Atrer III/Raider camp
18:22 local time

images.png

The convoy of buggies raced through the desert. Every now and then the raiders pestered the two captors in the back of the one buggy, interrupting any chance of some much-needed rest. Their howling and laughing also didn't help the situation.

It was a long tip, but they finally arrived at the camp by nightfall. The change in temperature was quite easily felt by the two captors, though Mid would be hard-pressed to actually suffer in this cold. This was literally the type of climate he grew up in. When the buggies came to a halt the Sith and Jedi were yanked out of the vehicle and forced on their knees. a few raiders came and stripped them of their weapons and armour. Safe to say, Mid was not happy at all. Though he made sure to keep an eye on where they took their stuff.

They were then moved off to a caged area that Mid could only sum up as their jail cells. They were shoved in and the cell door was closed off behind them. Between the shouting Mid caught a few lines. It seemed that these raiders had plans for the two later...

Finally alone, Mid rose to his feet, his long black hair brushing against the top of the cell. This place wasn't exactly built for people like him. "When I get out of here I will set this entire place on fire with them in it." he growled coldly. He sighed and looked around, rubbing his wrists where the bindings were tied way too firmly. The place was pretty well designed for a scrap heap, but he doubted these raiders paid attention to anything that wasn't a woman, car or alcohol.

Their journey to the camp was nothing short of awful. They were given little chances to sleep during the bumpy ride and the few opportunities they had were prevented by their captors. Nevertheless, the Knightess had kept her eyes closed, focusing on breathing techniques to stay as close to the Force as possible. Like her ally, she didn't suffer in the cold either. Not because she was used to it, no, she wasn't cold at all because her restraints pressed her against the Sith who, combined with her cloak, kept her warm.

The camp was larger than she had expected it to be. Guarded by multiple watchtowers and a self-constructed wall, it reminded her more of a walled city than a camp. No, perhaps a fortress was a better term, given that the entire population seemed to be armed to the teeth. Except for the slaves, which she immediately recognized thanks to the shock collars. Was this the fate that awaited them? Serve in a camp like this for the remaining three hundred years of her life? If she wouldn't succumb during the heavy labor...

Stripped of their weapons, armor and tools, the two masters of the Force were thrown in a simple cage. She wasn't arrogant at all, but she had to admit that it felt a little degrading. Being beaten and captured by a group of dumb pirates, that was not how she normally played her cards.

Sakadi sat down in a meditative position. She paid little attention to the Sith who had introduced himself as Mid. Patience was important here. There was little they could do, except for waiting. Talking was also an option, but she wasn't in the mood to start a conversation with this man. After all, he had nearly killed her before. It was a good reason not to like him, wasn't it?

When Mid started making impossible threats again, she took a deep breath. "If you've got nothing of importance to say, please stay quiet." the hint of annoyance had not left her mental voice yet. She just couldn't wait to get out of here, to get as far away from the red-skinned man as possible.

Mid scowled at her as a low growl escaped from his throat. He wanted to say something or even launch her into the cage...but she had a point. No use ranting and raving if you couldn't back it up...though that's not saying he wouldn't be backing his threat. This place will burn, even if it's the last thing he did. "I don't do good with uncomfortable silence." he commented, folding his arms. He slid down the wall and sat on the ground, stretching his legs out in front of him. He winced when he was rudely reminded he took a slug through the leg not too long ago. He looked at Marathi then back to the wound. He wasn't going to bother asking for her help again. He doubted with that snarky attitude of hers she would agree to help him.

So he instead opted for the next best option.

He tore the material open and focused the force in the palm of his hand a flame appeared and without skipping a beat he pressed it to the wound. The flesh seared as he clenched his jaw with a growl, but after a few seconds he stopped and breathed a deep breath. He was sure she wouldn't approve of having the smell of seared flesh in the air, but he didn't care.

After a while a group of raiders came to their cage, being their usual disturbing selves all the way. Mid stood up but didn't make a move against them. Partly because of the guns trained on him...and partly because they weren't here for him. They were here for her.

One of them ordered the group to take her and pretty soon she was bound and dragged off to a nearby tent. Any resistance from her part and she would be softened up with a few blows from a rifle's buttstock. The raiders wanted to play with their new toy...

