Ares sighed to himself as Xano talked to Ashes, if it had been a less stressing situation he probably would have laughed. It was Ares proffesion to be able to hear or see what others could not, Xano keeping his voice low almost did nothing to hamper Ares eaves dropping.

Putting a hand on his daughters shoulder, Ares spoke with a calm and collected voice.

" Ashes, I'm glad you want to take that thing out. As much as i want to rip Kartel's throat out through his eye sockets....We cant compromise the postion of the BHG base."

OOC: TJ… that is a bunch of BS that your character could hear the conversation, but I am going to ignore it and post anyway.

Sighing, Xano slapped the bio-organic material onto Ashes’ neck, quickly maneuvering it so that it appeared similarly to a volcano. He simultaneously reached down and retrieved yet another instrument, as well as a syringe filled with a numbing agent. He hated using such barbaric methods but if she wanted it out now he would take it out, he was a little disappointed at her decision, he was itching to test out some of his newer experiments on that worthless clump of life force Kartel.

Calmly speaking into Ashes ear again, “Ashes… I am not going to lie to you, this is going to hurt a little bit, and I need you to stand completely still while I remove this piece of cheap garbage out of your neck,” smirking across at Ares, Xano spoke to him assuring him just a little, “Hey Ares, everything is going to be all right.”

It was then that Xano chose to pierce the needle into the flesh at the base of Ashes’ neck, the agent should momentarily block off her nerve endings, knowing this would cause some discomfort Xano described to Ashes what would be happening to her body. “Ashes, this is my own version of a pain killer, although it is a little weird feeling at first, seeing as it blocks your nerve endings from transmitting certain messages. I know it will be difficult but you must stand completely still, even if you can’t feel your legs or feet.”

Ashes bit her lower lip and stared at Xano through strained eyes, her hands sqeezing her knees forcefully, she held her breath as the sensation he described began to take place.

She froze, feeling like a bed of nails was at her back, spreading up her limbs and cutting off all feeling.

Her Lekku drooped and she stood firm, Her head growing light and lost.

As Xano dexterously moved around the vertebrae and arteries of Ashes’ neck he became pensive. He absentmindedly vacuumed the device into his bio polymer material and sealed it while fluidly snatching the polymer from Ashes’ neck and throwing it into the air high above.

Seconds later the sound of a highly powerful explosive detonating could be heard and ashes filled the air. Xano sighed as he sealed the wound before Ashes or Ares could react, this had almost been exciting, but events hadn’t turned the way he would have preferred. He smiled into Ashes’ face once again and spoke, “Ashes, you can relax now, the bomb is gone and you should be completely healed up within the hour!” Turning to Ares, Xano smirked as he said, “Don’t worry about her, she is much healthier than you!” knowing it would bug Ares later.

Ares looked down at his cybernetic arm reflexively to Xano's statement, He would never admit it, but not having his old flesh and blood still bothered him from time to time, even with all the improvements the mechanical arm had over his real one. servos whirred softly as he clenched his fist once before bringing his attention back to Xano. The armored hunter was truly relieved to have someone like him to be able to take care of the more delicate situations such as the one that had just transpired. The weight of his daughter being in danger was also lifted off his chest as if it had never been there, Ares wouldn't have been able to live with himself if she had gotten more seriously hurt on his watch.

" Thank you Xano. Sometimes I don't know what we'd do without you." Ares said as he playfully slapped Xano hard on the shoulder with his left hand. He wasn't really good at the more emotional moments, so that was pretty much the best Xano was going to get from Ares in that department. Turning his attention back to Ashes, Ares spoke again.

" So! You ready to go find your mother? I'm sure she would just love to hear that she let you almost get employed by none other than Kartel himself!" The bounty hunter said with a light chuckle.

Ashes gritted her teeth and clasped her neck. she felt il and light, swallowing moistly and letting her mind catch up with her shifty glossed over gaze.

“Thank you Vishna Xano.” she said in soft accent.

Looking deeply into her father’s expressionless visor face her expression softened. She offered her hand quietly and forced a smile.

Kartel was smiling. Corelia had just begun to near and the ship sailed smoothly - right on course.

His doppelgangers by his side, he shifted contentedly.

“Ashes. Its an odd name don’t you think?” He mused idly.

“A very appropriate one none the less- I wonder if Ares realizes how poetic.”

Leaning back to couch he added.

“ I wonder if it’ll ring any bells with our…friend.”

Somewhere on Corelia a young woman was about to be paid a visit….one bearing the name Mac’ Neal.
