Brin sat down in the pilots seat and smiled as he adjusted it back to his settings after Hailee had been using it the day before. He began transferring calculations from the navcomputer, looking for a safe place to drop out of hyperspace to start playing pilots again, before Hailee bounced into the cockpit rather excitedly.

He offered his hand to Hailee, almost as a reflex action as he looked the Jedi up and down, bewildered as to why she was now bristling with weapons...

Fear and confusion struck Brin as he was dragged out of the cockpit by Hailee...

"Are we being boarded!?" He screamed, being led back into the common room...

Hailee tried to keep herself from bouncing excitedly but it was rather difficult to hold herself back. It seemed like she had caught him in the right moment, before he would have pulled them out of hyperspace. She dragged him along behind her, a wide grin on her face until she let go of his hand in the middle of the galley. His assumption immediately made her chuckle amusedly before she was starting to be serious again. "No we're not. But I want you to imagine we were being boarded right now!" she then exclaimed excitedly, removing both, the knives and the lightsaber from her belt to put them down on the table next to her. "We're are starting with weaponless defensive techniques. I want you to imagine that I'm a pirate who has just boarded your ship. What would you do?" she urged him quite directly, a big grin still on her lips. She would definitely go easy on him, but for his first lesson, she didn't want him to be prepared, that's why she had chosen to be so direct about it. "Oh, and by the way: Welcome to your first self defense lesson"!" she then clarified excitedly, not wanting to leave him too started.

Brin let himself be taken into the common room, where he was dropped in the middle of the room. He stood, poised ready for something to happen before Hailee reassured him that they were safe.

"Imagine that we're being boarded?" He asked, confused. and watched the Jedi deposit her arsenal onto the table.

He looked at her with surprise, and laughed nervously.

"A pirate? I mean...you hustled me pretty good at the card game, so that's not hard to beleive. But...I can't hit you Hailee! I mean...that's what I'd do I guess...if you were trying to board the ship..." He continued, a small grin emerging on his face.

He dropped his hand to the top of his right leg where his blaster should have been. He realised very quickly that he hadn't put his gunbelt on this morning, thinking, maybe wrongly now, that he wouldn't need it on. He looked up at Hailee knowingly, understanding that she had done this deliberately so he'd be caught off guard...and it had worked.

He started nodding at her as she welcomed him to the lesson, amused that she had played him into this situation...

"OK then madame Jedi.." He beamed. "Lets go!"

Brin however, was not a fighter. He could handle a blaster pretty well, but was not graceful when it came to more martial forms of confrontation. He thought that acting quickly would now catch Hailee off guard and lunged clumsily, reaching out his right hand to try and grab her arm...

She couldn't drop that slightly devious grin as he answered quite confusedly. She was not pursuing evil intentions, but it seemed like she had done a great job in catching him off guard and this amused her strongly.

She softened her smile, since she didn't want to make him any more nervous, but excitement was definitely good for him. "Yes. Boarded right now. You heard me docking and now I'm here to steal that ship from you" she elaborated, her voice soft yet serious with the smile still on her lips.

His pirate remark made her laugh again, even though he was no fully wrong about it. One thing about her past wasn't too bad, and that was that she knew how to defend herself and indeed also now to gamble. She had watched patiently and learned from the dirtiest scumbags alive, so she had indeed learned a trick or two.

Everything she knew about self defense was, however, self-taught, but she was happy to teach him a few valuable lessons. "Don't hold back! Trust me, I can take it. You don't have to go easy on me. As a pilot, it's helpful to know how to defend yourself and so I want you to give me your everything.

He seemed a little hesitant at first, but then he lunged forward to grab her. She didn't want to boost her performance with Force enhanced reflexes, so she waited a little longer until she pulled her arm back with ease, stepping backwards with one foot as she did. "First of all: You should assess my build. It says a lot about my dynamics. You could assume I'm more agile-and I'm not saying this to insult you- but my smaller frame allows me to act swifter. If I can recommend something: You should try tackling me with all your strength. It would be difficult to dodge and you clearly have the upper hand when it comes to strength. Also, if you want to grab someone, don't glance at your target first. I've seen you looking at my arm for a second, so I knew what you would try" she explained calmly, but she soon realized that she was giving him a lot to process. "Kriff... I'm sorry...maybe one thing at a time" she grinned sheepishly, cautioning herself to slow down a little.

Brin launched forwards, intent on grabbing Hailee's arm and wrestling her over. He pounced, and almost without effort he watched Hailee gently glide past him to the side and he went full force over the back of the sofa. His head popped up over the top with a smile and a loud laugh.