There is no emotion, there is peace.
There is no ignorance, there is knowledge.
There is no passion, there is serenity.
There is no chaos, there is har-.....
Excuse me what the kriff?
Sakadi jerked her head to face the Sith, as she smelled the scent of burnt flesh in the air. Her gaze narrowed as she attempt to deduce what the red-skinned man just did. After a minute or so, she just shook her head and resumed with her meditation. She had to be ready for what was coming. It was evening, which meant that a lot of their captors were going to get drunk. She didn't want to think about what was going to happen, but deep down she already knew. All the outlaws were the same after all, she had yet to meet one who diverted from the formula.

Her prediction had be right. After a while five raiders entered, accompanied by the smell of alcohol. She glanced at the Sith for a second, before she got up herself. She had to be ready, this was an opportunity handed to them on a silver platter. That, and if she messed up, she'd be left with a trauma for the rest of her long life.

Obediently, Sakadi allowed the men to tie her up. They even gagged her, which she found very funny considering she couldn't utter a single word. As they dragged her off however, Sakadi made her move. Her ams were tightly bound, but she could still somewhat move her hands.

As one of the raiders locked the cage again, she called upon the Force. She had to be subtle, for the raiders were armed and ready to shoot the one person she needed. Putting the keys back in his pocket, they raider turned away from the cage. That was her chance. With a small gesture that required a lot of focus, Sakadi flung the keys out of the man's pocket. None of the raiders seemed to notice; they were busy with quite different things after all.

The five raiders dragged her to one of the more secluded shacks in the camp, pushing her ahead through the doorway. She just hoped that the large Sith pureblood would be there in time.

Mid watched her get dragged off, but the sight of the keys flying to the air towards him made him raise an eyebrow. It landed by his feet but he quickly picked it up. He looked around. One of the raiders was standing guard with his back towards Mid, minding his own business. But other than that he was alone.

A mixture of thoughts went through his head. She expected him to help her, yet he knew she had no intention of helping him. He was also willing to bet the raiders had something like a map lying around somewhere along with some other information. He could theoretically just use the keys to escape and leave her behind. One less Jedi, after all.

But something gnawed at him. Whether it was pride, arrogance or stubbornness he wasn't sure, but a voice in his head was telling him to go save her. He sighed as he looked at the keys in his hand. The laughing and howling coming from the shack caught his attention as well. He walked towards the door and let himself out, killing the raider and stealing his gear in the process before hiding the body. After looking around he decided to take his chances and left her behind to go looking for something to help him out of this place...but as he walked he stopped to look back to the shack.

Inside the shack the raiders forced their toy to the ground and bound her like an animal. All the while they were watching her closely, though they were all itching for a piece of her. Whatever rescue she hoped for didn't seem like it would be coming anytime soon. She was relieved of her clothing rather violently, the torn robes tossed aside. But just before the raiders could have their fun, the head of the one looming over her suddenly snapped all the way around. The shocked raiders turned towards the exit, but before they could react they were set upon by a very dangerous Pureblood.

He tore them apart, using his brute force and a simple knife to slaughter them in the shack. When the last one fell, Mid stood over her and looked her over. "Still believe in peace, Jedi?" he asked coldly before cutting her restraints. "Gear up, take their stuff. It won't be long before they find the bodies." he ordered her, looking outside to make sure the coast was clear. "Move it." he said sternly as he made his way outside. Sticking to the shadows, he waited for her to join him before moving on.

She had given him the keys right? So... where was the red-skinned giant? The raiders were laughing out loud now, as she had fallen to the ground. One tugged heavily at her hair, dragging her over the ground until he got her exactly where he wanted her. But Sakadi didn't react. She didn't struggle or scream, for there was nothing she could do. Not in this state.

Had she done anything wrong? She had healed the Sith, dropped her weaponry to save him and now he would just let these men have their way with her? Slowly, the Knightess started to feel fear. Fear of what was going to happen to her. She had miscalculated, and now she would suffer the consequences.

Still without struggling, her clothes were violently torn apart, leaving scrapes and scratches all over her body as they scraped her over the stone floor, trying to find something to attach her to. While she had initially been able to withstand the cold, the loss of her clothes cooled her body down fast. If the raiders would leave her in the shack after they were done with her, she would most likely freeze to death. But that was not what she was concerned with. She barely even felt the cold, her mind was in a totally different place. Desperately trying to get away from the horrors that were about to unfold.

Now naked and tied down on all fours in a degrading position, she closed her eyes and gritted her teeth. Never again would she be as stupid as to truth a stranger with her life. Sakadi braced herself, but nothing followed. No vulgar touch, nothing. Just the sound of a snap. Followed by a few sudden and surprised cries. She couldn't see what was happening from her position, even while she really wanted to.

