Ask To be Forged

[Yvain]

The forest moon of Duxn reminded Yvain much of the current homeworld of the Jedi. Though were Yavin was more exotic and fruitful, Duxn felt more dangerous and cramped. Perhaps it was the past history of the planet weighing heavily upon The Force which made it feel so, or that unlike Yavin it had not seen the light of The Jedi in many centuries. Though Yvain and the Jedi Padawan he had brought with him, the giant Wookiee Wurfuhlla would hopefully tick part of the later off. The little green Jedi's X-wing was nestled safely away in a clearing about four hundred meters from there final destination.

Yvain himself was sat on a fallen tree trunk giving him some height so the giant Wookiee wouldn't have to look so far down to talk to him. Like always he wore his well used Jedi robes his saber at upon his utility belt. "I hope you rested well on your trip here young Padawan, we have a way of a walk to get to our final destination. And I hope you are ready to for any creepy crawlies we have along the way?" This would be the Wookiee's final trial before Yvain would put forward his name to be risen to the rank of Jedi Knight, though the little Jedi had already spoken to some of the other masters in the Order and it had been agreed that he was ready, Yvain just needed to give the go ahead.

[Wurfuhlla]

Duxn. This place resembled Yavin a little too much. So much jungle around. Wurfuhlla has been on more Jungle planets than not. He was born on Khashyyk, trained on Yavin and now on Duxn. This little green Jedi had reason to bring the Wookiee Padawan, Wurfuhlla, here to this planet. Something was here for the Jedi to find. What ever it is, these two highly motivated, highly dedicated Jedi will be able to find it.

"Rested the best I could. I have dealt with creepy crawlies before, now let us begin our journey."

As the Jedi had been heading through the woods, Wurfuhlla was still unsure of what he was looking for. So the younger but much taller Padawan would look over and speak to the little Jedi on the fallen tree,

"What is it.. that we're searching for?"

[Yvain]

Yvain looked over at the Padawan a smile on his face as usual. "A powerful place, an ancient place." He began scratching his head the sun was beating down between the trees and the forest was humid making him sweat. "Duxn has been a place of pilgrimage for the Jedi for centuries, long before even I was around." He said with a smile. "They would travel here as a test of their strength and knowledge both within ones self and within The Force. For to pass through these trees with nothing but your hands, mind and The Force was the true test to see if one was ready to wield a lightsaber." Standing up on the fallen tree he held out his hand. "That reminds me, hand it over." He said gesturing to the Wookiee's lightsaber.

"Don't worry, it will be safe in here." He said pulling a small little Yvain sized backpack out from behind him.

[Wurfuhlla]

There was so much history to unpack with this planet, and the role that it had once played for the Jedi of the old days. Of the Old Republic even. Wurfuhlla was still wondering why this planet had to be the one out of the whole galaxy. Yvain was a good teacher, despite his informal way of teaching his students. There was reason enough to be here the Wookiee guessed and decided to just make the best of his training while he was here.

The little Jedi Knight, Yvain had then spoke more. Including asking for Wurfuhlla's lightsaber. Notice, he did say saber.. not sabers. Which meant singular. So the Wookiee Padawan would hand over one of his lightsabers, and act as if that was his only. Then he would speak,

"There you go. Now are we ready to continue?"

[Yvain]

As the Wookiee passed over a single lightsaber the Jedi Knight sighed. "You have already seemed to forget or disapprove of the lesson young Wurfuhlla." He said his hand still open. "The task before you is to use everything you have learned up here." He continued tapping on his his head. "And in here." A tap to the chest. "Not what you have learned to do with a lightsaber. Remember you showed me on Yavin that you utilized two sabers, are you telling me you did not bring it? Or are you looking to cheat in your final test?" He raised an eyebrow to the final statement.

[Wurfuhlla]

He caught the test Wurfuhlla had given to the Knight. He was sure that Yvain would notice but a good usage of the words was given by Wurfuhlla he had to admit. The little hand of the jedi stuck out for the other lightsaber was there as he continued with words of a new lesson. It grew just a little annoying but he was right, and Wurfuhlla wasn't actually going to use it.

"No cheating, and I did not forget it."

Wurfuhlla handed the lightsaber over to the Jedi Knight and then continued to say,

"Just giving you a slight test of memory. Guess I am off to see why you brought me here huh?"

