At dawn Kant walked out to the temple on Ziost. The previous day had not gone well for him. He had joined a respected master in a small group training class, but had not done well and was told to leave the class and meet him here today. He walked up to the temple and began to do his warmups. He wondered why the master wanted him here at all. He had not liked his new form, and had, judging by his kicking him out of the training class, thought that he was not very good. This did not meet the usual criteria for setting up a second private training session. He pulled out his saber and went through a warm up and equipment check routine, first he thrust then he simulated parrying, and slashed in both directions. When he was done this he began to do his morning warm up and training exercises while he waited on the master. He was anxious to see what he would want to do with him. He wondered whether the master had come to kick him out of the Sith. On a brighter note he thought it possible that the master wanted him to be his apprentice.

John put his wrist blaster to stun and fired a few shots to make sure that is was working. He then began to practice his saber and blaster coordination. He would attack with his saber and fire just outside the saber's strike point so that the saber would keep his opponent from blocking the shot as easily. He also practice shooting and stabbing at different points. He waited eagerly for the master to show up and explain what this training session meant.

Dart Proelium, Weapons Master, Sith Lord, and Head of the Academy of Ziost, watched from the shadows of the courtyard. Acolyte Kant had not done well in his class. However, there could be some potential within him. Plus, he needed an easily manipulated being for his grand scheme.

The man before him was not physically intimidating with a lightsaber, nor was he well trained in the Dark Side. Proelium could change the lightsaber part, but Kant would have to learn the ways of the Force through hard study and training. Proelium lacked the Force powers of the other Sith Lords, but he made up for his weakness with his skills with a lightsaber.

After watching Kant for sometime, Proelium decided to finally approach the man. Maybe he had learned proper respect since his beating during the class. proelium took long delibrate strides towards the younger man, his black robes whipping in the wind, hood concealing his facial features.

"Acolyte Kant! I'm glad to see that you can follow orders. Now tell me, why do you think I asked you to come here after you failed so miserably in my class?"

Kant immediately stopped what he was doing and bowed to the master "my lord, I am not sure why you called me here today. I am hoping that you intend to teach me to fight more effectively with my lightsaber. Beyond that I must confess that I have no idea what you want me for. I was wondering why you called me here my lord, would you be so kind as to explain?" With that John fell silent and looked around him. The sun was still rising through the grey clouds overhead. In the early morning quiet any sound seemed to be extremely loud. It was still fairly dark out side with shadows under every tree and building. He had always loved this time of day when most people were not up yet and he could do what he wanted in peace and quiet.

"Wrong. I am going to do much more than instruct you in the ways of lightsaber combat. Please follow me."

Proelium was impressed that the man had learned from his mistakes. Maybe there was some hope for Kant after all. Proelium turned towards the temple and walked through the entrance with a brisk pace. He did not once look back to see if Kant was following him. What few studnets were up already did not dare look at Proelium as he walked past. He did not have time for these insignificant fools.

Eventually, he came to a small secluded room in the Temple. The Sith Lord entered and turned to face Kant who had hopefully followed.

Kant was puzzled by the master's statement. What did he intend to do that was "much more" than lightsaber training. He knew of only one way to find out, to follow Proelium and allow Proelium to train him. He followed Proelium into the temple he walked through halls which only contained a few people, all of whom seemed to be very afraid of the master. He followed him to a small secluded room in the temple. The room was made of stone and was a little bit dark, as most rooms in Sith temples are. He walked into the room and waited for Proelium to tell him what to do now.

"Acolyte Kant....kneel."

Proelium ignited his crimson blade and hel it at the man's throat. This was going according to plan so far. The next part decided the whether Kant lived or died.

"Acolyte Kant if you agree to what I am about to say respond with Yes, Master. Do you pledge to train your hardest? Do you pledge to serve me and only me faithfully and without question? Do you pledge your life to the Dark Side of the Force?"

Proelium waited for the man's answer. If the answer is what he expected, then his plans would be set in motion.

Kant did kneel. At first he was slightly surprised by Proelium drawing his saber and holding at his throat, but then when he began his speech it all made sense. He was wanting him to train with him. He spoke in a clear and decisive voice "Yes master." He was not sure but he thought that he might now be Proelium's apprentice. He was curious why the master was taking such great pains to train someone who he did not think was very good. He wondered what he would train him in. Would he start trying to teach him about force powers, or would he want to help him with his new form? These and other questions raced through Kant's mind as he waited to see what the master would do next.

Proelium deactivated his blade when he heard the words.

"Rise my apprentice. Tell no one of this however, Sith are...unpredicatble. You will accompany me when we go to war, when I call for you, or you feel you may learn something from my presence. I will have you assigned to my battle group."

Proelium storde over to the wall of the room and opened a concealed panel in the wall. He pressed a button and several training droids wielding active lightsabers leapt from their concealed positions. Four more holding ancient blaster rifles appeared behind Kant.

"Now, show me that form of yours."

(ooc: i will be NPCing the droids.)

