it is. but it is most people's faults for going with it. if they hadn't, there wouldnt be as many bad vampire movies as it had explained.

I don't think this is 'true'. It just seems like a rant to me. It just talks about how the author feels about certain things. And the author is often very politically incorrect. The frame of references are terribly skewed from the beginning and the contextualization of vampires is completely off.

that may be true, but the way most people see vampires is much different than it used to be.

True Blood jumped the shark, now it's retarded softcore porn with a bullshit twist.

I thought the article was pretty baller, because vampires have gotten so...gay, really. And I don't mean gay as in, like, they are stupid or some derogatory offshoot of the word. I literally mean they are becoming super homosexual.

Like Edward from Twilight, he definitely should be having sex with men instead of that hot stoic girl.

What the **** happened to Vlad The Impaler? We definitely need to get back on that track. He was such as awesome vampire.

Not exactly.

More likely... They've become perverted by writers trying to milk a profit out of angst ridden teenage girls.

I've read the books, and twilight isn't about vampires. There is nothing vampire about them. She could have called it something else...

anyways, I just noticed that they've been changed, and not for the better.

Suave, stylish, actually monstrous children of the night were a lot better because they allowed for other kinds of stories than just bad teenage romances.

And they were iconic. Edward is not iconic. He is angsty and covered in glitter.

****ing people are obsessed with Twilight, and it isn't the stupid aren't the majority, they are the loudest. They are the majority. I have heard so many stories about how girls break up with a guy and say he isn't her Edward.
Who by the way is an abusive creep.

There are people who genuinely like Twilight? It just seems that everyone seems to love to hate it but I haven't really seen people who actually love it.

To who's post do you refer when you say 'not exactly'?

All vampires are, and have always been, stories (possibly based in some misconstrued truth). So for you to say that the most recent writers of vampire fiction are 'perverting' or twisting (an already twisted tale) implies that none of the story tellers before them did either. Which isn't true on any level.

I don't see how you can say the blood suckers in Twilight aren't vampires. Blood sucking is the very definition of vampires. If they suck blood (or any other vital essence of life), they can accurately be called a vampire. I don't see what the problem is. There are many variations of vampires all around the world.

Also, Twilight's Edward is arguably iconic. He represents the perfect guy. He is the Adonis of our times. Or rather, he is supposed to be. Understandably, he's not everyone's cup of tea, but obviously, a lot of girls wish they could have him with cream and sugar.

Vampires are pansies...werewolves are where its at! All hail the Lycans!!! (and not the gay Twilight werewolves I mean the badass Underworld and Van Helsing werewolves.!!)

Well, the werewolves you are referencing in Twilight aren't actually supposed to be werewolves at all. They are in (fictional) fact Native American shape shifters. Werewolves, as you know them I suppose, do exist in the Twilight world, but are only mentioned and make no appearance.

And yes I have seen some who love it. But more only like it. And there are many in some circles who hate it.

I myself think that it is an overrated book.

I hope this entire discussion/ thread won't evolve into a Twilight debate.:CDumb:

For some odd reason, this entire thread gives me the urge to write a story about a disfigured man, turned Vampire from a fat Italian Vampire, whose only goal is his own gluttony and perverting the human society by merely twisting ideals and using the lack of faith in a god to his advantage. But then again, I don't feel like wasting the time just to get some silly point across, so there goes my idea for a fun twist on the hollywood vampire.

Em likes it a lot. Apparently it's a BFD with teenage girls.

I would just like to point out that at one point, Werewolves and Vampires were considered the same creature.

In which culture? Do you have some source you could cite for me? I am very curious about this.
