Location: Boorka Desilijic Villacs Palace, Hutta Town, Nar Shaddaa.

Nar Shaddass sun beat down on the industrial planet beneath it, as Nor'baal Desilijic Fa'athra gently sprayed himself with scented water and lounged back on his recliner. He was sitting outside the Palace of his Great-Great Uncle - or was that Great-Great-Great Uncle?

Or Thirteenth Cousin?

Nor'baal always found the Desilijic family map to look more like a knot than a tree and decided not to dwell on it. Regardless of their connection, they shared a name, and Boorka had a palace. "His Serene Obesity, Boorka has allowed you use of one of the enclaves in his throne room, great and might Nor'baal. However, his Emmincence requests you wait until the morning. He says that an 'associate' of his boss wishes to see you."

Finally, the Cartels take notice of the might of the Hutts once more!

He grinned from ear to ear as his Gamorreans fanned him ineffectually to cool him in the suns brutal heat. Checking his datapad, he checked the news.

76% AMS Infection Rate.

Preef calls for Hutt Genocide.

Hutts cleansed from Na...

Nor'baal sighed, nothing of interest to read there, here within the tranquil oasis of Boorkas palace, his ship, the Glorious Jewel behind him, the AMS was no concern, strong walls and a shed load of blasters kept them out. Preef? Pah! Why worry about that Rodian upstart - it wasn't like he could send a man here, surely!

Unaware that Boorka had fled the planet several months ago, Nor'baal kicked back, and relaxed.

Well, this had been surprisingly easy to pull off, a few bribes here...a promise of a better job under a legendary gunslinger there...And of course many, maaaany thugs that needed their heads caved in while the others looked away, but with all that in mind, it wasn't very difficult to get a meeting with a Hutt...After all, not many people liked working with Hutts, they were greedy bastards and didn't mind throwing their bodyguards into a rancor pit for fun...The only reason anyone did was because they were filthy rich.

However, some Hutts don't have enough money to protect them from their enemies, specially when their enemies were as powerful and influential as the Zaa Fenn. Gareth Gin, the blind Matukai and trusted scoundrel of Preef Callo slowly but surely made his way towards Nor'Baal, between those that he bribed and the fact that he didn't carry any armor or blaster weaponry with him meant that he only had to knock the lights of a couple dumb Gamorreans to get there, smiling at the Hutt that had been tricked to parlay with the Zaa Fenn's White Lion.

Wearing his typical urban clothes and matukai gauntlets, Gareth put his hands inside his pockets as he let out a surprised whistle "Damn, for being in a ruined planet you are livin' the life, ain't that right, oh great Nor'baal? I guess the whole infected thing goin' on barely affects you Hutts, always hiding in palaces like this one, am I right?" Well, let's see how the Hutt wanted to respond to the whole situation first, Gareth wasn't above playing with his prey, he didn't really like the Hutts even before the infection came along, just gave him a legitimate reason to bury them.

The sun was as blinding as it was broiling, beating down upon the land and any who dared to dwell upon it. Some took the heat better than most. Others sweated from every pore.

Jon Dromon didn’t put much thought into what end of the spectrum he straddled. It didn’t matter. What mattered was what waited for him at the center.

The sun was hot, the sun was bright, but beside its light were shadows cast, and that’s where the bounty hunter hid.

“Who’s hiding, huckleberry?”

The voice drifted out of the shadow before the speaker did, emerging from behind Nor’baal’s makeshift throne upon the dirt, temporary though it was. Somebody had to watch the Hutt’s back, after all.

Jon looked the part, sporting boots and cargo pants, a long-sleeved shirt beneath a tactical vest, and a hat atop the head. It was tempting to wear one with a ridiculously wide brim, particularly given the setting, but this bounty hunter had settled for a grey field cap. It was enough.

It wasn’t all. The blaster pistol at his hip was not at all hidden, nor the Yeti mug in his hand. The coffee was hot but the heat didn’t matter.

