As someone who has done real training in dueling and swordfighting... one blade is versatile, fast, and extremely deadly. You can do more, hit harder, and defend faster with one blade, or using a blade and dagger.

There are dual weapon styles that can work, but they are still very specific and require a lot of practice, and only involve two weapons so you still have a remotely solid grip.

My advice? Look up japanese, european, etc... styles and reach your own conclusions. Just look at official sources/manuals about the styles.

Okay, Thank you for your opinions. I will take them all as constructive criticism and grant you that I do undderstand the mechanics a style like this would pose. I will bring this style up again in the future but for now, as I am a padawan, I will merely use a form of sabor combat dealing with the single blade for now. Thank you and now this topic is closed.

With very few exceptions, all topics remain open until the admins feel that a discussion has run its course. Until such time that valid comments, concerns, and opinions cease to be given, this topic will remain open.

I personally think its awesome, and don't care how unrealistic it is.

I used this last timeline with Cedos Sola. I don't think there were any complaints.

Edit: Note that he typically just used his staff saber or single blade, but pulled them both out when he needed to **** some bitches up with his Force rage-ings

Most of it was oriented towards Jojo. I was also venting frustration at the fact that people are getting too extravagant with their lightsabers. Pretty soon, wielding just one blade is going to be the hot, new rare thing to do.

Don't you guys think you are being a little rough on this poor sap?

I watched that trailer too and for like the 5 seconds of the video where the Zabrak is using both blades on the dual saber, it's freaking kick ass. You guys are like getting all sophisticated and snobby by saying "it's just not practical" and "a slight mistake and you'd cut a limb off" and obnoxious things like that. I'm personally a fan of the traditional single saber myself, but even I have to realize that this isn't reality. This roleplay site is not about what is practical and understandable in real life. This is science fiction/fantasy, and as far as I am concerned anything goes. We are roleplaying in a universe where lightsabers are reality, and everyone is concerned that there might be too many? If we're going to talk about what is "real" and "practical", we should probably start with how there seem too be far too few real lightsabers in reality :P.

I'll agree that a padawan possessing the ability to fight with this style is too much, but hey, if someone wants to use it at a higher skill level there is no problem with that at all. The important thing is that everyone has a good time playing characters that they enjoy! :)

So yes, OP, please bring back this style again when your character grows in the Force. Personally I'd love to see this employed in the field :). Great idea.
