Jake was at all surprised that Dawn was shocked that he had saved him. Though he did not know much of the way of the sith or there teaching he would not be surprised if a fellow Sith would leave each other to drown in order win. But Jake was a Jedi and he could sense that Dawn was not lost, deep in is heart Dawn was not evil, Dawn was not a sith, he was not beyond redemption.

“I am a jedi, to a jedi all life is sacred, it does not say all life but that of a sith. No it says all life. And now you know why though we have lost many battels I know that the Sith is doomed to loose. The only thing stopping the sith from destroying them self is us, there hatred unites them. And since you do not hate the jedi, you probably the worst sith out there. So tell me Dawn, are you truly a SITH, because all I see is someone lost in the darkness.

"Why?" Well there was probably a dozen or so reasons for why the jedi and solider had saved Dawn's life, well for the jedi it was plain as day, but for the solider it wasn't so, as one part of him could have "accidently" forget about Dawn and simply left the sith to drown..a pitiful way to die.

"Why..well it's true that I could have left you to drown..however there are families here...had this been on the battlefield..well I might have left you to die...or maybe not"Jaz said pausing to let his answer sink in before he carried on

"Although my code wouldn't allow me to do that..and besides..we're on a resort planet and we're here to relax..and get away from the stresses of life..regardless of what life we're leading, good or the bad"Jaz added looking at the sith as the man took his hand and pulled himself onto his feet though he still though about what he might do if the exact same thing happened only on a different planet

Dawn just looked at them both, a bit dumbfounded at how honest and potentially even caring these people were being. Coming from a world where darkness and secrecy were your two greatest allies...these concepts were completely foreign to him.

He listened to the soldier speak first, doing nothing as he spoke. He processed what had just happened: his supposed enemy, and someone who most likely had some reason to hate the Sith...they had saved his life. And for no reason, according to this man...other than some sort of code he lived by and that it was a place to relax. "True...we are here to just...relax...I guess..." he muttered as he looked down at the sand, drawing shapes in it with his foot, idly.

Then the Jedi spoke. At first he was just dumbfounded like he originally had been...but his challenge at the end brought him back to reality and allowed him to speak clearly despite all the conflicting emotions flooding him. He realized...it was his chance to finally get the pain he had felt for so long off his chest. These people wouldn't care...they weren't agents of the Imperium...they weren't ready to add a derogatory note on your psychological profile if you told them the wrong thing. They didn't despise weakness...and somehow...he felt that getting rid of some of this conflict would make him stronger. "I told you both already...I am no Sith...for years, that's what I was. I was lost in their darkness. I wore their garb, I used their abilities, I followed their orders, I let myself be molded by their philosophies, I revered, almost worshipped the Darths above me...but then I realized just how idiotic the Sith really are. Even from the very beginning...their very idea of the meaning of life...power...that was never something I wanted by itself. I wanted...I wanted revenge on a world that had hated me."

He clenched his fists and shed a tear as he raised his silvery eyes, tainted with the gold of the Dark Side, to them both, his gaze hard, filled with determination. "But I was younger then. Immature. Too easily did I allow myself to be used by them. I evolved beyond that. I know what I want in life. And I'll get it. With my own bare hands if I have to...but I am not lost. And I never will be again." he sighed and began to smile, turning his attention to the Jedi. "If anything...Jedi...you are the one lost...lost to your own ideas of peace and harmony...you forget you live in a world that fears you...they revere your abilities, perhaps, but they see you as nothing more than sorcerors and conjurors of fear...despite your good intentions...despite everything you do to make the world a better place...it will all be futile. You will still be hated...the fear in the hearts of all will overcome them. You will never instill the love and peace you wish to spread...the very life you call sacred is far too selfish and weak to follow your lead. I pity you Jedi...your intentions are so noble...so pure...but they will never come to pass...you can continue on your fruitless, unappreciated journey for peace, and hope somehow that your "Light" will guide you...but you shall inevitably fail."

He turned to them both, his smile somewhat lessened "I learned that peace and hope for all could never exist a long time ago...not in the way the Jedi envision it. Not with their ideals of passive reaction that they so value. No...if you want peace...if you want love...you must force it on them. You must put them into a situation where love and mutual respect is the only hope for survival...you must do everything in your power to change people...not just guide them to change. It goes for everything in life to happen. You must make it happen with your own power. There is no one in this world you can truly rely on except for yourself. Both of you...remember that if you ever want to get anywhere with whatever goals you have. Especially you..." he said, turning to the man. "I pity that the Force may not entirely be in your grasp...but there are ways to get what you want without it. Learn how to get what you want as quickly as possible...and I assure you...your life will change for the better. There are many stories of great men who have surpassed Jedi and even Sith in their abilities and deeds...become one of those men."

He smiled wider as his confidence returned from his moment of weakness earlier. "So...anyways...since I'm not beyond admitting that I owe you both my life...do either of you want a candy bar?"