"I reckon I could definitely use some of that instruction..." He said jokingly as he dusted himself off, taking off his jacket and draping over the back of the chair. He readied himself again, in front of Hailee, listening intently to her instruction...

He grinned up at Hailee and smirked innocently at her as she said "You should assess my build". He giggled to himself and shook his head trying not to look at her, attempting to regain his regaining focus.

As Hailee listed off the instructions, he adjusted his posture with each word, shifting his weight forward, dropping his hands down low and shifting his feet into a wider stance. He tried to anticipate which way Hailee might be able to dodge this time, and tried to position himself so she would have the least room to evade.

He nodded up at Hailee and smiled...

"Second time lucky?"

As he taunted her, he rushed forwards, this time not trying to restrict himself to grabbing her slender arm, but going full force directly at her, intent on tackling her, and hopefully landing her on the sofa. Despite wanting to win this round, he didn't want to drop the Jedi onto the hard steel deck.

She was contemplating whether she should purposely slow her movement, but she fugured that it wouldn't help him improve much if she would go too easy on him. However she felt extremely bad when he over the sofa as he had apparently put quite some strength into his attack, but as he started laughing so did she.

After she was done explaining she couldn't ignore the fact how he had chuckled at her remark and she cautioned herself again to try to be a little more careful with her words. "Yes, yes, you're getting there, good job!", she praised him honestly while he adjusted his stance according to her instructions. "Seems like I'm not the only fast learner here", she then added with a wink and a genuine smile on her lips.

His taunting was indeed oddly sufficient and she had allowed herself to get carried away, so that she had indeed not been on her guard while he planted his counterattack and so he came crashing right into her, indeed tackling her backwards just like she had instructed. They landed on the soft furniture with a loud thud, but she at least managed to catch herself in a way that neither of them were getting hurt by it. "Oh my...okay Brin that was outstanding", she laughed happily as they were still halfway entangled on the sofa.

Brin wasn't expecting to get Hailee this time, so was quite shocked as he felt his shoulder connect with her and sent both of them toppling into the sofa.

The furniture rocked slightly as they both sprawled over the cushions, as Hailee let out a laugh.

Brin realised very quickly he was all entwined up in Hailee's limbs and attempted to break himself out, standing up and patting Hailee down...

"Oh my Gods, I'm sorry!" He apologised quickly, offering a hand to Hailee to help her up...

"I didn't think I'd actually be able to get you this time...Are you OK? I didn't break anything did I?" He continued to ask...

Funnilly enough, Brinnon seemed just as surpised as she was, or at least that was how she interpreted his shocked reaction at first. Through her laughter and the fall she had to cough a little before she accepted his hand. "Don't apologize! That was excellent and I'm fine. I didn't expect you to do it right away because I was literally suggesting the maneuver right before that, so we'll done, you caught a Jedi off guard". She was indeed proud of him for learning so quickly.

Once back to her feet, she was still grinning while she smoothed down her own clothes before she faced him with a challenging grin. "Okay so now we need advanced techniques. Use your strength to wrestle me to the ground and when you do, try to pin me there for a moment. And actual attacker wouldn't just give up after a little tackling. Once you've managed that, we'll move on to knives. I can teach you some helpful movements to disarm someone", she then explained, hoping that she was not moving too fast.

Brin grinned widely, with a slight air of pride spreading across his face. He nodded at Hailee and thanked her.

"Looks like I've finally got one back from the sabacc game." he said playfully, as he rolled his sleeves up and moved back to the centre of the room.

"Advanced techniques eh? Let's do it! Or...try to do it..." he suggested, more to himself than Hailee.

He set himself up again as he did before, taking a few seconds to study Hailee, how she was standing and the state of the room around her.

"To the ground this time, right?" he asked, a look of concentration on his face, as he nodded at Hailee to make sure she was ready.

"I guess you are a pirate trying to steal my ship"

He pushed off his back foot again and launched himself at the Jedi. He tried to move his body to the left, to come in at a different angle than before, and attempted to tackle Hailee around her waist....

" True...perhaps you can get another one", she then teased him with a big grin while she prepared herself for their second dance. She was contemplating whether she would perhaps be a little inattentive on purpose, but she still wanted to give him a rather realistic setting and so she wanted to keep it feisty.

