BIOGRAPHY
Whether he actually hailed from the Outer Rim planet or not was as much of a mystery as most things surrounding the man. He had the wisdom of age plastered in his face, and he walked burdened by the injuries of war. Why exactly he took such an interest in the amnesiac, scrawny girl remains a mystery to even the girl herself to this day, but he did, and he made sure that the youngest member of his cell grew up to be a capable freedom fighter.
Where other children learned games and crafts, this girl learned war. Weapons, explosives, vehicles and all manners of tactics, sabotage and infiltration were only part of her curriculum. Valuing an educated, sharp mind above all, The Tarisian made sure that his young ward's studies also included more academical pursuits. Naturally, this amounted in no small part to the introduction of The Tarisian's anti-imperialist, anti-authoritarian ideology, to which the girl took like a moth to flame.
The Tarisian opposed the Empire, but he was no supporter of the Republic or indeed of most inter-galactic governments and organizations, which just as readily engaged in imperialist conducts. His young recruit, now a woman grown, spent many years by his side going from one end of the galaxy to the next, leaving fire and freedom in their wake where there flew the flags of the Empire and occasionally other ideological enemies.
Bombings, raids, and sabotage were the least of their crimes. The Tarisian taught her both to not enjoy killing and to never hesitate when it was necessary. A self-proclaimed scholar, he held a certain respect for the Jedi Order and studied their beliefs and codes. Like many, he was outraged when they were cast out by the Republic, vindicating his hostility towards it.
The death of her mentor, much to Anja's surprise, was not the result of some daring feat or heroic last stand. A raid on their current base of operations by Imperials caught them unprepared, and the man she had learned so much from was unceremoniously riddled to death by blaster fire before he even had the chance to draw his own.
Those who managed to escape were now too few to be called a cell. Some went on to join other groups and organizations. Others took to organized crime, while others simply left the lifestyle behind. But not her. She remembered his first lesson: "Only death ends the struggle".
She disagreed.
The man might have died, but his struggle was still very much alive in her. Bathed and baptized in the blood of her dead comrades, she took on a new name, so that he might become immortal. To the memory of her teacher, her commander, her father, she made a promise: that for as long as she lived, so too would he live on, for she would carry on his fight and his dream. In more ways than one.
