Coruscant.jpg

Skysitter Restaurant, one of the most exclusive restaurants on Coruscant. The towering spiral was located near the Nicandra Counterrevolutionary Signalmen's Memorial Building in the Ambassadorial Sector of the Senate District. The behemoth restaurant was famous for its panoramic vista, since the building rotated on its spire.

Skysitter wasn't just famous, it was expensive. Only the wealthiest of Senators ate there. Or had good connections. While Empress Cape Es Cade, Senator of Cinnagar, also known as Koros Major, could afford the bill at the Skysitter Restaurant, she found otherways around it. Cinnagar exported several goods to the Skysitter Restaurant and advertised it through the ecumopolis of Cinnagar. These had earned Es Cade quite a few "discounts".

However, Es Cade wasn't alone. Normally she invited a guest with her, who generally happened to be a CARD agent; Sonam was an occasional guest. However, this time she was accompanied by a few Senators, Jedi, a few guards, and even the Supreme Chancellor. Es Cade knew that with the approaching war, things would become hectic around Coruscant, so she decided to invite a few to enjoy the peace and quiet while it lasted for their lunch break.

Es Cade noticed that several holovids were playing the interview of Banik Kelrada and repeating Hoshiko's announcement. Being played over and over was beginning to vex her.

A waiter distracted her from the holovids by bringing her a plate, the salad taht served as her appetizer.

"I would like to thank all for coming," thanked Es Cade.

Senator Ventrue had eagerly accepted the invitation to the luncheon, always happy to have a chance to enjoy the finer things. Skysitter was certainly on the list of finer things, though easily affordable to someone from not only his family, but his standing as the senator of the largest producer of military grade ships in the galaxy. He smiled as he entered and one of his 4 guards took point asking where the meeting was to be held keeping the senator a fair pace a way from the crowd. After learning the proper tables he was escorted and the guards fanned out to their stations, various other tables nearby where they took their seats and continued to blend in, as it were as the rest of the people arrived.

"Good evening." He said nodding to Es Cade. "Always a pleasure." his smile widened before turning his attention to the wines list and waiting for everyone else to settle in.

Supreme Chancellor Hisako Hoshiko took a seat besides the Kuat Senator and offered a soft smile. Hiding her fatigue was not something she had done well. The past few weeks had been brutal on the Pantoran, more so the last 24 hours. She tried her best keep it masked however.

Without much though she reached for the fine stitched cloth and placed it over her lap before scooting herself in. Hisako had little time to prepare for this gathering, having rushed to change into a fine black cocktail dress and a traditional Pantoran headress made of a simple bronze and several corsaca gems. She hardly managed to put it on before being whisked out the door. The establishment itself was not unfamiliar to her, she came here often, many times calling them to cater to the Chancellors penthouse when Clara was over, as to not blow the secret.

She missed Clara, even with all the dealings of war, and her double identity for several covert situations she herself had undertaken, her mind always returned to the Sephi. It had been a while since she was last heard from. Hisako knew Clara's life as an agent would be busy, yet it was unlike her to be silent this long. The Chancellor didn't care if the golden haired woman was an agent, or a member of social privilege, she didn't care about any of these issues one may have assumed when considering the pairs involvement. Hisako just missed Clara, her silly, sometimes quietly whimsical Clara.

Snapping her mind back to the moment, the cerulean skinned woman offered another smile and nod as she made eye contact with every individual about her in acknowledgment. Even members of the blue guard who stood positions nearby. She was thankful for there presence given the resent situations.

" I apologize in advance if I am less than animated"
she stated, a slight giggle under her soft voice " It has been a rather...eventful past few hours"

The Queen of the Core, and the Center of the Galaxy, Coruscant was the nexus of all intergalactic matters, from as mysterious as the Deep Core to as far reaching as the Outer Rim. Nicodemus however, had largely only considered Coruscant as Triple Zero, the center of military matters of the Galactic Republic. What time he spent within the planet's system was occupied by strategic meetings and defense matters.

However, on this day, he was invited to a different sort of meeting. A luncheon at the Skysitter with his 'favorite' group of people; the politicians. Senators, specifically. Nicodemus had long appreciated that the Imperial Family of Corellia had not designated that one of their own represent them. He had little patience or tolerance for politics. It was only because the Secretary of Defense, Autumn, being unavailable that Fenix was assigned deputy authorities. And with the authority came other responsibilities; his presence was requested.

Nevertheless, the Skysitter was a reasonable enough place for Nicodemus to tolerate his company more easily. The rotating design, not to mention the culturally diverse cusine and almost theatrical scenery of the urban cityscape, were truly a wonder to behold and enjoy. Nicodemus took his seat at a table, and soon thereafter, motioned his own two 'bodyguards' to take their leave. While he knew he would eventually need to interact with the guests on some level, he simply kept silent as the host, Senator Es Cade, thanked everyone for arriving. The sooner the night was over, the better.

“Blue Eagle has entered the building.”