"Play dirty if you have to...a pirate would", she quipped amusedly while she patiently waited for his attack, nodding to signal her agreement again. "To the ground, and I'm a fearsome pirate" she then insisted but couldn't suppress a slight chuckle. When he charged at her again, she saw what he was trying to do, but somehow she got distracted by something behind him for the glimpse of a second but it was enough to catch her off guard yet a again. With a harder thud this time they crashed downwards, but even if he did tackle her around the waist, she managed to at least turn slightly to the side to not only avoid him crashing down on her, but also being pinned down right away. "Ooof" it still escaped her while she used her positioning to wriggle herself free underneath him, trying to push him over and gain the upper hand thereby.

"Fearsome pirate, fearsome pirate, fearsome pirate" Brin kept repeating in his head as he scrabbled with Hailee. She went down to the deck hard, but then Brin was easily several kilos heavier.

They both hit the plasteel deck, and Brin heard the wind escape Hailee's lungs. He had hoped for a quick pin, but she was already rolling from under him and fighting back. He reached out with his hands trying to grab Hailee's arms, but she wriggled away and he lost his balance.

Brin toppled backwards, expecting Hailee to get the upper hand, but he managed to grab onto a loose swathe of fabric from her robe, and pulled hard, hoping it would overbalance the Jedi...

Perhaps mentioning that she expected him to fight dirty was a mistake...After all he had grown up on Corellia as well and so he surely had a few tricks up his sleeve even though he had never truly learned self defense, the fabric pulling trick was sneaky. She was a little frustrated with herself for being so unconcentrated, but it seemed like knowing that this was just training let her hold back severely.

Hailee tumbled back, not being able to free herself as assumed and let out a little growl as he seemingly had the upper hand again. She was not really annoyed, but rather even felt happy for him because this was perhaps not just helpful, but also boosting his confidence. He was indeed not half as bad as he had claimed and she was positively surprised. But this was just getting interesting. With a devious smile she reached out with her hand and summoned one of the vibroknives in it. "Uh oh, the pirate now pulled a knife out of his sleeve. Since you're making such impressive progress, disarm me", she urged him amusedly, not giving him much time to prepare for that. She was not attempting to hit him with it in anyway, but she really wanted to see what he would do next.

Brin rolled across the floor and came up on one knee. He smirked at Hailee as they separated, feeling more relieved that she hadn't pinned him herself, rather than being bothered that she had escaped him.

"That's the trouble with nice, flowing clothes Hailee...They might look nice, but they're not meant for dirty fighting" Brin quipped sarcastically at Hailee. But his smile was very quickly erased as his eyes tracked the blade flying across the common room into Hailee's waiting hand...

"Wooooaaahhh there...I didn't know these pirates were going to be able to use the force..." he said, sounding worried. His attention starting flickering around the room, trying to find something he could improvise to help defend himself.

He reached over pulled his jacket from the back of the sofa, and lunged at Hailee, he attempted to wrap the fabric of the coat around her hand that held the dagger so that she wouldn't be able to move it and he hoped he would be able to pull the weapon from her grasp...

Hailee couldn't help but to chuckle as they rolled on the floor like children. "I know I know...I wasn't fully prepared", she explained while still chuckling before she saw the shock on his face. "Don't worry! No most pirates wouldn't use the Force but I felt like we could level up immediately", she then added with a reassuring smile before she sat up, trying to get a better glimpse at what he was trying next.

She immediately realized that he was looking around to find something that would help him, but as he reached for the jacket she instantaneously rolled away. "Wow! Look at you! You're super resourceful which is advantageous in such a fight. However, I don't want to destroy you jacket", she told him after she had dodged his attempt. "It was a good idea. Unexpected but perhaps a little hesitant. If I could give you a hint: You could try to throw something and harm my arm, because it would be likely that I would drop the knife. But let's try something else".

She was indeed enjoying this. She had never fought on a ship before and teaching him was fun, but it somehow didn't even look like he needed much training. She got to her feet and waited for him to do the same, the knife still in her right hand while she summoned the second one into her left hand. "I've got two ideas, you an choose. You either try to disarm me and we're only using the one vibroknife, or you're taking one as well and we're practicing that. You don't have to be afraid. I would not try to hit you and if we grace each other, I can heal us. Small cuts are no big thing". Her breath had grown a little heavy but she was truly enthusiastic to continue, as long as he was eager to do the same.

Brin quickly realised that he had gotten a bit overexcited and hurriedly inspected the lining of his jacket to make sure he hadn't torn it on the vibroblade. He nodded a thank you to Hailee. If she hadn't been as quick and nimble as she was, he would probably be holding two halves of a flying jacket now instead of a whole one.

Brin nervously looked at Hailee, before offering out his right hand to her...

