic structures, especially the furry ones. If only I was to replace their brains with one of my cybernetic, engineered ones, then they would be mine to command. Slaves to my suggestion. It would be perfect! But, just as I felt I was coming close to a breakthrough, they rooted me out.
I'm not one to put my own head on the chopping block, so I fled. Packed up my vital medical equipment and left. Bang, off I went to Corellia. The Republic never found me, actually. I blended in, just another greedy Neimodian looking for a break in the galaxy.
That's when CARD found me. Of course, I'm wary of shady organisations - I was part of one! But I accepted, on promise I could have all of their scientific equipment and resources I should require. Surprisingly, I was in. I began to experiment immediately, attempting to bio-engineer a race of mindless android drones. In a fairer, less 'ethical' galaxy such work in my field would be accepted as a major step forward! But no, the Republic seems to find it adequate to commit genocide but not to make a race of soldiers incapable of feeling pain and capable ending of wars quickly.
I am not going to lie, either. As I said earlier, I am only in this for the money. I don't care about how wins a kriffin' war, as long as I don't die and I make some money out if it. CARD helped me achieve my aims, and soon I was promoted to Head of General Research. I know have a team of capable scientists at my disposal. Soon enough, we'll get a furry specimen in and I can dissect his brain to find out how it ticks. Then I'll re-engineer one using synthetic materials and replacing the major nerve cortex, plus a minor tweak to the functionality and sensory nerves. It's quiet simple really. Anyway...
Eh, I'm not really too sure what I was talking about back there. I tend to ramble, and lost track of my conversations. To be quiet frank; my work is more important than composing some kind of touching inner monologue. I'm off to create drones!
