The Drakes, or singularly a Drake, are reptilian and mammalian avian humanoids whom hail from the planet of Draconias found within the Nern Nebula, a distant area of space within the region of Wild Space. Separated from most of the known Galaxy for millennia, the Drakes are fairly rare to find out in the known Galaxy.

Biology

The Drakes vary vastly in appearances and in stature, but are commonly known for their partially scaled skin and horned head as well as their natural affinity for Telepathy and Kinesis, resulting in most being overtly sensitive Empaths and Elementalists. A strong connection to the Force, Drakes usually have a singular element to which they are adequately attuned to and when breath is formed into verbal speech, they speak with the element they are attuned to. Only to another Drake, can Drakes physically speak because of this and usually reverts to their use of Telepathy to speak to non-Drakes.

I.E. Fire Drakes speak with Fire, Ice Drakes with Ice, etc.

There are seven kinesis in which the Drakes are attuned with. These are Pyro, Geo, Aero, Hydro/Cyro, Veno(Poison), Shade(Shadow), and Illumin(Light). And Drakes are rarely able to, if not find impossible to, attune themselves to more than one, leaving them unable to weild another even if taught. Drakes also possess wings and tails for flight and aerial maneuverability, and have Anisodactyl Feet and Ectrodactyly Hands. Some Drakes have elongated ears while others possess rounded ears and their shades of scales were many. Only atop their heads and upon their face were they able to grow finely scaled follicles reminiscent of human like hair.

Breeding

Much like their human counterparts, all Drakes held a mother and father and could interbred with numerous other species making Drake Halflings more common in the larger Galaxy than Pureblooded Drakes. But unlike their human counterparts, Drakes were born from large eggs. Mothers would lay their eggs around twenty four weeks after fertilization and the egg would incubate for at least another twenty three before hatching.

Infants mature into Toddlers around Ten Galactic Years, and from Toddler age to Childhood around Thirty Galactic Years. Childhoods usually lasted around one hundred years before the Drakes would inherently reach maturity and their wings and horns would fully develop. By the age of two hundred, Drakes were considered Adults.

Diet

Drakes are naturally carnivores and scavengers, and plant based foods are substantially toxic if ingested. Most of their meals consist of offal and carrion meats from other sentient beings, but fish and fowls do make appearances when the others are not accessible. Upon their homeworld, they are at the top of the food chain and can be cannibalistic if food is scarce or unattainable.

Behavior & Temperament

Drakes are a young and primitive race compared to the Galactic Standards set forth by more known races of species within the known Galaxy. They've only recently achieved hyperspace capabilities in the last two or three millenniums and have barely begun to explore outside their system.

Drakes in the known Galaxy are telepathic empaths whom are reserved and cautious and rarely explore the aspect of the Force Orders, instead choosing to recluse themselves from majorial spotlights. It's not unknown, however, for Drakes to join the Force Orders or even partake in war. Scavengers by nature, they often find the aspect of battlefields as an all you can eat buffet.

Communication & Language

The true language of the Drakes is Dra'gon, to speak specifically to another by the emotional expression of their Ky'yne, or voice. But due to the nature of their voice being tied to the kinesis, they rely on their telepathic thoughts to speak for them, usually as a voice inside one's head or thoughts implanted. Drakes also possess the Shar'gon, an intimate expression of one's true emotional heart by placing their forehead to another's and humming, allowing a resonance of their thoughts to flow into another's mind and become one. Shar'gon is usually taboo to anyone not considered family, as it allows a intimate bond to be established and allows a deeper clarity of the Drake's soul similar to that of a Force Bond.

Culture

Culturally speaking, the Drakes are a primitive society of warring Clans and cannibalism. But it delves deeper than just its surface value. To the Drakes, a more naturalistic aspect is found. They honor their dead in the consumption of their physical form after death, consuming a part of the being's soul that could never be taken, whether it be friend or foe. While a Friend lies in sorrow, a Foe lies in dominance.

Drakes also live in Clans that vary from small villages to large towns, most homes consisting of a combination of technology and flora, and grown from the soil of Draconias. In these Clans, there is a duality of Leadership, both in a Chieftain and Shaman. And while a Chieftain pertains to the physical aspect of the Clan, the Shaman pertain to the Spiritual Essence of the Drakes.

Due to the nature of the Drake's scales, battle is often brutal and long. Dependent upon the Drake's Ky'yne, it's spiritual attunement to the kinesis elements, one's scales may be weak or strong to another's Ky’yne. Geo is stronger than Aero, but not as strong as Hydro/Cyro. Just as Hydro/Cyro is stronger than Geo, but not Pyro, a continuous circle that repeats. Illuminakinesis > Shadekinesis > Pyrokinesis > Hydrokinesis/Cyrotelekinsis > Geokinesis > Aerokinesis > Venokinesis > Repeat.

Those born attuned to Illuminakinesis possess the element of Light, and can wield it’s healing properties to aid those in battle just as those born attuned to Shadekinesis possess the element of Shadow, wielding it's corruptive properties to dishearten or instill fear amongst the enemy. Or for those born attuned to Venokinesis can wield it's poisoning properties to weaken the opposition or enrage their own side into a frenzy. Drakes believe that each has their part to play both in battle and in society, and as such, revere both life and death as progression into the next life that awaits them.

History

In the grand entirety of the Galactic Age, the Drakes are relative newborns. Barely twenty thousand years old, their society didn't really blossom until within the last ten thousand or so with the last three thousand spent amongst the stars. It's only been in the last thousand or so that Drakes have wondered into known space.

Intent

To create a Dragon-esque humanoid sentient species for community enjoyment and expansion upon if wished to. Current Drakes will be limited to the currently created kinesis found in the Lore Section unless someone wishes to write up the kinesis of Illuminakinesis(Light), Shadekinses(Shadow), and Venokinesis(Poison).

We just had a 'dragonic' species approved here. The look for this species is (near-)humans with horns, which can be done by the also already-existing tieflings. And if you really want the dragon thing going, there is the Draconian. I've also shot down the elemental dragons in the past 2 dragonic species write-ups very recently due to not fitting in star wars and associated headaches should they be used in combat.

There are other things as well, but this mainly boils down a dragon-like species being approved and not approving any more of them.

Thanks for the submission but unfortunately I will have to archive this and then the associated planet.