What exactly lied ahead? The Wookie Padawan had no clue but it was time to find out. It would lie ahead somewhere down through the jungle and hopefully Wurfuhlla would know exactly what it was when he came across it otherwise this would be one hell of a confusing mission.

[Yvain]

"I may be nearly three centuries old but I am not quite senile yet, little Wurfuhlla." The Jedi Knight replied with a sneaky smile. He placed the secondary lightsaber in the bag and hoisted it up onto his back, set and ready to do he pointed off in the rought direction of the Lightsaber forge and gave the signal for the Wookiee to lead the way.

"You will need to feel out the forge, use The Force to guide you. I will not tell you if you are going the right direction or not, that is up to you." The little Jedi hopped off the fallen tree and fell in line behind the giant Padawan, at least walking behind him would make it easier for him to wade through the thick undergrowth.

[Wurfuhlla]

The Wookiee chuckled at the Jedi's comment on his age. It was good that humor could still be taken by the Knight. It helps to take off the edge of all the seriousness around them throughout the galaxy. The Wookiee Padawan continued to listen to what Yvain had to say, about the Forge and how he needed his own use of the force to tell him where to go.

"Okay.. I'll try to reach out."

Closing his eyes, and taking in a couple deep breaths, Wurfuhlla would reach out with the force for signs of force energy. At first there were minimal connections. Small species or the flora. He couldn't feel the Forge. What did a forge feel like? Was it warm? No it wasn't being used. Was it cold? No this jungle is humid enough to frizz Wurfuhlla's furs.

What exactly could the Wookiee be searching for as far as the feeling through the force? After a long search he felt a faint feeling. It was cold, but not too cold. It had a faint sense of iron to it. It had to be what he was looking for.. right? Yea right, like Wurfuhlla was going to ask if that was the right place...

"I feel something cold, and it has a smell... iron maybe.. is this right?"

Welp.. he did it.

[Yvain]

Yvain always found it interesting when he heard someone speak about how they viewed The Force, everyone was different. When he spoke about how he felt The Force the Jedi Knight smiled. "If it feels right to you Wurfuhlla then yes that is the way." He replied, though he suspected that maybe the Padawan would require a little more explanation. "We all see, feel and view The Force differently so what the Forge feels to me may be differently to how it feels to you. Just trust your instincts and trust in The Force." He finished with a big smile.

From what he could feel they did seem to be going the right way so he did not correct the Padawan and continued following behind. Though through The Force he sensed they were not alone...

[Wurfuhlla]

The force was indeed pretty tricky, but if you let it guide you then it should lead you to where you were going, whatever direction that may be. Wurfuhlla, would let the force be his guide to the forge. Hopefully, it didn't lead through much trouble. Yvain seemed to be sure that the Wookiee Padawan was right within himself and that where Wurfuhlla would go would lead to the right place.

"Okay, well then we go this way."

Wurfuhlla began walking through the trees and brush. There were a lot of small rodent like animals running away and up the trees as the pair of Jedi would pass. Though the Wookiee didn't mind being around animals as small as them it was when Wurfuhlla had felt the presence of a larger animal coming close by.

[Yvain]

Wurfuhlla made the passage through the brush easy for the Jedi Knight in his wake, which was a blessing, the last time he had been here it had taken him twice as long as he thought as he had to jump from tree to tree to avoid the giant grass twice as tall as him. After about fifteen minutes Yvain was confident that they were being stalked, he stepped up closer to the Wookiee, this was his test after all. The Jedi Knight would defend himself but otherwise it was Wurfuhlla that would act.

"We are being watched, if not hunted." He said in a quiet tone, though he could feel the thing was a beast not a man he still acted hesitantly as to not induce an attack when they were so closed in by trees. A few minutes later they entered a small clearing and within a few steps of sunlight they both heard a roar come from the right. Charging through the bush towards them was a Zakkeg, the apex predator of the planet.

With a burst of Force energy Yvain leaped up into the trees around them. "Good luck Wurfuhlla."

[Wurfuhlla]

The brush was rustling and trees shaking. The Wookiee felt their was a large presence nearby and that it was moving closer and closer by the second. When Wurfuhlla went to ask Yvain how he should go about handling the situation, but when the Wookiee Padawan looked to see where the little Jedi was, he was gone. Instead of on the ground like before, he was on a tree branch and wished Wurfuhlla good luck.

"What?"