"One each it is...I'm pretty sure I've only ever used one of these in the kitchen though." he said to Hailee, turning the knife over in his hands, before shooting her a concerned look as she mentioned healing...

"I'd rather not be cut at all, if its all the same to you!" he laughed.

"Either way, you gotta catch me first..." Brin called, as he leaped over the table, putting the furniture between himself and Hailee, and brandishing the knife out in front of him.

Hailee couldn't help but to giggle amusedly as their trainings fight was indeed reaching a new level. "All right, you're call. I can live with that and I would say that it is very likely that most pirates have a knife on them anyway", she then answered with a hint of seriousness in her voice before she nodded approvingly. "Okay sure. I'll be very careful. After all, we are practicing defense, not offense".

She could only sense, but also his slight nervousity so she decided to go easier on him. However as he started sprinting and leaping over the table she had to chukle again. "You're cunning. I like that", she remarked amusedly yet genuine before she rolled her shoulders. "Careful, pirates are not stopped by a table", she then quipped before she casually glided over it, landing right next to him with the knife in her right hand, raising it purposely to see what what he would do against a stab coming from above. She was expecting that he would now try to disarm her, perhaps even hoping he would only off such a trick because otherwise, a situation like that could be lethal.

Brin's smirk left his face as Hailee effortlessly vaulted the table to end up right beside him.

"Well that's plan A out the window" he thought to himself, as his primary barrier and defence was rendered useless.

Within a few seconds Hailee was launching an attack of her own. Instinctively he reached out his free hand to try and stop, or at least deflect, Hailee's attacking arm, aiming to try and grab around her wrist. It also occurred to him suddenly that he was also in possession of a weapon himself, so as he reached up to defend against the incoming blade, he thrust, with a little hesitation, knowing he didn't want to ACTUALLY injure Hailee, towards her waist.

After effortlessly leaping over the table to cover the distance between them she flashed him a challenging smirk, her eyes attentively examining his body language to assess his next movements while she had signaled him to strike back. It seemed like he understood the cue as he immediately tried to grab her wrist and she let him execute this defense, before she herself was forced to slightly evade the blade with a pivoting movement of her hip.

"Quick reflexes", she praised him for the wrist grab with a genuine smile, but left his counterattack uncommented as he himself had probably realized that he was a little to hesitant. What she, however, attempted next was to use his forward thrust to try grabbing his wrist before she would try to apply a decent amount of pressure to a spot right below the thumb where many important, sensitive nerve tracks were located. She didn't want to actually hurt him, but demonstrate how this skillful sleight of hand trick could immediately disarm an opponent with a low level of pain.

Brin's weight carried him much further forward than he was hoping for, and his blade missed Hailee by a good distance. He cursed in his mind, knowing he had been too restrained in his attack. He chided himself for even thinking that he would be able to best the Jedi and cause her any lasting injury, and thought he should just maybe try a bit harder next time...

As these thoughts were flashing through his head in his slow motion topple away from Hailee, he felt her hand around his and a sudden sharp pain run through his fingers and down his forearm.

Brin yelped loudly, not on purpose sounding like a small puppy being told off by its mother, and his grip popped open on the blade of the knife in his hand, which fell to the floor with a loud clatter.

He spun on the spot to face Hailee, realising his hand was perfectly fine, and looked a little embarrassed at the ease at which she had disarmed him.

He looked straight at her, realising his own faults immediately...

"Don't worry about hurting you right? Don't hesitate...put my weight behind it" He said with a smile.

"I'll actually try to get you this time..." He admitted, pretending to rub the hand that had held his knife...

"And maybe not drop my knife this time either?" He bent down and collected the weapon and spun it round in his fingers.

"Again?" He asked, his face becoming serious...

As the pilot suddenly yelped like a hurt charhound puppy she stared at him wide eyed for a moment, not fully sure what she had done wrong, but she fastly regained composure after having realized that he had been a little dramatic after her sudden grip had surpised him. The shocked gaze turned into a smirk as the knife dropped to the ground as expected and she was relieved that he was okay.

"Once we have actually finished this first round, I can teach you that trick. It's surprisingly efficient and most opponent's don't expect it", she explained amusedly while she watched him readying himself. "And yes. Do not hesitate. I've built up quite a tolerance to pain and it's like I said. I'll heal possible cuts right away, so don't worry. I'll still not try to hurt you on purpose though", she then replied with a sweet, innocent smile, before it turned into a challenging, fierce glance. "Whenever you're ready...". With that, she took a step back and rolled her shoulders before she went into a more balance stance, the vibro knife still clutched in her right hand.
