It had been a while since Param had visited the halls of Umbara. She had been with Master Thel to meet a returning friend of his. What she managed to witness instead of nothing short of an exiling; a very painful exiling. Something she wished she didn't have to see again, much like the Kesh on Mustafar. The more she learned of the Sith, the more she learned she wasn't truly ever really free.

Her visit this time wouldn't be so gloomy. There was a class happening, one that she intended to participate in. Cyu had gifted her a seed, and she had every intention of unlocking it's true potential. To do that she would need alchemy. Dressed in her black hooded robes and trousers, lightsaber hilt danging from the belt, she made her way through the halls until finally coming to the classroom in question. It was a fairly large room, with individual desks and tables in neat columns and rows. Each desk had flasks and vials and everything the students were going to need for the alchemy they were learn.

Param took a look around the room, sauntering toward one of the desks in the front row. Silver eyes searching every rustic bookcase and jutting piece of architecture. The academy really was a nice place, considering it lived on a perpetually dark planet. She wondered why Master Thel hadn't just trained her here, though it made some sense he'd want to be as close to home as possible. How different would we training have been if she had been trained here instead of Troiken?

She sat down in the chair at the desk, noticing that at the very center of the desk was a thick book. Absent mindedly, she opened it and began flipping through the old pages, eyes taking in the graphics and titles. Param frowned, if she had felt comfortable bringing Vee along, she could have had her little droid buddy commit every page to his data bank for later use, but a classroom was no place for a chattery droid. Her face lit up with a smile as the next page she turned talked about using alchemy on plants. She stopped flipping deciding to try to read further. "So cool," she mused quietly.

Trael had his standard sith loadout on. Armor, Lightsabers the works but he wasn't going to the dueling room to spar. He even walked past the meditation chamber one of his favorite areas of the academy. No today he was tackling a fearsome task one that would push him to his limits. He opened the door to his new test Param wait that wasn't right he thought. She's here well that isn't good. There last adventure if you could called it that ended awkwardly.

Taking a seat in the back of the room he busied himself reading through the book on the desk. Mostly to try and avoid conversation. Until a section caught his eye weapon enhancing oils and other weapon related alchemy. Jackpot it was as if the dark side itself gifted him. He began reading the section intently trying to absorb it all.

Jadis was relatively new to the Academy on Umbara, but eager to learn the secrets that dwelled within. Unfortunately this meant that she had a hard time finding the classroom after spending a few more moments than she found ideal wandering the halls. She walked into the classroom last, noting that it was a small showing, and walked up to the front to sit down next to a white haired woman.

Jadis wore a robe and trousers that held a bit more color than the severe black and black and more black that most Sith acolytes tended to wear. Her master had advised her not to stand out, so she had kept it simple and concealing, and while black was definitely her color, she couldn't help but flout the authority just a little bit. Her clothing still held to the general Sith principles of red and black however.

Taking her seat, Jadis looked at the thick tome that sat on the desk. It was intimidating, but filled with the knowledge that she craved. Cracking it open to the first page, she started eagerly devouring the words that were scrawled there, and then on the next, and the next. She only briefly broke her concentration to steal a few covert glances over at the young woman sitting next to her. Her master had warned her about getting too close to other Sith, to treat everyone as a potential threat or rival.

The door opened on its own and in strode a pureblood dressed in sweeping, black robes. He carried himself with grace, his harsh yellow gaze briefly sweeping over them all before he moved to stand behind the desk up front, “No foolish saber waving in this class,” He said icily in his thickly foreign accent. He didn't have any desire to even see a saber hilt in the class, “Most do not appreciate or understand alchemy.”

He wasn’t impressed by the students, but perhaps they would prove him wrong. He was already irritated at having to share any of his knowledge, but even he couldn’t deny that arts such as alchemy could be lost without sharing the knowledge.

“At each desk there are a series of ingredients,” If they looked, they would find an assortment of plants, bugs and powders. Their instructions were listed next to them to crush the bugs, cut the plants perfectly and mix it all into a pot, “The incantation is in ur-Kittât. Do not say in Basic,” He reminded them curtly. He already knew he was going to cringe at hearing them speak his native tongue with their atrocious accents, “You make a poison today,” He informed them. In truth, it was nothing more than a potion that would give them severe diarrhea, “And you make antidote.”

He crossed his arms over his chest, “You must focus with Force and let it guide. If you focus too much on line by line, you will make mistake,” It was paradoxical, but that was what set apart the true savants of alchemy from the basic textbook users, "Now. Begin on poison."

For this round, roll a d20 on how well your character follows the instructions to make the poison. That'll determine the mod for the next round!

Param's eyes widened as the Champion entered the class room. She had seen him twice before, once here on Umbara and again on Mustafar. He was not someone she wanted to cross in any way. Laying her hands in her lap, her back straightened. The posture was way too uncomfortable to keep going for long, but she was too afraid to not hold it. The man was scary.

Listening to their teacher's instructions, she waited for him to finish. The moment he said begin, Param read over the instructions, taking the process slow and smooth. She crushed the bugs, placing them into the pot first, then cut the leaves and put those in the pot. She did as the instructor had said, focusing less on the instructions themselves, and more on letting the Force guide her through the process, she was ready to start the incantation.

The Force flowed through her into the pot. She closed her silver eyes, letting the incantation come from the Force instead of the paper. "Su sis, Nu fasona zo uzkres." The concoction bubbled for a moment, and she was done, looking down at a successul, though not very powerful poison. Oh. Maybe she could do this after all. A smile spread across her lips.

Trael had known the teacher from previous meetings. He was one of the few living purebloods he's met in the order. He listened to the purebloods instructions. Once he was told to begin he followed the instructions. Following then to precisely what the said he had reached the point of the incantation.

Putting the force into the pot. He began attempting to read the incantation from the book failing miserably every time. If anyone had passed the classroom they would think a Tusken was just learning common. Eventually out of anger and desperation he shouted his completely mispronounced incantation at the pot and it began to bubble. He had a satisfied look on his face as he started to relax and look up to his teacher.

Jadis looked up from the book she was studying, torn from its pages by the sudden voice that echoed through the halls. She blinked. When had the teacher arrived?

It was irrelevant as he launched into instruction, what little there was. She glanced around as the others began before turning her attention the page with instructions. She took a deep breath, and began.

Her skills with the physical materials were not in question as she began the preparations. It wasn't so different from making her own paints from natural ingredients with her mother or the cosmetics and fragrances she had mixed with her father growing up. No it was in the Ur-kittat which she lacked. Stumbling through the pronunciation threw off her groove as she followed the instructions, forcing her out of any sort of workflow as she mixed ingredients and chanted the foreign language.

It was a stretch to call it chanting as she butchered the words with an unfamiliar tongue. As the mix bubbled and frothed Jadis knew almost certainly that it wasn't quite right in the completion. It's hue seemed off as she glanced between it and her white haired neighbors completed poison. Almost a sickly diarrhea green. Her face grew pale as she looked up at the teacher. Well, paler.
