Gaba and I are currently in the early stages of a space combat training exercise.
I encourage all Jedi interested in space combat to join, as this will be a good entry level exercise to get your feet wet and familliarise yourselves with how space combat is going to be played here on the forums.
This may also be a good opportunity for us to gauge how members interested in becoming a part of Rogue Wing will perform. From there we will be able to use this to analyse strengths and weaknesses and design a training regien that will help us all become better pilots.

As of now we are preparing to engage an unknown enemy threat. We have identified ourselves and why we feel they are a threat and have instructed them to take action in order to resolve the situation in a passive manner.
This however is a training exercise so we plan on roughing him up a bit.
Nonetheless the rules of engagement still apply. The unknown ship could be lost, disabled or in need of repair. The situation must first be properly assessed before it can be properly resolved, be in a passive or forceful manner.
Thus we dont want to just blast em out of the sky without giving em a nice talking to first.

Im eager to see how this plays out, hope to see you all on the simulated battlefield.

If you wait a day or two, I can have my pilot character written up till then and join, too. If I can think up a reason why she would be on the Light of the Force, that is...

Well I would like to get my Jedi some training in that thing, as his piloting skills are sorely lacking. So add one more to the party!

Well, this sounds right up my character, Faith's, alley. BUT she is currently incarcerated at a Sith camp [,]
Is the GA pardon still open? If it is I'll just re-write her character profile and skip the Sith prison stuff.

Meh... Can't really see how a military character would get into this, actually. They have a duty-roster, they do things the correct way - they can hardly just jump in on a group of Jedi they don't know... :(

Well you should just jump in anyways, its an open thread. What's the worse that's going to happen?

Well, I don't want to do something without any IC justification just to be there... I'll have to think of something to ease my conscience a little. ;-)

Perhaps you could join the simulation remotely from where your stationed. We should have the tech for something like that. I'd imagine at least.

Would it be possible for Sal to hop in on the sim from where he is on Tython? If so, this sounds great

Im not pickey about such things however I have no real authority. Like i said technologically it could be done I would imagine.
Im not opposed to anyone joining. More the merrier as far as im concerned.

The purpose of the thread is mainly introduce players to how the standard space combat missions will take place and what they can expect out of a space based roleplay experience. More of a learning opportunity than a cannon roleplay. If you would like to consider it cannon for your character fine by me, if not fine by me lol.

I have two people I can put into this. A spec ops soldier, or my Jedi. Can't decide yet but one will definitely be participating cause I find space battles to be amazing :D

I'll be posting soon guys just had some rl stuff to deal with today. Wanted to take the time to say so far everyone is doing great. Your sense of spatial awareness and positioning on the battlefield is one I'd the most important thing when It comes to this ad do far everyone is pretty spot on. Your working together as Antwan to execute maneuvers against the enemy.

Be mindful of the honing missiles though. In a cannon environment by now they should have struck their targe ir have been dealt with in some way. (which is primarily on me since I've taken up a tactical command position)

All in all great thread so far. Keep it up. Pretty soon I may take up the role of a few went craft to stretch your legs in pvp. Let's keep it going!

On the topic of the homing missiles. Considering Corren was the closest to their launch point - feel free to have them chase him for a while.
Whats the worst than can happen? He gets blown up: GAME OVER will flash on the screen.

Dying in a simulator for a first time pilot can't be a bad thing, lol.

I'd just like to pop in for a second and note that this is going really, really well, and I'm so excited to see dogfighting return to the site.

Just saw this (as I've been pretty busy the last few days/not attached to my comp). Really wanted to get in on these with Tross, as that's one of the main reasons I made him. So I'd like to apply for the next one of these.

A suggestion on my part. If there are people who see this thread just now, would it be possible to have them be our back up? Or would that make it too many players involved?

This is literally my first space battle ever [as this is my first Star Wars RP ever], so I'm just asking. Also I must admit I am liking this thread, and also be careful of Guhoo everyone, less you want him to crash in to you somehow. xD
