Not all was well on Dressel from the reports Ranger Holliday had been reading. After the death of an ISC ambassador during a strike by the locals he and another were being sent to investigate one way or another. The powers that be were hoping that their mix of skills would be able to drum up some answers, and while Jazz wouldn't exactly say he was optimistic he'd at least give it a shot. Not to mention try to keep the same fate from befalling the other man with him.
Jasper and the diplomacy type would arrive on the same ship, the Ranger more or less in plainclothes and keeping to his pistol, folding stun baton within a jacket, medic's kit, and his badge. As much good as that was likely to do him, anyway. Who knows, right? He'd be reading over a datapad with a grumpy expression and cigarra dangling from between his lips in the hangar for final look-overs of the info they had.
Whether this Rinn fellow wanted to go full negotiation, sneaky sneaky, or some wacky hybrid method was really up to him. Jasper was just a Ranger after all, not a governor or whatever he was.