When the Knightess heard a familiar voice however, her eyes widened, followed by a blush that drove the cold from her body. Mid was here. Watching her from behind. Incapable to hide her naked body from the Sith, the Sephi was too flustered to answer. When the Sith freed her, she immediately covered up her body the best she could, avoiding eye contact. With a slight nod, she agreed to take the raider's stuff.

When Mid walked outside, she stripped the bodies of their armor, determining what the pieces were that suited her best. None of them had brought a helmet, but that was fine.

Stepping outside, Sakadi still avoided eye contact with the Sith. The blush hadn't left her face yet either.

"I... thank you for not leaving me behind.." She stammered.

She finally joined up with him with a fierce blush. To his surprise she thanked him. He eyed her for a second before giving a nod and handing her a pistol. "If anybody's going to kill you, it's going to be me." he said with a light smirk. "Stick close. We need to get to the armoury." he instructed before moving on.

He led the way, looking around and evading stray raiders walking around. Going on what he saw between entering and leaving the cage, he managed to get them to the armoury. Sure enough, their broken weapons were all stored there. Mid quickly holstered them or hid them under his jacket. But he didn't stop there. He started rounding up as many explosives as these people had in the building. He threw it all into a backpack and placed it on his back. He turned to Sakadi. "Go find us a vehicle to escape with. If you didn't pay attention to how it works, just secure it. Do not go to their parking area." he quietly ordered her with a fire burning in his eyes.

He left her behind and disappeared into the rest of the camp. Probably almost half an hour later the entire place went up in hellfire. Buildings collapsed, tents caught fire, cars and weapons exploded, and people were on fire. Screams filled the air and from the carnage came the stalwart form of the Pureblood. "I don't make idle threats." he said coldly as he joined up with her. "Are you driving or me?" he asked as he shouldered a rifle.

Sakadi said nothing as Mid ordered her around, since she had trouble focusing on the task at hand. The man had seen her naked after all, how could she let go of that? Her sworn enemy, the Sith, had seen her in the most degrading way possible. Granted, she had brought that upon herself, but it still bugged her.

The armory was less impressive than she had thought it would be. The raiders were limited to slugthrowers, explosives and normal blades, as if they were three steps behind when it came to technology. Like Mid, Sakadi took more than just her own broken tools. He had given her a slug pistol, but she would need a bit more if they were going to end up facing a camp of raiders. Eventually, the knightess settled upon two long daggers and extra ammunition for her pistol. She couldn't take that much with her, she had to stay mobile after all.

The orders that followed were clear. Go find a vehicle to escape with. That wouldn't be too hard. They had a parking area, but as usual, not everyone felt like placing their vehicles there was a good idea. It left the Knightess with many options, as she scanned around the more secluded area of the camp. She had three options, but only one seemed fit for a long journey. It was a good looking automobile, perfect for their escape.

With ease, Sakadi secured their escape plan. Two men noticed her, but there was little they could do to stop the Knightess. Before they even managed to utter a sound, Sakadi had knocked both out. None of these raiders would stop them now.

As soon as she heard the explosives go off, saw building collapse and tents on fire, Sakadi knew why Mid hadn't immediately joined her. She had to give it to him; he was right about not making any idle threats.

"I'd prefer if you'd drive." she stated. Her answer was short, she was still a bit flustered over the situation that had unfolded. This was going to be the second akward journey she would have to make today.

Mid nodded at her statement and climbed into the modified Rust Duster. He threw his stuff into the backseat and took a few seconds to get oriented with the primitive vehicle. Going on how he saw the raiders do it. Sometimes not sleeping held its advantages.

He stepped on the first pedal, selected a gear, and turned the key. With a violent roar the vehicle came to life and Mid couldn't help but give a goofy smile as he revved up the vehicle. He dropped the clutch and they drove out of the base with a cloud of dust as the base burned to the ground. Outside he turned the lights on and settled into the seat. He actually slumped down a bit since his head was brushing against the roof above him. He looked the dials over and, if he had to guess, everything was running good. The extra supplies strapped onto it would certainly also help them reach a viable destination. Only problem was the temperature. With no proper sealing of the windows or other openings the icy desert air was rushing into the cockpit. Mid wasn't too bothered, despite the lack of proper attire to keep warm. Though his companion might not be so lucky.

