The arena, a place where the living went to die and then come back a thousand times more just to prove their worth. It was here that boys became men, girls became women. The sands, unchanged by time itself filled the floor of the circular colosseum. Rows of empty seats, stretching as far into the sky as one could see surrounded the high walls meant to keep the fighters within their confines. The blood stains along the walls and in the sand made it apparent the walls did their job well. Six pillars, stretching ten meters in the air, were aligned in a circle around the middle. These were the obstacles the fighters could use, and only these. Their marble color and ornate design were only brought out even more by the darkening clouds over head.

Kito stepped into the arena, his hazel eyes lazily searching the area. The empty seats calmed him, as much as the scene itself sickened him. His expression was one of apathy. Black robes with wide sleeves covered his body. Bracers, armored only by thin, black plasteel gave protection from the back of his hands to his elbows. His black boots had a similar armament. The thin plates of armor had small silver chips in them from their use over the years. The young nineteen year old sauntered towards the center of the pillars, his shoulder length, auburn hair swaying in the breeze.

The Universe would soon prostrate itself to the beckoned arrival of this one entity. He had long been in hiding, cast into the shadow, existing as a cave rat and little else. It was purposed. It was done. It happened. Now, however, that cave rat had scurried into the light, anxious, hungry and driven by a mad rage to devour and to destroy. The souls in this universe, one that was not quite unlike the man’s own, had not yet heard of his name; but they would, in due time. Back ‘home’, though, those souls knew his name. Those souls cried his name in the plea of “Save us!” Save us. Saevus. Darth Saevus.

Body carried itself with the composure of a god’s patience, one which marched toward an enemy knowing full well the destruction it would bring to it and therefore had no need to rush things. As black leather boots left their imprints in the sand, a breeze blowing against the fabric of Sith robes, leather gloves form fists, the man’s arrival at the center of the arena just then had. Standing twenty feet from his opponent, Saevus posed a muscled build, though one that allowed for strength without sacrificing agility. He stood at 6’2”. Brown hair was motionless in the wind, short and combed back. Amber eyes held stare with the opponent’s. Saevus merely stood there, expressionless, arms at sides. Any weapons upon his person were concealed, as was armor.

“Your move.”

The beast, darkened by ill will and malicious desires, strode into the arena. Kito watched the goliath of a man, his expression never changing from apathy, though his eyes hardened as the man approached. The Sith stopped, weapons and armor concealed. So this is what the Force has pitted Kito up against. Twenty feet apart seemed like miles as Kito held the Sith's gaze. "Your move," the beast said, it's tongue like a snake in Kito's mind. Evil had birthed this creature, and it would die as all evil things did.

Kito stepped forward. Then again. Within a moment he was sauntering towards his opponent, then walking. His pace quickened as he pulled the open crystal lightsaber hilt from the belt on his left hip with his right hand. The brilliant blue blade ignited, humming it's defiant existence as Kito broke into a run. He didn't need to waste words on the beast, for they were there for the same purpose. One would not leave here today, the other having claimed the right to live through combat.

Keeping his figure low, Kito approached the Sith quickly in his sprint until he was finally in range. Gauging his opponent, Kito swung his lightsaber horizontally from right to left, crossing his right arm over his chest. His sprint ended with his right foot forward of his left, and his legs were bent to keep from getting caught flat footed. His left arm was behind him for added balance.

The opponent charges. Weapon drawn. Purpose being to kill a Sith. Orbit of purpose being the blue blade of a lightsaber.

And like that, it begins…

…Just like you imagined.

In an instant, Saevus’ left hand flies upward, as does a silver lightsaber hilt from the depths of his robes at his right hip, called to the open fingers of raised hand by the draw of the Force in as rapid a motion as his opponent’s own saber-swing. As knees bend slightly and boots hold footing in sand, it is revealed that the Sith’s abrupt raising of his left arm is in fact one action of a seamless series. As soon as lightsaber hilt is grasped by left hand, a red blade of five feet in length juts out instantly. Bending his left arm at the elbow, Saevus halts it in midair barely parallel from the ground, blade positioned upward in an acute angle with its left side destined to absorb Kito’s own lightsaber heading toward it in his right to left attack, before its blue blade would connect with Saevus’ body.

However, Saevus had also angled his lightsaber so that its tip would plunge into Kito’s right shoulder as the two sabers would connect (as Saevus’ lightsaber would ignite), entering from the armpit area upward. At this positioning, Kito would have no room to maneuver his right arm to his left without it getting caught by Saevus’ blockading blade. Kito’s right arm would potentially be pierced at its bicep area if it somehow continued leftward at any rate. Saevus’ actions were, of course, concurrent; from raising his left arm while clutching his ignited lightsaber hilt to positioning the blade in a manner that was as much an action of defense as offense, there was no gap in time beyond the smallest of seconds.

Kito was young, but he was experienced enough to see the glint of metal flash into the Sith's hand. He knew instantly what it was, and saw the angle of the lens before the blade ignited, though the blade sprang to life within the second he noticed the hilt. He began his swing as the Sith's blade sprang to life. The five foot monster of a lightsaber was destined to pierce Kito's right shoulder; Kito wasn't about to let that happen. He continued his swing from his right to his left, but instead of angling his blade horizontally, Kito angled his blade vertically. The caused the blades to connect far sooner than they would have, but also allowed Kito to push the Sith's blade to Kito's left to the point where it would pierce the air beyond Kito's left shoulder (Due to the length of the blade).

Kito, now having the Sith's blade to his left and kept there by his own vertical blade, continued his movement forward. His blade slid, making cracks, pops, and sizzles, along his opponent's angled lightsaber. Kito's lightsaber blade was only the standard meter in length, but he waited until he was half a meter from the Sith's body to pull his blade from the Sith's and swing back to the right. The Sith's midsection was again Kito's focal point for the attack.