“We see you, you see us…” Jon looked the big maned man up and down, taking note of his eyes. “...Well, more or less, anyway…”

The Hutt sneered as the 'White Lion' made himself known, followed by Dromon - a Duros Nor'baal considered in his employ. "Damn, for being in a ruined planet you are livin' the life, ain't that right, oh great Nor'baal? I guess the whole infected thing goin' on barely affects you Hutts, always hiding in palaces like this one, am I right?"

“Who’s hiding, huckleberry?”

<Ho! Ho! Ho!> Nor'baals thick laugh cracked through the air as Dromon confronted the White Lion. Nor'baal adored confrontation, indeed, he thrived in it. Moving from his recliner, he drew up to his not inconsiderable height, and approached the lion, standing a mere foot from him, his great bulk planted firmly before Gareth.

<Haku koose bu Saa Fenn bai manpanh cay bu lhonu Nor'baal? Woy Jee banka wa chaweka bai doth woy?> he asked.

Sizing the man up, Nor'baal backed down slightly and waved for his droid to bring forward a tray of drinks for his visitor to enjoy. <Mee kotka gee woy... jobabenu joday du bu dotkenkala kouciukoee kanoh. Haku wohot goo sayey see mi?>/abbr]

If Gareth had real eyebrows, one of them would've risen after the Hutt approached him like that, his hands cam out of his pockets and he was at one moment so, so close to do some serious damage to him as he got within arm's reach but...The Miralukan instead let him do his thing, interested on hearing the bunch of bullshit the Hutt could probably spew from that gargantuan mouth they used to eat more than a starving Rancor.

His head turned towards the Duros bodyguard as the droid offering the drinks approached, a confident smile on his face as the droid with the drinks approached the former Miralukan "Ah, you noticed I am Zaa Fenn? Good, then we can skip a few parts of this conversation, mhm?" And with that said, his fist suddenly hit the head of the bartender droid with his Matukai Gauntlets ready, the head of the droid now lacking a face as there was a big dent in its place. Sparks coming from the droid as Gareth grabbed the tray with the drinks before the droid hit the ground and deactivated.

"Well, as you can probably expect, Preef sent me here because he wants your head, just like he wants the heads of every single other Hutt in the galaxy, Nor'baal." Gareth left the tray on the floor safely, grabbing one of the many drinks in there, killing the droid was a message, but wasting drinks was not something he wanted to do "Yet you're so casual about all of this...Is it because you put your faith in our friend here? I can already tell he is of better quality than the pigs I had to break before gettin' here...But it's that all there is to it?" Gareth asked referring to the Duros, his white tattoed eyes staring in their direction as he still had a smile on his face, while he was not lowering his guard, he was confident, that's for sure.

<Jee hatkocanh kouoe bai neu haku uba woy bai mee kouocea whao tah doth bu heee uba basa bai mee bahia.> Nor'baal laughed at the mans display of aggression, comfortable enough in himself to not need to resort to such measures to make a statement of his own power. Sure, the man worked for Preef - but the legendary gunslinger, he was not. Nor'baal settled into his recliner and reached for his pipe as he looked at the man again, making him wait for his answer.

Nor'baal was many things, but in this instance, intimidated was not one of them.

<Preef ah lhonu yae, an fa doth vehpobaee tee-tocky kaee ceabwhoma bu Yih gainlei don kauoha. In ting kuna kee gee cuee bekiola du nem whao da cahtana, gee doth uba, nobata? He ignored the man's comment about his trusted Duros friend, and instead focused on the real matters at hand.

<Nobata yae, doth ba kantii- dooo Preef gee dayan see kankahuesa. Hee toupee mi, wohot Preef wamma uba ritke bai sethacs bimhee droida, mo bai woy bargon? Whao fa doth bu wahca, in ting goo wamma uba wa kaae bai kiuke, whao fa doth bu jotke, jot ten babau haku bu lhonu Preef gee bai mo.>

Maybe that little stunt by Blindy would have given some amateur bodyguard cause to flinch or flex, but all it made Jon want to do was take a sip from his coffee on account of a droid carrying drinks.

