To Become a Knight: Zaifa's Training

[GABA]

"Can I what Master?" she asked blankly, confused she looked attempted to look into his mind to see what the rest of the sentence was. It was a rather force of habit for her to do so.

 

[Dmitri]

Zolotoy grinned. "I just attempted to infiltrate your mind. Considering that you didn't here my telepathic shout, I can assume it worked. Congradulations. So, what do you want to try next?"

 

[GABA]

"Well, since I can hear people from a distance, and I can block out those from my mind, I want to learn to conceal myself to avoid be spotted if someone picks me up reading their mind." she told Zol, "Force Concealment?" she asked him.

 

[Dmitri]

"A very useful trick," said Zolotoy. "Now, instead of trying to ward your mind, try warding your entire being. Erase it from existence."

Zolotoy used Force Concealment himself to demonstrate.

 

[GABA]

Zaifa felt her Master's presence disappear in the Force, though she could still see him. She poked and prodded the Force for her Master's presence and then grinned. The padawan closed her eyes and focused, she pretend to be elsewhere, enclosing herself and her mind.

 

[Dmitri]

"Good job," said Zolotoy. "Your presence has been lessened. However, know that most likely more powerful Force users have a chance of locating you."

 

[GABA]

Zaifa listened to her Master's words, but was thinking to herself also, "So if I were engaged with another Force user, dueling, if I conceal myself in the Force would they have a tougher time predicting how I'm going to move?" she asked.

 

[Dmitri]

"It might make your moves harder to read," agreed Zolotoy. "Force Concealment is greater used for stealth."

 

[GABA]

"But if it would be to my advantage for a moment, it would work?" she asked.

 

[Dmitri]

Zolotoy paused. "Possibly. When facing the Dark Side, never think it will always be the same. The Dark Side is unpredictable, chaotic."

 

[GABA]

"I don't think any battle or fight is predictable Master." she told him as she kept practicing the Force concealment.

 

[Dmitri]

"People tend to make the same moves if it works for them," said Zolotoy. "Read your opponents moves and try to form a counterstrategy."

 

[GABA]

"I had worked on a lot of that with my previous training." she said, "Listen to the Force to make your own moves unpredictable, let it guide your movements to overcome your opponent. That was something I always enjoyed about the blade."

 

[Dmitri]

"That is true," agreed Zolotoy. "Now, what shall be taught next? Try to read my mind to figure it out."

Zaifa closed her eyes and focused, he must have allowed her to easily penetrate his mind, because she was easily able to see inside.

"Ah, lightsaber training." she spoke out loud.

 

[Dmitri]

"Correct," said Zolotoy. "We're going to focus on two things. First, we're going to train you under the Form you wish. Later, once you've handled it with proficiency, we'll try to add some telekinetic lightsaber combat. Speaking from experience, you probably don't want to focus on it like me. The reason I do is because I use it while dually using Doppelganger, thus making it appear as if three of me are attacking; most people try to locate which is the real one and ignore the Doppelgangers, not realizing they have real lightsabers, not just illusions. I digress. Anyways, use telekinetic lightsaber combat as a backup and distractions. Try sneak attacks. If your opponent is too busy try to also avoid your telekinetically controlled lightsabers, they'll be less focused on you. Telekinetic lightsaber combat is even better at multiple enemies, as it'll keep some occupied, making it easier to go on someone one-on-one. A warning, telekinetic lightsaber combat takes up energy. I can do it decently for an amount of time since I've practiced holding them telekinetically for hours on end for months. It takes a lot of work. Eventually, they make become more instinctual, almost seemingly defending you without you thinking about it." He laughed. "That won't be for a while. For now, let's focus on your Form. Now, what can you tell me about it?"

 

[GABA]

Zaifa listened carefully, doppelganger and telekinetic lightsaber combat sounded like it would come to her advantage in some situations. "Well, I was learning Shien, I know a lot of, but I haven't picked up a lightsaber in nearly three years." she explained to her Master Zol.

 

[Dmitri]

"It may be best to get some practice in," said Zolotoy. "Later, I'd like you to practice with another Jedi sometime. If you want, I can be your opponent." He twirled his hand as to remember what he was going to say. It irked him that he had lost his train of thought. "Ah, yes. Zaifa, what can you tell me about Shien? Describe it and its functions in your own words."

 

[GABA]

"It was created to take a more offensive stance than what Soresu was. I picked Shien because I wanted to be able to defend, but be more forward about it." explained Zaifa to her Master.

 

[Dmitri]

"I see," said Zolotoy. "Do you believe you have profriciency to use it in a mission?"
