"I understand master" Tahn said in a low, and respectful voice." Actually during my time here I came to believe that only through the knowledge of the dark side we will be able to bring the Jedi order down to its knees" He added as he stopped to gasp for air.

"but still master I think relying on knowledge alone too will make us no different from the Jedi" Tahn stopped for awhile as he gave a cunning smile to his master." Unless if we can of course make it a part of our natural instinct just like the force as you said."

"Good, very good indeed." He says nodding. "Now, power, what do you wish to learn next, for your resolve to do what most may find pointless here, I'll teach you something worthwhile." he says sitting at his desk watching his apprentice curiously.

"I am willing to learn anything you would offer to me master"Tahn said in a low, and humble voice.

"after all I am nothing but a mere servant to the Bogan, and of course I am in no postion to tell you what to teach me." Tahn added, and indeed that was true. After all he was nothing but a mere crusader who served the Bogan.

"Then we shall work on those instincts of yours to see what you've really learned...come with me to the courtyard." Mortificar said ominously. As he stood and headed for the hallways that would lead outside into the planets cold year round winter. A light snow was falling, and the ground was covered in a slight layer of frost that crunched underneath mortificars feet. He paused, waiting for his pupil to become accustomed to the cold. Then he focused splitting himself into several dopple-ganger clones.

"Often amongst our order others will use illusions created by the force, or our enemies may use mind tricks on you, or other ways to twist your mind to see their views, even if only for a moment to make you faulter. But how might you see that which is not real for what it is?" He asks, the dopplegangers all drawing their lightsabers. "How can you, to good effect illiminate these troubles?"

Tahn followed his master outside the temple to the cold. Gladly he was adapted to it. After all he usually spent most of his time meditating outside the temple in the cold without clothes. That was also one of the challenges that Tahn made for all of his students.

"simply master your clones offer no physical substance. They are simple projections that would pass through my body without affecting me physically just likes spirits" Tahn said as he ignited his crimson lightsaber, and dropped into form V defensive stance.

"however the real challenge is indeed finding the real one among all of these projections, and that make it harder to defeat the real one"Tahn said.

"but master I do believe that the other mind tricks affect the weak minded only, and those who do not have strong willpower."

"That all depends on the one who uses it in question. However it's very easy to attack with something made up of the force." The dopplegangers all said at once. "Because they simply channel the force users strength through them. So while lightsaber combat may prove enefficient..." They trail off all raising their hand and shooting a wave of force lighting at Tahn.

Tahn listened to Tahn. What he said was true indeed, but after all Tahn never fought up against a master in the force, or someone who knew a lot about the mind tricks like Mortifacur. So he simply did not know any other way to protect himself from this force power. Even if he did try to use the force to try, and shield his master's attack it would not work. Indeed Mortifacr was way stronger than him.

Following his instincts Tahn quickly lowered his body completely to knee level hoping that he would be able to dodge this attack.

He watched as the lightening went over the boys head. "You're quite lucky to be alive, if I wanted to kill you just then, I would have been able to do so." He says sounding somewhat disappointed.

"What are we? You and I? Are we the jedi, looking to simply dodge an attack to stay alive another day? Or are we conduits of the darkside, who destroy any that stand in our way?" The questions of course were rhetorical, no answer was needed.

One of the mirrors stepped forward, revealing himself to be the true Mortificar. He let out a force wave around him in all directions knocking the illusions back, and they dissipated. "Illusions created by the force can be destroyed with the force, just the same. You have to merely overpower them, sometimes one at a time if that allows you to focus more power. It is agression and power that will make them cease to exist."

Tahn stood up , and listened to his master."but master I belive that using the force to knock out the clones would leave me open for attacks from the real one of course not mentioning that it would worn me out a lot" Tahn said as he lowered his head.

"after all I am not that capable in the ways of the force like you are master" Tahn added as he gave a slight bow to his master.

He slapped his pupil with a clawed hand, likely drawing blood. "And not attacking would leave you dead. Better to be open to attack than to meet your end." He said, then pulled out several needles. Without saying so much as a word he used the force to puncture several spots on tahn's arms legs and chest. Then used the force to pin him down on the ground.

"Remove them with the force, this exercise will be repeated at various times throughout our training until you can do so effectively." He said, what he failed to mention is that there was a force suppressant in the form of ancient symbols imbued with the force micro etched into those needles. They were designed by mortificar himself, it was an exercise of will to remove them to increase ones power within the force, or die of course. This would not be easy.

Tahn was slapped hard, and that caused a small amount of blood to come from his mouth, but well he quickly spitted it on the ice below his feet. Tahn then did not have enough time to react due to the fact that he was attacked by some deadly needles from his master. They all penetrated his body, and that caused Tahn a lot of pain. But pain was something that actually made Tahn stronger not weaker. It fueled him actually, and made him more powerful.