Supposed to impress us? He wondered after the punch. Guy’s a schlong but he’s got a formidable gauntlet. Wouldn’t mind taking it, along with the arm it’s attached to. That threat, though, was as of right now as empty as that little punch across a bartender droid’s face.

If nothing else could be said for Blindy he was brave enough to flex his muscle in this particular setting.

Those who wanted the heads of Hutts weren't really Jon’s business, but his business was getting paid by this particular Hutt and that couldn't happen if Nor’baal’s head ended up mirroring the droid’s.

‘Better quality’ was a compliment that almost went entirely over the Duros’ head, were it not for the field cap. You’ve no idea.

Nor did. He also had an idea of Preef Callo and so did Jon Duros. Preef does not nod first before he draws that infamous Peacemaker of his...no he doesn’t...neither does he punch server droids for a living.

Gareth wasn't really surprised by the lack of fear in the Hutt's heart, it was always like that when it came to Hutts, they were either begging for their lives or looking at everyone else as if they were superior in comparison, should've seen that one coming, he probably should've just shoved his arm in the Hutt's eye until he reached his brain...That being said, he did notice something interesting.

"Well, you're right, I'm no Preef Callo...But you are no Durr the Hutt either" Gareth took a couple steps forward with a smile on his face, most of his attention on the bodyguard just in case "You are not a particularly important Hutt, the Rodian has important things to do, can't go around shooting at every single Hutt himself, at least not the kind of slug that could be taken down by people he trusts" Gareth stated, now being the one taking a good "look" at the Hutt and sizing him up "So, sorry for the Peacemaker not blowing your head off, I like it close and personal"

However, while the Miralukan got closer to the Hutt, he stopped just before he had enough reach to fullfill that violent statement "Usually a Hutt would have told his hired gun to shoot me already, but you are veeery insistent on Preef wanting to have a deal with you" Yeah, he really understood Hutt manners by now, insisting on "making a deal" with Preef Callo meant "Oh god please don't try to kill me, get me on his good side instead, I really don't want to die by your hand or his blaster in the future!"...Or at least he was pretty sure that was what he meant.

"Right now, Preef only offers you Hutts violence. If you really don't want this to end in a fight, it's not a matter of what he can offer you...It's a matter of what can you offer him to become a exception to his Hutticide rule, you understand that, Nor'baal?" Of course, Gareth knew Preef said all Hutts should be killed and he himself didn't like the slugs...But hearing him out could result in profit...He doubted it, but he knew of a way to make sure Preef would be happy either way, for now he would just listen to the Hutt's response.

Even Nor'baal had to admit that this 'Gareth' had vohti. Yet, he was not impressed by it - after all, what did a non-Hutt have to be proud about? Their lot was to serve and to find as much joy in that honour as possible. He grumbled as the man suggested he was not 'a particularly important Hutt' and then scowled as the man threatened him directly.

<Beuanka> he smarted <Nor'baal ah kouoioy Yih, dan bai bo kankahuesa an dan bai doth pateessa- um kenog, tah jeejee tee caie cahcata.> he chortled. Nor'baal was unimpressed by the man's threats, and - confident his guard would interject if things took a turn for the worse - proceeded with his expressions to that effect.

