The Idea
In the aftermath of the war against the Jedi and the Galactic Alliance, the Mandalorians were once again left a shell of their former glory. Petty disputes and disagreements between the clan leaders had left a sense of alienation among the people, the only exception being the staunch Protectors. With the desire of re-establishing bonds, and promoting unity and companionship among the clan leaders and their charges, a simple tournament had been created.

If one thing is definitive about Mandalorians, it is that they love to fight. The tournament aimed at strengthening bonds, bonds between members of different clans, since it is believed that one can become closer to another through combat. It was a no kill tournament, and the participants could rely only on their bare hands, their strengths, and other tactics capable of being utilized in the arena erected for this event.

The Arenas
While the tournament is aimed at promoting bonds, it is also to keep those involved on their feet. There are several arena setups, some mimicking potential combat scenarios that could be encountered in real war. The setting for the fight is picked at random from those available, as well as the participants being matched at random. The settings are as follows.

  1. The Beachfront

    • The fighters begin twenty meters apart from one another, armed with training versions of whatever weapons they would normally carry with the exception of blasters. It is a simple enough setup, both fighters beginning on the sand, with solid earth fifteen meters away on one side, and ocean fifteen meters away on the other side. There is a 100x100 meter fence surrounding the area; and if either of the participants are forced outside of the fence, they lose.
  2. The Quadrangle

    • The fighters begin twenty-five meters apart from one another, armed with training versions of whatever weapons they would normally carry with the exception of the blasters. It is another simple enough setup, having a completely black 100x100 meter barrier (this time with a roof), with a single large fire sitting between the two warriors, and the only source of light within the room.
  3. The Arbitrator

    • The fighters begin twenty meters apart from one another, armed with training versions of whatever weapons they would normally carry with the exception of blasters. It is a simple enough setup, with a 100x100 meter fence surrounding the area, and five trees, all ten meters apart from one another, forming an "X" through the arena. If either of the participants are forced outside of the fence, they lose.

This time, high above, there is a random weather generator. The conditions are not preset, and will mimick anything and everything such as light to severe snow and cold, heat, rain, etc..

Rules, Regulations, and Otherwise
There is only one rule in the tournament: do not kill your opponent. This is a tournament to promote and strengthen bonds among the Mandalorian people, and the clan leaders. Killing is strictly forbidden, and there will be severe repercussions for those who disobey this rule.

The matchings are done at random, and the tournament will function the same as any other tournament: by bracketts. Any and all Mandalorians are permitted to enter the tournament, including any clan and organization leaders. While in the tournament, they are to be treated no differently than any other Mandalorian. They do not get special treatment, priviledges, bonuses, or equipment. Everyone is equal in this tournament, and all participants are expected to treat their fellow combatants as such.

Humble in victory, graceful in defeat.

Prizes and Rewards
First Place
Choice between a full beskar weapon, or a full beskar helmet
A blood stripe, painted by the Mandalore himseslf

Semi-Finalists
First Runnerup (Second Place)
Full set of beskar-titanium alloy armor

Second Runnerup (Third Place)
Beskar-titanium alloy weapon of choice

For vode who show exceptional combat skill, bravery, resolve, fearlessness, intelligence, tactical skills, or numerous other combat qualities will have the potential of being adorned with Jaig Eyes. Even those who may be knocked out of the first few rounds. Other potential prizes included brand new ships from MandalMotors.

That's the general idea, though it's still in it's rough planning stages right now. I also haven't decided on what the prize will be for the person who wins the tournament, or the runner ups.

As you can guess, it will be a PvP tournament with a strict no-kill rule. Hopefully it will help with promoting activities between clans and, if nothing else, may promote a little recruitment.

I'm open to suggestions as well, so if you have any, please do share them. I want this to go off smoothly, and all input is appreciated.

Ok, here we go. I like the idea of a tournament. It's about time we had one, and as long as it doesn't get out of hand in the later rounds, like the last one, it should work out relatively well. The addition of the boundaries is interesting, along with the battlefield obstacles. Real weapons might lead to some accidents, so you might want to move to training weapons. Some of the younger warriors don't have the control to pull a killing blow.

Now as to prizes... I'm not quite sure. Maybe a new weapon, or piece of tech. A promotion in my mind is premature, because good in the arena doesn't mean a good leader.

Those are my comments right now. I'll update if I think of anything else.

Good idea, Nevermore. I was gonna make a tournament like this back when I was Mandalore, but I never got around to it >,.,< Life and stuff got in the way.

As for the prize to the winner, it should be obvious. Beskar. Unless said winner possesses a beskar weapon or armour. We could also let the winner, or anyone whom performs exceptionally well otherwise (like displaying an extreme level of skill with something), could get the honour of wearing Jaig eyes on their bucket, or potentially a Blood Stripe. Perhaps give out a Haran'kad to those whom reach the semi-finals?

And Sisk, what promotions? We don't have ranks.

That's sorta where the Sigil system comes in. More sigils means a more experienced warrior.

Semi-Finalists
Haran'kad inscribed with contestant's name and place

Decided to write that up given your suggestions.

@Sisk: I'll go ahead and rewrite that draft to include training weapons. I had considered the possibility of fatal mistakes myself, and couldn't quite conjure a way to get past it. The idea of training weapons will certainly help though.

Better make that beskar armor just a few pieces. Like a chest plate and gauntlets, or buy'ce and shoulder pads. Only the top three mando's in the faction can wear full beskar.

Editted, permitting the first place winner to make it a combination of their choice. May have to say "with the exception of chest/legs combo". Dunno. That's why I posted this up for discussion.

Excellent idea, Nevermore.

What about a full set of beskar-titanium alloy armor? Maybe it could be just below the pure beskar weapon/armor pieces? In fact, instead of two random armor pieces, why not something specific like a helmet? So the grand prize could be a choice between a forged beskar melee weapon or helmet. The second place prize could be a full set of beskar-titanium alloy armor. The third place prize could be a beskar-titanium alloy melee weapon. We could be just as specific with the melee weapon choices, too. We could say the grand prize weapon is a beskad or a bes'bev. The third place prize could be a dagger.

Then we could have an assortment of prizes that are awarded to combatants regardless of who won or lost. Those would be given based on how well they fought. For instance, someone who displayed incredible skill with a specific weapon or martial art might get a brand new ship from MandalMotors. Just an idea.

Could you make the blood stripe part of the first place prize? It makes more sense that way, considering blood stripe bearers are the elite of the elite. I could have Corden paint it on the victor himself.

Hah. That's a good idea. Added. Should the eyes be removed as well? Also, I'm adding this to the main thread so I don't have to keep reposting it. Should've have done that earlier.

Is it going to be a tier system? Start with eight, then four, then two sort of deal?

That's a tough part about being a clan leader. Can't go show the young'uns a thing or two in a tournament.

Nope. People in the tournament are left entirely to their own devices, with no additional help.

Yeah. But what would I do with a new Beskar weapon? The only ones that I don't have made out of it is my rifle and pistols.

I dunno. You're not required to enter the tournament, nor are you guarenteed to win. If you do, and you really don't want it, pass it off to someone else.