Jake smilled as he let Dawn speak. Aftwards with his gave a littel laugh.
"I knew you where no Sith, I mean could you imagen a Sith finding this place relaxing" Jake then laugh at the though of of a crusty old Sith in a speedo.

"And Dawn I am not lost nore unawar of the problem's you speak of. To most people in the galaxy there is no difrence between a Sith and a Jedi and most that do know the difrence see the Jedi as cowards. This does not worry me, a Jedi must be prepared to make the suprem sacrifice if needed. So if people mock or fear us I do not worry about it,since I prepared for far worse. And yes I know full well our task is hard but we far stronger than the sith care to admit. Any case if history has taught us 2 things, it is one a single Jedi is all that is needed to bring order and 2 a sith empire never lasts beyond it' first ruller's, they tend to destroy them selfs. And jaz, be glad you not a sith or jedi our lives are so much more complicated and stressfull"

Jake thought about the candy bar for a miller secoand. "Sure I will have a candy bar"

Jaz listened to what Dawn had to say nodding at times as the sith spoke to him, especially when Dawn told Jaz to become a great man who surpassed both jedi and sith in terms of deeds and ability sound advice..even if it was from a sith although to become a "great" man as Dawn spoke off that was going to take a lot of time and effort.

Great men with abilities surpassing both the jedi and sith... Jaz thought to himself rubbing his chin as he thought to himself before listening to what the jedi Jake had to say and nodded his head well it was true was Jaz force-sensitive things would have been every more complicated and stressful..wait stressful what Jaz had been doing before and after joining the hutt cartel was stressful.

"Actually being a pilot is more stressful than being a jedi or sith"well in Jaz's eyes what he had said was true as he had to learn how to fly starfighters and at the same time learn to dogfight against other fighters, and doing that in a proper fight was probably more nerve-wracking

Jake gave a little chuckle "Have you never thought that perhaps many Jedi and Sith are pilots."

(It's taken me forever to get to this, so I apologize XD)

"...I admire you, Jedi. You have strength. Even though it is blind...it is still powerful." He smiled almost mischeviously as he added, somewhat ominously "But don't say I didn't warn you when your world comes crashing down..."

Dawn tossed them both one of the candy bars he had stashed in the pocket of his robes and proceeded to gnaw on the one he had yet to finish silently, placing a hand on his still sore chest as he finally began to take it all in.

They saved me...an enemy...for no reason other than goodwill... He took a moment to think it through...he hadn't even been given recognition during his early life other than beatings from dear old dad...and he didn't get much more during his time with the Sith. But during this one moment out of the millions he'd experienced, someone had truly cared about him...at least enough to save him from death. He smiled; this world could be saved after all, perhaps...purified. Made new. He had been ready to give up on his dreams...but this very moment...it gave him new hope. One day, this world would be united under one banner. The banner of the new dawn. And he would be its vanguard.

He looked over to the other two casually as he slipped out of his reverie.

"I pilot..." he said, coughing slightly. "Fighters to be specific. Never found it stressful in the slightest. I even got called out to serve in the Imperial Navy for a while. It was an unnecessary distraction from training...but it was a blast."

"I pilot...Fighters to be specific"...Jaz after hearing that groaned to himself quietly as it was almost like Dawn was mocking him for having his own fighter..however it was then that he remember Jake talking about the starfighter that he flew, this caused the man to crouch on the sand completely and utterly depressed as Jaz didn't have a fighter at all...imagine that a starfighter pilot...with no fighter to pilot how ironic

".....No fair" Jaz mumbled quietly before he rose back onto his feet moments before the sith tossed over a candy bar, taking a bite into it before hearing what Jake had to say before rubbing the back of his head

"True...well in that case I haven't fought against a sith or jedi in space..I've mostly dealt with pirates"Jaz muttered remembering his time in the 112nd mynock squadron well before the GA broke apart and Jaz simply drifted away.

Jake could feel the disappointment in Jazz and though it was a low mumble Jake heard his disappointment to.

"well Jazz I don't own a fighter any more than you owned the one you flew in the GA. In fact I own nothing really. all my clothes, money, gear are not mine. I was orphaned as a baby and raised by the order. So every thing but my lighsaber is technically not mine."

Dawn laughed as he heard the man mumble and crouch on the ground, looking like his family had just died right before his eyes. "Oh come on...aren't you supposed to be happy after you save someone's life? Give yourself a pat on the back or a round of applause? I've met alchemical monsters that are less depressing than you are." Of course it was an exaggeration...he actually felt sorry for those poor bastards...they didn't deserve the so-called life they had gotten via some Sith's insane desire to play god. But it certainly didn't come out that way when he mouthed off like that. Oh well...the less human he seemed to these people, the better. They had seen him in his moment of weakness, and that was something he wanted to cover up immediately. He hated feeling vulnerable.