He glanced around and flipped the switch to turn on the light in the cockpit. "Take a look around. Let's see what our hosts left for us." he commented, joining in with the search as best he could without flipping the car. On the backseat(or lack thereof) was a bunch of stuff. Ammunition, jerry cans with water and fuel, even rations of dried meat and other preserved items. Probably the most useful for this situation was the blanket shoved into a corner.

Mid glanced at her before speaking up. "Did they hurt you?" he asked her, looking for any cuts or bruises.

Despite the thick layer of armor and clothing she had stolen, she still felt as if she was freezing. That was why the moment she saw the blanket in the back, she immediately grabbed it. It was a bit selfish not to share it, but the Sith Pureblood didn't seem that bothered by the cold. The other stuff she found spread throughout the automobile gave them a decent survival chance, but none of it provided them with luxury. Behind Mid's chair, Sakadi found a small tent, packed in a neat bag. Contrary to what she had thought, it meant that the raiders didn't sleep in their buggies. How interesting.

When Mid asked whether the men had harmed her, Sakadi used the blanket to shield her body from his vision. "Only minor injuries. Scratches and scrapes." Having regained a bit of her confidence, Sakadi continued. "Would you please not look at my body? I understand that you don't have ill intentions, but you have seen me naked and degraded... I highly doubt you've forgotten what I looked like in that state and I find that to be quite embarrassing." she stated with minor difficulty. She didn't like confronting others with her personal issues. It wasn't something she was used to. Correct others? sure. As long as she could keep her distance. But this was different. This man was a sworn enemy of her Order.

"Say, what is your position in the Empire? I've only met Acolytes so far, with the exception of a Dark councillor, and you don't strike me as an Acolyte." She was genuinely curious. After all, he had beaten her in what was supposed to be one on one combat, a feat very few had accomplished so far.

Mid sighed at her embarrassed request as he shifted in his seat. "Believe it or not I am a doctor. I know how to look at someone and not get obsessed over it." he fired back. "Besides, you're not the first naked woman I've seen." he continued, casting a glance at her. He looked back out the window with a slight smirk. "I will admit, though, you don't look too bad...for a Jedi." he said with a shrug just to work on her nerves a little. It was amusing watching her purple cheeks turn a few shades of red.

She went on to ask about his rank. He didn't say anything at first, but he figured he could share. After all, he knew hers. "I'm a Sith Lord. 'Darth Kados' is what I'm called." he stated simply. He glanced back to her. "And you, Knight, are the only person thus far to have given me a fight that I truly enjoyed. Though that cut you gave was not very much appreciated." he commented with a slight chuckle. "Tuck yourself in. You're not built for this cold." he instructed, looking out ahead of them once more.

He rummaged around the cabin until he found a map. He quickly figured out where the base was and got a decent idea of which direction they needed to go. "Apparently there's a town a few days' ride from the base. If we can get there, we might be able to figure out where to go or how to get out of here." he explained, putting the map away again. he turned the vehicle slightly to get them on course towards the town. Far in the distance he could faintly make out a mountain range against the bright starry sky. If they could get there, they could maybe get some rest in relative safety.

While his first statement made her feel a little at ease, he immediately ruined it with the second. She was used to those kind of comments, but the fact that he was the one who said it made her just a bit more uncomfortable. That discomfort quickly faded though, as the conversation went in another direction. Apparently the Pureblood had a high rank; the rank of Sith Lord. It made her realize that they were miles apart in their respective fields; for she wasn't even close to becoming a Jedi Master yet.

"Sakadi..." she proclaimed. "Sakadi Marathi Sinvala is my name, not Knight." leaning back in her chair a little, the lavender-skinned Jedi continued. "And I don't think you've got the right to complain about that scar. I trust you've seen mine?" The wound she had sustained during their duel wasn't exactly minor. Even now it still limited her movements, if she engaged in prolonged physical combat. And that was a true disadvantage, for she often preferred an Ataru-based offense. Instead, she had found herself looking at the tenets of Niman as of late; for the injury formed a clear limit in combat. She wondered if that's what it would be like, later on in her life. Being unable to move freely because of old wounds.

Lost it thought, Sakadi snapped back to reality as Mid came with a suggestion. There was a town a few days from here, that bothered her a little. "Don't you think that's strange? These raiders behave like pirates and criminals, out for credits, cargo and well... women. If I were their leader, I would've seized that town already." There were only three reasons she could think of. Either the town had nothing of value, was well defended or it was already in their possession. "I've got a bad feeling about this.." she conveyed, despite knowing that they didn't really have a choice.

