Kane nodded his respectful agreeance to Sese. Her insight into the mountains and trails would prove very valuable, not just for security but for Jedi training and Fiani relations. Knowing the land wasn't necessarily needed in most situations, but it most certainly helped. He could imagine a lot of lessons Padawans could learn from accompanying Fiani hunting parties, and from the Fiani culture itself.

Feeling a bit more comfortable, Kane grabbed some food that wasn't just a pastry and began eating it. His regret at not having done it sooner was immediate, though he didn't show it. He took his time with it, despite wanting to scarf it down. Swallowing down a rather large bite, Kane nodded his agreement with Harald's words. There was nothing more he could add to the topic at hand, so he kept quiet and waited, happily eating what had become the best meal he's had in a long time.

R'ashtaro offered Kayo a wide smile. "I'm familiar with them both. T'vani I just met recently. She's a strong soul - she will do well in the Order. I'd be happy to speak to her parents, no? They have lots to be proud of."

The red-coated Fiani's smile lessened a little as he spoke to the subject of Yae. "Yae and I rose through the ranks together. She's a good friend. I was very sorry to learn of her disappearance." He hesitated for a moment, then added: "With everything that's happening across the Galaxy, our resources are spread thin. But I will see what can be done to discover what happened to her."

Moving on from the sore subject, R'ashtaro nodded along with Harald's explanation. Once Harald was done, he added: "You can rest assured that the Jedi would not fail to come to Fiana's aid, should the worst happen. But, as you all have pointed out, which my esteemed colleagues have also agreed with, the aim of the temple on Fiana shall never be as a part of some sort of militarization, no? And I'm sure that if we just maintain communications and good diplomatic relations between us, we can ensure that the temple activity does not extend beyond its mandate."

___Harald's defence of the Wookies having a formidable naval fleet gave Gomoto pause. The elderly Fiani grunted and nodded, seemingly content with the answer.

___"If the Wookie's fleet is as formidable as you say, and they are willing to contribute their navy to Fiana's defence, should it come to it, I am more amenable."

___Kayo looked between Gomoto and Harald, a small, warm smile on her lips as the two talked. The ears on her head flicked and bobbed as the conversation carried on, and her attention fell on R'ashtaro. The woman's smile grew as the other Fiani spoke highly of T'vani, attesting to her capabilities and competence at her chosen path. She nodded at his words and sentiments.

___"Then I, for one, am willing to allow the Jedi to reclaim their temple," Kayo said. "In exchange, aside from Fiana not being used for mobilising military forces, there would be no lightsabers permitted within Teakroof's walls," she continued, gesturing to the weapons the Jedi carried. "Fiana is, as I'm sure I've made clear, a peaceful place. Only our hunters carry weapons; that aside, lightsabers are distinct, identifying things. If the wrong person saw several individuals armed with lightsabers in the settlement, someone could pass that information to the very people whose attention we are trying to avoid."

___The other Fiani leaders nodded their agreement with Kayo's sentiment. After remaining silent for so long, Y'Miko shifted in her seat, leaning forward to rest her elbows on the table.

___"I am inclined to agree with Kayo," the woman said. "No lightsabers within the bounds of any settlement that does not expressly allow them. It would also be expected of every Jedi and trainee to abide by and respect our rules and traditions," Y'Miko elaborated. "We are proud of our culture and prouder still allowing all to join and live peacefully with us. Disrespect or combative attitudes towards our lifestyle by any of the Jedi Order, even your youngest and most novice, will not stand."

___"And no marked starships," Gomoto chimed in. "All Jedi starships to and from Fiana are to be free of your emblems and association."

___Sese, meanwhile, was quiet. She decided to speak up once the others finished laying out their terms.

___"I don't have any requests, but I got an idea. What about lettin' our huntin' parties work with your trainees and stuff? Let us take 'em on huntin' trips, show 'em our trails, let 'em get some training and familiarity with our world. Ya know, kinda like R'ashtaro said," Sese recommened. "Workin' together, learnin' about each other."

___"That's a wonderful idea, Sese," Kayo agreed. "Master Jedi, if you find those terms agreeable, I do believe we have an accord. What do you think?"

"The terms are very agreeable." Harald nodded as they made a key breakthrough in negotiations. The Fiani people really are something. They are very trusting of the Jedi, and Harald respected that. He would return that respect to them. "On behalf of the Jedi, we will humbly accept those conditions." he respectfully bowed his head. "Thank you. We will honor the terms, and the trust you all generously given us." he said after a long pause.

This might have been presumptous of Harald to agree to, but the terms were indeed very generous and understanding. "Also, if you would allow it, we also hope to establish a direct line of communication to you all. For ease of communication and for the sake of friendship, understanding, and goodwill." It wasn't just enough that the Jedi resettle the temple. Harald wanted to build a genuine friendship with the Fiani, so that in time, a blossoming sodality can be formed between the two parties.

Also, Harald smiled.

One by one Kane's eyes watched the Fiani make their terms. They weren't unreasonable, the exact opposite in fact. They were terms that he himself would have wanted if the Jedi had come to his home world. He especially liked the idea about Jedi Initiates and Padawans learning from the Fiani culture. At worst, it would allow the Jedi to learn how to live on Fiana should they need to take to the mountains. At best, it would form generations of bonded Jedi and Fiani friends and partnerships.

He looked to Harald. Harald was a good Jedi Knight, and an even better diplomat. He was the right person for the job. Kane found himself smiling as he took another bite of his food.

R'ashtaro would signal his agreement with the terms that Kayo and Harald laid out for the cooperation between the Order and the Fiani communities. His tails swayed contently behind him. It was only the beginning of a long, ongoing discussion and cooperation between the parties, but it pleased him that the first steps had been taken. At a time when both the Sith and the Imperials did their best to drive a wedge between the Jedi and the rest of the Galaxy, it was a sign of hope to experience a fruitful exchange between parties that respected each other. He was sure that both the Jedi and his kinfolk could do good things for each other.

Swallowing a final bite of food and wiping his mouth, he rose from the table and bowed his head reverently at each of the community leaders. "I'm glad that we can work out how to assist each other in these trying times," he said. "I'm sure we'll see each other again before long, no? For now, I will excuse myself for a moment. I believe T'vani's parents are excited to hear how she's faring. I shouldn't keep them waiting any longer." He winked at Kayo, then looked to his two colleagues, saying: "I'll join you later, when it's time to organize with the community leaders and lay a plan for restoring the temple."

With that, he left the room to go find T'vani's parents and update them on the progress their daughter was making.

___"If you would care to join me, Master Svendsen, we can work together to figure out the logistics of communication between Teakroof and the Jedi Order," Kayo replied with a smile. She placed her hands on the arms of the chair, struggling to push herself to her feet before Gomoto stood and offered her some assistance. The woman accepted with a grateful smile and, once standing, gestured for Harald to follow before waddling away.

___"Nice ta work with y'all! Excited ya see what we can learn from each other!"

___"I simply hope we do not regret this decision."

___"We'll be all right, Gomoto. You needn't worry."

The group of Fiani gradually shuffled out of the building, awaiting a crowd standing outside. Hushed voices talked amongst one another as the Fiani representatives departed and people dissipated to resume their daily lives. As R'ashtaro stepped out, a Fiani couple frantically waved him down, blasting the man with questions about T'vani and her progress in the Jedi.
