Shynok is a natural leader, and he is also very intelligent. He is very skilled in battle, having trained in ranged and melee weapons alike. Shynok is not very skilled with friendships, however. He is also not very good at understanding emotions and empathy, although he is learning.

HISTORY
Shynok had a good family who were willing to teach him many things. He grew up with them, living a normal childhood. When he was 12, however, all that would change. One day, his father told him that he was force sensitive. Shynok was curious, and tried to learn all he could about the force. For four years he studied whatever he could about the mysterious power. Unfortunately, his studies were cut off by his father, who, while he admired his son's desire for knowledge, needed him to have a job to support his family.
Shynok, after a rigorous examination, got a job as a senatorial aide. After two years, he resigned and went to join the Aderi Order. After a brief time, Shynok left and joined the Ospions.

Personally, I don't see a problem with it so long as they don't become Jedi (Urai said his people don't join light or dark, so no worries). The race may be powerful, but they are canon.

It's not really a different situation than having a Jedi Knight with a lightsaber and Force powers. At first, everyone screams "GODMOD!!!" but they can be very balanced in the RP, as we've all seen. Even with inexperienced RPers.

PS: And the reason they regenerate is also possibly because they are reptavians.

We do have quite a few things to discuss in the staff board, so you can't expect an answer to something as minor as this immediately. Expect it by the end of today, though.
