We have breaking news here at the Imperial Patriot, have the Sith single-handedly solved the galaxy's Killik problem? As the Insectoid threat rages across known space, fear continues to fester and grow throughout the Empire. Multiple small-scale attacks have been reported already, with one major offensive against Korriban being only the most recent of the Killik's daring march through the galaxy. For weeks now, many have wondered if there was any hope to be found, if there was any chance of beating this seemingly impossible foe.

Well, we might have just found that hope. Sith Master Sol Kenuk has recently made a public announcement about his findings into a cure for the Joined. Many of us have lost friends, family, and even distant acquaintances to the Killik Joining that, up until this point, has been claiming the minds of those we know and love, stealing them away as slaves to the Insectoid hivemind. However, the Sith's most recent report indicates that this loss may not be as entirely permanent as initially believed.

The Sith went on to explain that the Joining process of the Killiks causes severe damage to the corpus callosum, an important part of the lower brain which acts as a bridge between both hemispheres, sending the body's signals between both halves of the mind. According to Sol Kenuk, the Joining works by altering this part of the brain, replacing the body's natural signals with those of the Hivemind's, overriding our own control in place of their own.

We have reports that medical personnel from across the galaxy have already begun synthesizing a potential cure with the information that the Sith have provided. However, one question remains. While such a breakthrough discovery by the Sith could be utilized to save Joined across the galaxy, returning lost ones to family and friends, some are concerned that opposing governments will attempt to undermine the benevolent efforts of the Sith as a means of destabilizing the Empire. Indeed, many express suspicions that the cure itself could be sabotaged to discredit the Sith who discovered it in the first place.

Despite initial concerns, there seem to be some in the galaxy that are willing to utilize the information supplied in good faith. Should they succeed, there can be no doubt about it; the Sith might have just saved the galaxy. When your lost family and friends are returned to their homes, cured of their parasitic Hivemind, we at the Imperial Patriot hope that they will recognize the warm-hearted actions of both the Sith, and the Empire.

"Benevolent? Good faith? Warm-hearted?" Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl couldn't believe what he was reading. "Yes, those are the first phrases that come to mind when I think about the Sith Empire" the Senator said, his voice dripping sarcasm. "Whomever wrote this must've done so with a blaster to the head."