Tahn then felt down on the floor from his master's next attack, and now was the time he had to fight back. Tahn shouted out in a loud voice. Pain, hate, and anger were obvious in his voice. His body was now starting to turn a little bit red, and a little bit blue. It was actually some sort of a mix between pain, and anger. Tahn then reached out through the force as rage exploded all over his body. knocking out the needles slowly one after the other. That was it. He was actually able to use a small amount of the force in every spot in his body to knock out the needles.

Quickly Tahn stood up on his feet, and looked at his master. He was surely somewhat tired, and in pain due to the fact that it took him some time to knock out all the needles.

"You see? Could you have done that when you first began your training here? Not with me, but when you first started out, before aquiring a lightsaber?" He said once more using the force to press him down onto the ground. He picked up the needles inserting them one by one. "No, not at all. Our power comes not from the force within us." He said as another needle pierced Tahn. "But from our ability to channel it through us. The jedi look to focus the force as they channel themselves to stay in control." He says walking around tahn watching him closely inserting another needle. "But we look to open ourselves to it, let it consume us as we direct it. In order to have power in the dark side one must give yourself to the darkside." He said finally placing the last needle in him.

"Now, again." this time however would be more difficult. The needles were placed in his chest around vital organs, not extrimities as before.

Tahn was not able to speak, and answer his master's words due to the fact that he was pinned again on the floor. It was obvious that master Mortificar was not going to give any chance to Tahn. It was also obvious that there was a high chance in his death, and well it was true that Tahn feared death, but well he was ready to do anything to gain power.

This time it was harder, and Tahn was not able to breath due to the fact the the needles were around his chest. Quickly Tahn closed his eyes as he remembered his hate to the Jedi, and what they did to his father. And of course he remembered his great hate toward his former master who left the temple, and betrayed the Bogans.

Tahn then opened his eyes, but now they were yellow. Yeah that indeed happened a lot to those who were completly consumed by the darkside. Tahn then unleashed a somewhat strong amount of force that made all the needles fly above him. he then rolled to the right side as the needles landed on the ice ground. Pain, hate, and anger. These were obviously the key words to Tahn's powers.

"Very nice. Good. You feel it now don't you? You've crossed a line. Hopefully you will not be weak and cross back like some before you." He said smiling he used the force to bring the needles to him, holding them out as though he were counting them. "Your only limit is by those which your mind imposses onto you. As you study more you'll see those limits simply disappear." As he said those words the needles faded from view, revealed to be yet another illusion of the force created by mortificar.

The needles, they were all not real, and that was something that made the young crusader shocked. Tahn then started to run his hands around his chest, but well there were no injuries. This attack simply injured him mentally not physically. Tahn then looked at his master in cheap look."Your only limit is by those which your mind imposses onto you. "As you study more you'll see those limits simply disappear." these few words were surely going to stick in Tahn's brain for eternity, and well they of course made him more eager to continue this.

" I understand master"
Tahn said in a polite tone as he looked at his master.

He chuckled. "No...but I think you're begining to." he said then headed back towards the temple. "Come, let us study more..." he said fading out of sight into the dark recesses of the temple doors.

Once inside he lead his student down into a chamber, there was someone strapped to a wall. "This is a jedi spy." He said to his pupil. The man, wide eyed screamed out that he was not, claiming mortificar to be a liar. "How would you find it best to break him, I wonder?"

"I would personally use force grib to torture him, and extract all the information I need from him" Tahn said as soon as he entered the room, and saw the pathetic Jedi spy.

"and then if he stayed alive after that. I would well.....break him mentally using the force, or maybe cut every limp in his body slowly, and brutaly" Tahn added as he looked at the Jedi's eyes.

"But if you do something like that he might just tell you information you want to hear. How would you make sure that information is correct?" He asked. This of course was a test for his young apprentice, if the right answers were given, a reward would come, if the wrong answers were given he may very well find himself strung up next to the prisoner infront of them.

"Well I do believe that by striking fear in his heart he would automatically tell you the truth, but still that might not always work" Tahn said as he looked at the Jedi spy with an eye full of hate, and anger.

"However we can always use mind tricks to extract the information we need, and make sure that it is right. Like for example let's say mind control. It would help us control the target's mind, and let it tell us the information we need. Also there is force persuasion, but I do believe that only a stupid Jedi would use this trick." Tahn added, but this time he was looking at his master.

"Never doubt any power of the force, or consider one weaker than the other. Have I not shown you that often times the unseen smallest attack can, when used propperly be the most effective in a given situation?" he scolded.

"Persuasion is excellent for gathering information without drawing attention to yourself. It also helps weaken the mind further, allowing for more advanced tactics like mind control to be used far more easily."

He paused looking over at the captive. "However, in this case fear could work, it could however send him into a state of shock. Torture requires a delicate hand, believe it or not." he chuckled. "If you're looking for information that is. Often times if you push to hard you will only receieve the information the captive thinks will make the pain stop soonest. That information however, isn't always acurate."