Jard Carrick, Captain of the Senate Guard, entered the Skysitter's waiting area flanked by a guardsman on either side. While they wore their ceremonial attire, Jard wore his armor. They approached the eating area of the upper class resteraunt, and was stopped by a rather nervous Rodian.

“Er,excuse me sir,no weapons are allowed in the Skysitter. I must ask you to leave your weapons here or leave the resteraunt.”

Jard removed his helmet and glared at the Rodian. When being glared at by a 6' 7'' man in armor,it is slightly intimidating. None the less, the Rodian stood his ground. Jard rolled his eyes and spoke.“Senate Guard for table 5,check with your boss if you need confirmation.” with that Jard shoved the Rodian out of the way as he scrambled to check.

There was Blue Eagle at the table, or Chancellor Hisako Hoshiko. He had a bone to pick with her. Approaching the Chancellor, he set his men at parade rest and bent low next to Hisako. “Next time you want dinner, alert my men first. I had to contact your personal guardsmen to find you,ma'am.” he said in a low whisper.

Hisako Half turned her ear to the guard captain and offered a slight nod of apology. The Pantoran had been so rushed she may have neglected to mention it to the Senate guard, or inform her aids to inform them of the planned event. " we were rushed, between matters of state, and the media blitz regarding that, there was little time" she stated, allowing a half smile to touch her stained lips as she attempted to ease the guards frustration with some light humor. " besides, If you miss your reservation time in this place they charge your voucher heavily enough to buy a small speeder as penalty"

Jard smirked at the Pantoran's small joke. "I hear you, ma'am." he said quietly. he glanced at the others before looking back the Chancellor. "Enjoy yourself ma'am. You've looked stressed lately." he told her with a concerned look on his face. With that, he straightened up and replaced his helmet. Leaving to do a quick sweep of the resteraunt. He was concerned for his Commander in Chief. She had looked stressed for quite awhile, especially with the new war and these accusations about a secret goverment group called "Sector 13". Jard frowned under his helmet as he checked with the on duty security chief.

"Can I help you, sir?" the chief asked. He was civillian, but Jard was ok with that.

"Why yes you can sir." Jard said, approaching him. "Obviously we have a VIP in the building. There will be a large bonus paid directly to you as long as we can keep the press low on this."

"Yessir!" the man said, saluting him. With that, Jard turned to make a quick sweep of the perimeter.

It seemed that finally Senator Daniel was going to get some time off along with his peers. Of course with the war going on, and with the huge eternal problems within the Republic Daniel knew well that this meeting was not going to be just simply a useless friendly meeting.

Yeah, there was obviously something behind this meeting and that was why Daniel made sure to be present today as usual wearing his elegant suit and looking as charismatic as possible. He also had with him about four armed Coruscanti guards who he asked to stay outside. After all, they were not needed in the presence of the elite senate guards.

"Greetings everyone...it feels great for us to be able to meet outside the Senate Rotunda" Daniel spoke in a friendly tone as he approached the table that the Senators and the Chancellor had gathered around.

With the guests having begun eating, Es Cade stood up.

"I would like to talk to all of you about security," said Es Cade. "The security surrounding the Senate is faltering. We are easy for the pickings." She looked at Jard. "Our Senate Guard is suppose to protect us but they lack the experience. They haven't shown much iniative." Es Cade looked back at her fellow Senators and Supreme Chancellor. "I have grave news. Senator Orion Yar is missing. I tried contacting him, but to no avail. Apparently, he was going to meet with someone pertaining to information about Sector 13. Now, we could go on about how Sector 13 could be involved but I have another question I'd like addressed. Where was the Blue Guard? Why wasn't Orion Yar protected?"

Es Cade played a sigh to gain sympathy from her peers. It was good that most of her peers in attendance were males. All they ever looked at when they looked at her were was her body. Oh, she knew they raped her with their eyes. Impulses drove them. Their emotions dictated them. Thus, she had to use emotions to drive them, to motivate them.

"We need to keep a better eye amongst ourselves. Senators cannot be allowed to just run around to be taken. It looks bad for us. Thus, we need to do something about it." She rose a hand before anyone could protest. "No, I'm not saying we should put everyone in house arrest. What I'm saying is that we need to get a better lock on security. Captain Jard, I'm glad you're here. Normally, the Senate Guard says at the Senate Building. I would like to request security be brought to protect the Senate when they're outside that building. That, or work with the security detail from their planet to prevent a fiasco like this."

"We must also be more careful. The Hutts will stop at nothing to undermine us. And what do we do? We sit around and have dinner parties. How can you know for certain you're not falling into a trap?"

She gave a grin that could make the devil jealous.

"All of the food that has been presented to you, along with your drinks, have been poisoned."

As if expecting trouble from Jard, she rose a hand.

"I'm not serious, thankfully. Nothing's been done to your food. However, I make my point. It is true we don't want to become paranoid like the Hutt Emperor. However, we can't just lax around either. We need to be cautious. Hopefully, this will be a wakeup call to be more cautious. Thank you."

Es Cade sat down.
