“The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown.”
Somehow, one way or another, different people now find themselves on a new and uncharted world. The holonet doesn't reach out here. Ordinary landmarks drew their attention in this unusual place, signs of civilization this far from civilized space. Whatever their motivation, be it greed, curiosity, or simple happenstance, groups have formed to explore.

Humble Town
Green grasses brush gently against cloth on the way, or perhaps gravely and overgrown roads crunch beneath marching boots. No matter one's footwear or manner of dress there was a certain sense of peace in the air. A town was a safe place to be and an excellent source of information when visiting brand a new planet, after all. Ahead on the road, a the first thing to pass by was an opening in a humble wooden fence.

Abandoned Building
On the approach the dilapidated structure seemed ordinary, if slightly out of place so far away from anything else. Tall, widely rectangular, and built of mossy grey brick covered in patches of climbing vines. The windows from a distance appeared dirty, dusty with disuse and yellowed from age, metal bars across their fronts. A bent fence of thick, black iron bars spotted with rust surrounded a wildly overgrown courtyard. Gnarled trees grew twisted in the yard, steadily yellowing leaves falling to gather atop snaking roots that forced their way through the ground until they cracked and broke the courtyard stone.Abandoned Building
Insects chirped and the first hooting of native owls resounded. Night was soon approaching, and such a place would prove a much better shelter than sleeping out in the wilds of unfamiliar territory. It was obvious no one's been there in years and years. And, judging by the greying sky in twilight's waning gleam, rain was on its way.

Crumbling Ruin
Following long and winding roads into the deep woods, a coating of fallen leaves crunching and crackling underfoot, would eventually lead to a kind of clearing. Rays of fading sunlight dappled across the forest floor and danced to the sway of far-reaching branches. The only natural light source, it fell partly upon a structure of solid but cracked stone worn by weather and time carved into a rocky hill. Greenery grew unchecked on every surface, mud and stagnant water gathering in still pools coated in slick algae. Moss and vines crept across what were once mighty pillars, now broken.Crumbling Ruin
Foot-smoothed stairs lead up toward a wide entrance to the structure, no door barring passage inside. Rusty braziers on either side sat empty of flame. Foreign symbols of unknown meaning or purpose, many so worn away as to be nearly illegible, were carved into the outer walls. A single human-sized statue, so weathered as to lack any distinguishing features even on its face, stood atop the hill. What kind of place was this, long ago? Curiosity may lead to an answer.