<Jee doth gahkesa tah doth wa lumpa see yanee, tee wa shakedown cay wa dopa- dondichola dhopa. Jee koee tee doth da koupihoziua uueca pisua, Durr, um Jee catkiua nobata danwohoba doi uba.
>
he yowled, rising to his full height, his chest showing the clear sign of muscles beneath his thick skin as he spread his hands wide. <Jee gee dokoi che tytung Jee catau, killee che fa, chacasa, konzasa an ninbasa mah kouocea, an Jee nah doth cohai joniu bai cay wa bukee see mee bkoha>

He lathered his grotesque tongue across his lips as he eyed up the feline morsel before him, and smile <Um yaee, cahwahh koudanesa bai yanee. Hee jot mi woy mah mo bai Preef puohe. Bu Yih gainlei gee cahba juju monba, t'chuta du juju bahpola an wanta che juju kouocea bai chateua. Tah doth tee bu heee dee Yih, jeejee lwaa doth doptkee heee du bu Yoskah, paknee ata haku doth tee. Whao Preef sayey ba kankahuesa du bu Yih, bo coo hatkocanh yoieu bai joday, an dokanu bu Benbepoka, hee goo gee bo du Nor'baal.>

With that, he turned his focus away from Gareth, and looked to his yacht. Backing away from the man, he thumbed his sled and it rose from the ground. He began to glide toward the yacht, waving for his guard to follow.

<Mah droida hatkocanh cahla mah yauashoce cay uba. Jeejee Yih jiu bu janse jiu, hee bleeu mi joppay Preef gee woy bo saleu.> he chuckled, throwing back one last comment <Uba gee yoieu pisua bukee.>

Couple steps forward—Blindy executed that much—couple steps backward—nah, not happening.

Blindy had the right of it as far as Nor’baal being a not particularly important Hutt. There was no escaping that truth.

The closer Blindy crept, the closer Jon’s hand crept toward the handle of his pistol at his hip, and there it stayed.

There was also no escaping the truth that, despite Preef Callo’s ‘Hutticide’, the Rodian could use a Hutt ally to achieve the same damn thing.

He could also use a Duros ally but, well, he better pay more than the Hutt does.

That Hutt. That Nor’baal. That paying hand which promised it all, ten and ten and ten times fold, and then some.

Fail to deliver…
Jon Dromon pondered as he sipped from his YETI. And I’ll feed your fat to your enemies...at a bidding price.

Unfortunately, that payout would not amount to much right now, so ‘long term’ trumped ‘short term’ and here’s your bodyguard.

“That droid is the one whose face you removed, Blindy,” said Jon assuredly. “So here’s a mutual exchange.”

Might cost him his career, might cost him his life, but Jon Dromon didn’t much care.

His pistol flew from his hip, his bolt flew from his pistol, his pistol drew upon Gareth Gin’s (@Versok) cheek and his bolt might just tear a gash across it if the target did not flinch.

Whatever, no matter, try to retaliate to that one and you might just have a killing on your hands.

Otherwise, Jon Dromon would consider debts repaid and depart with his paying hand...but would otherwise hang back if Blindy wanted to dance...

Gareth stood and listened as the Hutt talked and talked and defended his big slug pride as he couldn't seem to understand that, even if he was the one with the money, it wouldn't be useful to him when Preef had turned the whole Outer Rim into a hunting ground for Hutts, many would fall with much more money and influence than him, but alas, the Hutts were prideful creatures.

However, even though the Hutt's entire existence made Gareth feeling like punching something, the more he thought about it...The more ideas he could think of that involved Nor'Baal, ideas he could perhaps sell to Preef to spare the life ot he Hutt, after all, a Hutticide could have one exception if all the others were wiped off the galaxy.

"Y'know, initially this reunion was a trap to kill you...But you've given me a couple ideas, I'll pitch them to Preef, if he likes what you've got to offer, you'll see me again, if not...Well, you'll see me again regardless" Gareth crossed his arms as he turned his head towards the Duros...who would then proceed to leave a mark on Gareth's face...Just like the Duros probably predicted, he didn't even flinch, letting out a cocky smile to bid the bodyguard farewell "And if things don't go the way your boss want...I know I'll have fun at least, hope you don't dissappoint if that's the case." And just after saying that, Gareth would let them go, sure, violence right now would've been quite enjoyable, but he worked for the Zaa Fenn and had to try to get better deals for them.