But, the more empathic Jedi seemed to have a grasp on what the man thought wasn't fair. He was a pilot that didn't own a ship...how unfortunate. Being a pilot himself, he couldn't even imagine what would happen if he had lost his own fighter. But, as enterprising as he was...he found a solution to the man's problem that could benefit both him and Dawn. Of course, he'd have to interest him in working with a Sith in front of a Jedi of all people...but it was worth a shot.

"Ah, I see...no ship. I can fix that problem, if you'd like," he said with a smile. There would be strings attached...but the most important part of persuasion was the hook. And honesty wasn't always the right tactic to use. He had played the game of the Sith for a long time, and despite his pride getting in the way, he became exceedingly good at it.

Well that made no sense...at least in the mind of the pilot it made no sense with what Dawn had said about alchemical monsters being less depressing than him wait what on earth was alchemical monsters anyway?...

"Not going to ask"Jaz said answering his own mental question probably confusing the two force users infront of him well no matter, he saved a sith nothing more, nothing less even if the sith infront of him was suppose to be a enemy, hell when the sith was drowning he could have pulled out his pistol and ended the guy's life right there and just be like one less sith to worry about and just go back to relaxing without a care in the world

"Ah, I see...no ship. I can fix that problem, if you'd like" this interested the pilot abit but he wasn't going to show it, for all he knew it was a trap to get the man killed or forced to serve against his will against the sith's enemy

"Go ahead..I'm listening but I won't decide on anything until I have time to think"Jaz commented letting the sith know that he wasn't going to be that easy to fool into a completely one-sided agreement..only a fool would make a agreement without knowing all of the details and the possible pitfalls such a agreement would bring

He smiled; he had expected the pilot to be somewhat wary of dealing with the Sith or the Imperium's bureaucracy. But, he was inherently an honest person, even when twisting the truth. Hopefully the Jedi wouldn't mind his little proposal. It was quite harmless.

"I have connections from my time in the Navy...I technically own a top of the line TIE interceptor though I don't use it. Legally as well...The Navy practically gave it to me." He smiled. "And you can have it, all to yourself, even if you belong to some sort of Rebel group. Of course, I highly doubt that...I can tell you're the kind of man who's smart enough to realize a lost cause when he sees it. But I want something for it. Specifically...you will teach me all you know about piloting. Simple as that. I admit...though I spent time working in a fighter squad, I never saw that much action, and I relied on my Sensitivity more than anything else. You see...I need the skill of a seasoned veteran like you to assist me. To polish my unfurnished abilities. To tutor me in private sessions, if you will...if I attempt to get someone from the Navy to train me, I'd have to either pay them or rejoin the Navy of my own accord, which are two things I simply don't plan on doing. 'Tis an unfortunate predicament...but it's one that you can help me out with. Also...if you're a good boy...I might just recommend you to a high-ranking position in the Navy. You might even become an officer...and even if not, just think about it. Only a few weeks of your time, and you get the kind of fighter that a civilian like you would be begging for. No strings attached. You saved my life...it's the best I can offer you. Besides perhaps another free candy bar."

Jake did not know what to say, he did not trust the empire but Dawn had shown littel hostilty and Jake trusted him.

"Be carful when you make deals and insure you know all the details Jazz. Though I will not concil you to say no I will point out that you are a Hut and though I have no love for the hut the sith are at war with you. So be carefully"

Jaz stood there and listened intently as Dawn spoke so the man had connections to the imperium navy and had a top of the line that he could give Jaz in return for teach the sith how to pilot, however when he heard the part of Jaz being a seasoned veteran, Jaz couldn't help but laugh abit ah he should really correct the man about this

"A seasoned veteran you say?..I don't think I could class myself as that all I fought against were pirates who were mixed in their experience..rather against the trained pilots of the imperium navy.."Jaz said before he carried on listening to the offer, although it sounded more like a offer for defection than anything else.

That sound too good to be true there has to be a catch Jaz thought to himself looking at Dawn, he had heard stories...and rumors that the sith were good at hiding small catches within their deals although what he heard next surprised him.

"..."it was by then that Dawn had finished talking and then Jake added his comment in, and gave a really good point to it..the hutts and the sith imperium were at war..so if he was to train Dawn in say sith territory Jaz had no chance..even if it was in neutral space..there was no guarantees that a squadron won't be waiting to take him out...

"...."there was a few moments of silence where the redhead rubbed his chin thinking of the different choices he could take..but..he wasn't really expecting a reward..and that was just the small problem with what Dawn was telling him..it sounded like a reward for saving him

"...."he had no idea what to choose..he knew that if the hutts caught wind of Jaz training a sith to pilot questions might be asked..especially since the two groups were at war..and if he agreed then...

"I'm sorry but I can't agree to it..there are too many unknowns involved..and too much risk involved..regarding the bigger picture..besides I wasn't looking for a reward when I saved you...and even if you did manage to get me a high ranking position..i can see things not going well for me..beside i'm not officer material at all"Jaz replied shakin his head slightly before he finally got around to tying his hair into a pony tail..hopefully his answer didn't strike a harsh note to the sith..but he did answer rather honestly
