I like it - but I do agree with SoB.
If the version made by the Accord is the same as this version made by us - it may not get approved.

unless it mentioned say one makes under license or even illegally copies it. That would be a indie faction admin call though.

They're totally different, in almost every way imaginable, lol.

Also my tab with the post for the Serv-O Droid thread got deleted. I'm about to go insane... *resists Shining moment*

This is the Accord shield. It is very much different

eFtcgtU.png

Affiliation: The Accord (The Initiative)

Ownership: N/A

Intent: The Screen was created to for defensive entrenchments for Accord members, regardless of whether they were combatants or not. It is designed for either personal use or to quickly establish a makeshift / temporary beachhead. I'm making it because I fully intend to use it, although it will be up to Outie whether to sell it or market it. I have yet to really see tech like this outside of the convenience of SWtoR, which really surprises me, because it is very practical and useful.

Model/Name: Foundry-class portable shield generator (MODEL No. HTER-2/8112) / Individual units frequently nicknamed as a "screen"

Type: Portable shield generator

Power Supply: 'Screens' are powered by a triune of relatively generic light-mass cores, which enables the screens to remain powered for hours, even when subjected to blasterfire. Screens do, however, take 2/3rds of their lifetime to recharge

Sensors: N/A

Size: 3 Meters (LENGTH); 0.6 Meters (WIDTH); 1 Meter (HEIGHT) / 3 Meters (SCREEN ACTIVE)

Composition: Agrinium/Frasium alloy (BASE ONLY)

Description: The Foundry-class portable shield generator is a sturdy bulwark for entrenched positions that need to be defended. It functions solely as a barrier for a static position. Because of its heavy weight, it is ordinarily transported in pieces, and then reconstructed where necessary. Suffice to say, it cannot move once activated, and it can only protect from one vector. As a ray-based deflector, the screen is a superbly effective barrier against energy attacks, although is utterly ineffective against physical matter; slugs will pass clear through it.

It was a production of the Initiative, and was a cheaper and less expensive variant of the spherical portable shield generator. The physical base of the portable shield generator can semi-detatch and extend outward to create a platform for one-to-two individuals to use as a slightly-elevated vantage point, if they are using the screen in a firefight.

ours is better, all so it may even get passed as generic then. I mean shield generators are pretty common

I wouldn't say "better", it just has more potential uses. The Accord get into combat more often, so setting up cover screens makes more sense for them, and it fits with the faction's grittier appeal

I know, ours is easier to market since it can have industrial uses to. Say if it could be switched out for a particle shield version. Fast easy habitation zone

That's a good point there @SoB. I think there is an industrial use here.

mines, exploration, rescue teams, disaster management, and others could use it if it was a particle shield.

Potential tech idea, which I'll flesh out tomorrow:

USB sized data-pad, with a projection unit on one end to make a holographic screen, and a unit on the other to project a holographic keyboard.

Behold, the galaxies smallest computer.

I'll make a generic write up and ask permission to add it to the projects list. We can be the apple of SWRP.

Model: CZ HDR1

Type: Dart gun

Size: Carbin sized bolt acstion

Composition: Iron Wood, dura steel, plasteel
