The Blu-Ray boxsets have been given a release date of September the 26th.

Anyone care?

Nope.

I honestly hate everything I've seen in blu ray, the images get too sharp to the point that seamlessly blended CG effects stand out in more contrast and " looks" faker that it did at original levels, and frame rates sometimes make cuts and such stand out more and gives a more jittery feel.

Anyone want to start taking bets on the changes?

I almost didn't care enough to post in this thread. They should spend more time making good Star Wars video games then ones for the masses/blue ray Star Wars.

:GL -a special effect is a tool, a means of telling a story. A special effect without a story is a pretty boring thing.

The force ghosts.

Maybe the AT-AT's?

Actually, I wouldn't mind either of those. The ghosts in Empire are a shimmering blue, and the ghosts in Jedi are sorta brownish, particularly Ben Kenobi on Dagobah. I'd like to see some continuity between those.

And I'd also like to see more AT-ATs on Hoth in the background to make it more menacing.

Sorry sister, KotOR II was the last orgasmic Star Wars video game we will see, not counting MMOs.

I think he should leave them alone.

There were 6 AT-ATs, from what I remember (like in Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds). Now making them look a little more real, that I'm fine with. Same for lightsaber effects, if possibly done well.

I would like the option for a custom made interactive bit in which you roll D&D dice to see who shoots first.

Maybe older films brought up to blu-ray, but definitely not new films.

BluRay is worth it. Definitely getting this when it comes out.

I've seen Something's Gotta Give and PotC: At Worlds End on Blu-Ray on a 52 inch flat screen TV. It just looked shiny and smooth. I'll stick to my normal DVDs.