OOC: Do we actually have different battle groups or is that just for the story?
John looked at the droids and knew right away that he should go after the ones with the blasters first so that he could take on the ones with sabers without interference. He immediately activated his lightsaber as he began his attacks. Using force speed he rushed toward the blaster droids. He fired three shots with his wrist blaster at the chests of the last three droids in line; the one closest to him he decided to take with his blade. He rushed at this droid and slashed at his chest, this slash was meant to cut him in half. He stood several feet away from the droids with the lightsabers. He hoped that he had killed all of the blaster droids and would be able to go after the saber droids now.

ooc: we do actually have different battle groups they're just not up yet.

IC:

The four blaster droids fired rapidly at Kant, yet none seemed to connect. One, two, three fell with smoking holes in their chests. The last fell in two smoking pieces. Circuits misfired and sparked from the legs. Miraculously, the torso was still active and the droid managed to squeeze off one last shot before finally deactivating.

The three lightsaber droids rushed Kant. One leaped forward blade sweeping high for a two handed diagnol slash across Kant's body. The two others circled Kant, one bringing its left weapon arm in for a quick thrust at the Acolyte's arm. The other sweeping with its right leg to knock Kant off his feet.

Proelium smiled beneath his hood as Kant made quick work of the four blaster droids. These were simply basic traiing droids, the real surpirse had yet to come.

Kant stepped quickly away from the one who attempted the strike across his body. He parried the blow from the one droid who tried to stab him in the arm to the side and slashed at it's chest attempting to cut it in half. He had stepped out of the way of the blaster shot and simply allowed it to miss him. He fired quickly at the chest and at the leg of the one who was attempting the leg sweep. If all went well he would soon be facing just one lightsaber droid one on one and could finish him easily.

One droid fell, its chest ripped open from Kant's blade. The photoreceptors dimmed and died. The droid sweeping its legs out attempted to duck out of the way of the shot, but ended up having its head sheared off. The last remaning droid turned and whipped a single hand slash low at Kant's feet while spinning to bring around an metal elbow at his head. The droids yellow photoreceptors were bright and menacing.

Kant easily jumped over the droid's attempt at slicing his feet. He countered with a slash across the droid's chest that was meant to slice it in half and a shot from his blaster aimed at his head. The slash would also stop the droid's elbow attack if he succeeded in launching it. He was confident that this would kill the droid. He was eager to find out, from his master, how he had done.

The last training droid fell in pieces at Kant's feet.

Proelium's smirk was concealed beneath his hood. He strode to another spot on the wall, clapping his hands in false applause. "Very good Acolyte Kant," the sarcasm in his voice was heavy and very noticable, "now for the real test of your skills!"

Proelium hit another concealed switch and fom the shadows sprung two YVH-2 droids.

Both YVH-2 droids opened up with full atuo-fire from their wristt cannons aiming full power shots directly at Kant. They seperated and began circling him spraying blaster bolts.

Kant immediately saw that these droids were much more dangerous, and that there were relatively few places that he could safely go, on the ground at least. He used force leap to get up into the air over top of their first volleys, and to try to get in behind one of the droids. As he flipped through the air he fired two shots at the droid that he was moving away from. As he landed behind the other droid he slashed straight down on top of where the droid stood. He hoped to kill this droid by cutting it in half. He was not sure what the blaster shots would do to the other droid, but this seemed like his best option.

As Kant came down the YVH he was attacking grabbed his wrist and flung him across the room towards the wall with tremendous force. The other YVH droid took the blaster shots from Kant full on, not even stopping to fire as two holes appeared in its chest. The holes quickly disappeared as the droids armor repaired itself. The YVH that flung Kant began firing again before the Acolye could collect himself.

The throw hurt alot. But, given the circumstances, he fought through the pain in his wrist, it was either this or die. He rolled out of the way of the shots, got up, and force sped his way towards the nearest droid. He slashed at it's central spine that connected the top to the bottom part. He also fired two shots aimed at the spine connecting it's head to it's chest. He was behind the one droid, so he was not particularly worried about being shot at by the other. It would have to shoot a fellow droid in order to be able to shoot at him. He was watching, this time, in case it tried to grab him so that he could cut off any limbs it stuck out toward him.

The lightsaber cut through the YVH's armor slowly but effectivley. The droid fell in two smoking parts before the two blaster shots sheared its lightly defended neck off. The other droid, now that it had a clear shot, switched to its flamethrower and sprayed fire at Kant, waiting for it to engulf him.

Impressive, Proelium thought, very nice exectuion on the slash. He still has one droid left though.

John saw the flame coming and ran to the side out of the way. He charged forward toward the droid while avoiding his flame. As he grew near to him he began to fire at the spine connecting the neck to the chest. He stepped forward and slashed at the droid's side trying to slice it in half like all of the others. He wondered what would come after this test and what the master had thought of how he had handled these two.

After seeing the demise of its comrade, the second YVH would not fall for the same trick. The YVH stopped its flame barrage and quickly ducked under the blaster shots aimed for its head. It whipped its weapon arm around so that instead of being cut in half, the arm was taken off just below the elbow joint. With the remaining stump, it foolowed through with a simple swing with all its strength to Kant's midsection.
