Emryc paused in the middle of fixing his hair when Jaikus repeated his statement. His gaze flicked over to the screen as he muttered under his breath, “Whatever,” but not before idly mussing his hair up again.
The half Sephi said nothing regarding the show, mainly because he was still overanalyzing his own strange behavior. It wasn’t in his nature to laugh like that and especially over something so stupid. Emryc silently and grumpily kept watching the show. He barely noticed Jaikus getting sleepy next to him. His thoughts quickly went from his own attitude to the sequence of factual and continuity errors he saw. Emryc pointed a few of these out and eventually he heard nothing in response.
It wasn’t till much later that there was a tremendous thud that would abruptly jolt Jaikus awake. When he did, he would realize he was slumped against Emryc who was still sitting there calmly staring at the credits rolling on the screen. Meanwhile, there was a barrage of slamming and thudding against the door.
As soon as Jaikus opened his eyes and came to, Emryc would glance down at him. Only then did the half Sephi abruptly spring out of the bed to rush to the door. He opened it and blasted back the horde with the Force. He disappeared from sight as he moved out to engage the horde directly. Regardless of whether or not Jaikus joined in, he would hear utter chaos erupt outside as the infected were quite literally torn to shreds. Body parts flew in every direction, heads were being yanked right off and exploding in a gruesome display.
Emryc stepped back to let Raze take over handling the problem.
