btw I understand nothing of the rules and am generally confused by everything.

main difference between American football and most of the other " on go all time" sports were more use to, is that American football is suppose to be looked at more like chess, or battle of strategy, it's a move and counter move etc. When it's fast and momentum is built, it can fly...when it's sluggish it's sluggish...

alot of what slows it down sadly is not the game itself, but comes from the business ends of it with everything from TV, to the owners and managers and such...and penalties can slow it down alot too.

I can enjoy it when I look at it that way, though I'm still more into Hockey, " world" football, and such..

but it is a blast to play though and a hell of alot more entertaining than baseball.

From a playcalling/coaching standpoint, it is kinda sorta similar to chess.

Football...not only is it one of the most boring sports to watch, I also learned to hate it after almost every one of my classmates made fun of me for disliking it and liking soccer.

My theory: Americans only like football because it's a way for fights to be legalized, and dislike soccer because they didn't invent it.