When the Zakkeg had busted out of the brush and charged at Wurfuhlla, the Wookiee almost froze in fear, but out of instinct alone he jumped. The large beast ran under the Wookiee who flipped through the air and landed on the other side of the beast. It was an ugly creature trying to kill the young Wurfuhlla but, this Padawan was not going down without a fight. The Wookiee noticed the beast turned around and began to charge again towards himself, and used the force to move one of it's legs enough to cause it to lose balance and fall to the ground. It was time to fight.

[Yvain]

Yvain watched from his rather convenient and safe place at the top of the tree as the Wookiee dodged to one side as the beast charged from the brush into the clearing. The Padawan would need to use his brains as well as his brawn to defeat such a beast without a physical weapon like the sabers currently sat in Yvain's bag.

The Zakkeg charged again, though this time the Wurfuhlla used The Force to trip the beast. That was a good trick, the creature crashed forward though upon rising it seemed to be more angry than injured. Whipping its tail around it tried to catch the Padawan in the knee with its armoured appendage.

[Wurfuhlla]

Wurfuhlla was waiting for the strike from the beast. The tail was whipping around, and aiming for the legs of the Wookiee. The Padawan noticed in time to react with a jump high enough to dodge the the tail, and then in his open moment he noticed a cliff in the distance. It was a chance he would have to take.

Running now towards the beast, the Wookiee Padawan would leap onto it. Garabbing the largest horns on the head and pushing forward to the cliff. The beasts reaction would be to run in that direction. It would shake it's head trying to get the Wookiee off, but Wurfuhlla jabbed his claws into the beasts body enough to stay latched on.

"Just a little further.."

As the beast got closer to the edge the Wookiee jumped off, landing behind the beast. It kept running and tried to stop before falling off, but it was too late. Seeing the body go over the cliff, Wurfuhlla went to see if it was gone. Come to know, it was latched onto the wall, clinging for life. The Wookiee looked at the fear in it's eyes. The hatred. It remided him of his time within those blasted caves.

The Padawan wouldn't just kill it, he knew the value of life. Instead he would use the force to lower the beast to the ground level below. It was approximately 100 yards down. It was straining on his body as he was lowering the beast, becoming harder and harder to hold on. When he felt the beast touch the ground he let go. It was strenuous, and tiring. Breathing heavily but also becoming more in control, he turned to walk back to where the little Jedi would be waiting.

[Yvain]

The tree Yvain had found himself in was a Portobell Fruit tree, a suclent if tangy little purple fruit. There were good just cleanly plucked through they tasted better when reduced down with some sugar over fried toad. But whilst the Padawan was dealing with the beast Yvain took some time to pick a few for later as well as eat a pair to keep his stomach from rumbling to much as they made there way through the forest.

He was halfway through the second Portobell fruit when the Padawan returned, the tangy juice rolling down his chin. "Well done young Wurfuhlla, I am sure you let the beast live." He said jumping down from the tree. "Portobell fruit, be careful the pinker ones are more sour." Yvain said finishing his own fruit and wiping his mouth on the sleeve of his robe. "Now shall we keep moving."

[Wurfuhlla]

As the Wookiee finally made it back to the little green Jedi, he had noticed that food was on Yvains mind. Whatever that fruit was, it looked good. Juice happened to be drizzling down the face of Yvain like a child. This guy was supposed to be centuries old? If Wurfuhlla ever got to being over a century he would take life a little more serious, though I guess when you get on the verge of being a master, it doesn't matter as much.

"Right.."

Then without a word and a simple nod Wurfuhlla began on the route to the forge again. Hopefully nothing would attempt to murder him again.

[Yvain]

The tall Wookiee did not seem to be so pleased about the Portobell fruit, his loss, Yvain's gain. The Jedi Knight stuffed a few more of the fruits into his bag, probably getting sticky juice all over Wurfuhlla's lightsabers as he did, before following up behind the giant walking carpet.

"So Wurfuhlla, do you think you will look to take on an apprentice once you finish your trials?" It was a simple question but would help Yvain understand the Jedi's thoughts and desires moving forward. Yvain was always looking to the future to the impending collision with the wider Sith threat, having Jedi like Wurfuhlla on hand would be crucial in there ongoing effort to defeat the darkness. They were perhaps a little over halfway there but the jungle around them seemed calm now the giant predator had been removed from play.
