DESCRIPTION
The TL-1200 light freighter is a model of transport manufactured by Suwantek Systems, an Outer Rim-based corporation which mainly produces products for the independent and small fleet cargo market. Predating the somewhat more popular TL-1800 freighter, the TL-1200 is a larger, somewhat higher capacity design, although production has been winding down in recent years in favor of newer models.The TL-1200 is, overall, a solid ship, with a crew of 6, accommodations for 8 passengers, 3 months of consumables and hold space for 150 tons of cargo. The ship is notable for having a backup class 10 hyperdrive, unusual for its price-point. Its primary hyperdrive is class 2, and is Suwantek's own StarBurn 4 design, which is famously reliable, needing major maintenance only once a standard year on average.
Overall, TL-1200s are good freighters, but are generally uncommon outside the Outer Rim, as larger companies hold sway in other markets. The type remains popular with independent freighter captains despite its age, being sturdy and easy to maintain.
