With the Battle of Coruscant winding down and the time skip approaching in the next few weeks, I’m sure everyone still has some unanswered questions. The think tank is currently finishing all the write ups so there’s way, way too much to share in an update like the ones I did a few weeks back, so I’m going to try something else:

Ask us any question you have about anything regarding the time skip. Whatever it is, we’ll answer it if we can. Go!

Something I've been curious of, and not sure if these have been answered yet, is both 'how will the Jedi forums appear after the timeskip?' 'Will the Sith be loved, or hated' 'Will there be a return of Legacy quests in the turn like the ones Xeno did where opposing sides will have to work together?'

And most importantly to me, 'Are the Hutt's allegiances going to be unbiased, allowing for alliances to form based on how the FLs believe their factions would interact, such as the Hutts being likely to be double dealing double dealing? Or will the Sith simply be given another immediate enemy in the form of every mercenary aligned with the Hutts?'

To answer some of your questions, because I can.

1. No, there will not. The staff has already decided against this, sadly.
3. Of course.
4. Depends on the individual faction leaders. The Admins won't run parties, factions and FLs will. Though I can tell you now the Sith may or may not be planning a little party after the timeskip ;)

Could be. We decide on time skips based on whether we feel the current status quo is languishing and we need to shake things up a little. My guess is that this is the last one, but I couldn't tell you.

What will be the Major factions and which of the current factions will be relegated to minor factions?

Majors: New Jedi Order, Rebellion, New Sith Imperium, and the Hutt Cartel.

Mandalorians and Chiss will be relegated to minor factions, with the Mandalorians breaking into different clans. Each clan can be an independent faction.

Forums haven't been decided yet. That's a last minute cosmetic thing.

The Sith will still be well-liked in their territory for now, given the massive propaganda machine. Different planets in the former Alliance territory will likely have their own feelings based on their own interests. Some might ally with the Sith, some might eventually declare allegiances with the Rebels, etc -- though at the same time, we've never really put any emphasis on planetary happenings so that's not a very big factor. For the most part, though, aside form the worlds the Sith took over, nearly half of the galaxy will be independent/free space.

Right now, with Legacies, my hope is to have all quests somehow connected to the Skywalker story and our other plans for the finale of the site's lore (since those are intertwined). When we started, we just wanted lore tie-ins but had no direction. Now we have direction. Boli and I know how we want the site's lore to end before the reboot.

The Hutts aren't allied with anyone. They're playing all sides based on their own interests. We have an event in the history of the time skip called the Bacta Crisis where there is a massive shortage of bacta, and the Hutt Cartel owns the controlling interest in the Bacta Cartel. So, the Hutts pretty much have a shield from being attacked by anyone because if anyone attacks them, they destroy the bacta supply and suddenly the war becomes the most destructive one in galactic history. The other factions won't want to risk that, so the Hutts have a degree of immunity to do whatever they want.

Yes and no. This timeline, for a long time, has felt like the logical conclusion of the site's lore, so we want to end it on our terms in an epic way rather than dragging it out. I've never heard of a RP site going for 10 years choosing to end its own decade-long lore on their terms and in the most epic way possible, so being able to have an ending is really awesome -- especially for those of us who have been here the whole time. We're really excited for everyone to be part of this.

Additionally, by the time we reboot in early 2015 (that's the current goal, after our 10 year anniversary in January 2015), we can create a timeline that is both good and can attract the influx of people we're bound to get because of Episode VII.

1. No, it's up to users to create independent factions. We don't really get involved in that. The IK were once a main faction, yes, and it's based in canon, but in our opinion it's no different than any other indie faction. Though that's not the best example, though, since they're going to be a Rebel cell, i.e. part of a main faction.

3. Yes, we will have events here and there.

4. Parties have almost always been organized by members so it's up to RPers.

People shouldn't really worry about a reboot that is two years from now. Focus on the now.

Yes, the 6 character limit is remaining.

Yeah, once the write ups are done I can say "Ok, 2 weeks from today, go finish your threads!"

We haven't decided yet. That'll be done with the board structure decision.

Yes, right before the skip. The forum will go down, we'll implement the restructuring (hopefully most of it will be done in private boards beforehand), and then when the forum goes online again, the skip will be live.