Mid raised an eyebrow when she gave him her full name. She seemed adamant on him using her name instead of her rank. He could do that. He would have done the same. He was proud of his name, both his birth name and his new title. It was only fair to assume she shared that sentiment. Though when she scolded him over complaining he growled. "Hate to burst your bubble, Sakadi, but I do. Thanks to you my breathing's a mess every time I wake up or do something intensive. Another inch deeper and I would never have been able to fight again in my life...that's if I got off that forsaken planet alive. Be thankful I aimed where I did." he fired right back. "I could have gone for your heart or gut, even your spine, but I didn't." he continued, practically talking down on her. "You ruined me just as much as I ruined you. So don't tell me I have no right to complain." he finished, his golden eyes staring right into her soul.

With a huff he looked back out the window, gripping the wheel tighter. Though with his strength he started bending the steel slightly. He drew a deep breath and let it out slowly. He wouldn't apologize for his reaction. But he knew he couldn't afford to lose his temper with her. He cast a glance at her for a second then looked out the window.

She went on to comment on the village, finding it suspicious that it was so close. "I don't think so." he commented softly, trying to lose the attitude. "These raiders, they strike me as eerily similar to typical pirates. They're lazy. There wasn't tools or methods of sustaining themselves other than some devices to harvest water in their camp. My guess is that town's a vassal." he continued. "The town produces food, fuel, whatever they need. The raiders make a trip every now and then to take their share then they run off again. If the town doesn't do it, they probably have a few dozen angry raiders on their hands."

A smile formed on his lips. "If my theory is correct, then we'll have helped that town out and will probably be welcomed with open arms. If I'm wrong...well, let's hope we have enough ammunition in here." he commented, nodding to the guns behind them.

The Knightess raised an eyebrow. Why did he suddenly respond with such an angry tone? She decided not to continue the argument. After all, she was already satisfied to know that he had received lasting effects, just like she did. What made it even better, was that it seemed to visibly bother the Sith. It felt good. Not because she was a sadist in any way, or because she had given her enemy a lasting injury, but because he felt a bit more like a real person. Not the stoic Sith Lord who seemed to be able to handle everything. But just a man, injured and angry.

"Oh I'm so sorry M'lord, will you forgive me for my crimes?" she conveyed teasingly, as she moved a little closer to Mid. Despite the entire situation they were in, she felt safe.

Mid's comment on her reasoning made sense. If they were truly similar to pirates, they'd likely keep the town as a vassal. And if the town truly was a vassal, it meant that they could acquire useful information, perhaps even repair some of their weapons. She just hoped that they wouldn't run out of food and fuel before they reached the town.

"That reminds me, we'll have to set up camp soon, when we're further away. We won't be able to drive there in one go, and this has been a long and exhausting day."

Mid was irritated with her, himself, this whole mess. But he was actually quite capable of keeping his temper in check, a trait not easy to find among Sith. As she teased him a smile crept onto his face as he gave a hum. "'Milord'...I like that. Please do use that from now on." he teased her, shifting a bit closer in his seat towards her. Perhaps they could manage to get along to some degree for the time being.

She reminded him that they would need to make camp. She had a point. It's been a long day and they were tired. This driving also wasn't helping the situation. Mid also didn't fail to notice the slow but steady decline in temperature that was threatening to even give him a chill. "You're right. We should get some rest." he admitted and started to slow the car down. Once it came to a halt he shut it down but kept the lights on to unpack and set up camp.

The tent was set up and the essentials were unpacked, but with no wood out here a fire wasn't happening any time soon. At least the night sky gave them pretty decent illumination. Mid rummaged around the buggie, finally finding some of that food they found earlier. "Here you go. Eat up." he said as he handed her a packet of dried meat. He wasn't sure what meat it was but he wouldn't complain. Food is food. After munching on a bit of his own meat he decided to strip his armour and relax with a loud sigh. "Hopefully we can find some firewood tomorrow. Otherwise we'll be forced to cuddle for warmth...and we can't have that, now can we?" he joked, flashing a smile as he rolled his shoulders.

Her attempt to tease the Sith Lord backfired. Well, backfired... She did not expect him to take a liking to it. Neither did she expect him to move closer to her. What surprised her even more, was her own reaction. She didn't mind. Even if Eithni would've shifted closer to her, would she have moved. She always had trouble dealing with affection of any kind, therefore she preferred to keep her distance in most situations. So why was this different?

In the blink of an eye, the two had unpacked and had managed to set-up their camp. Satisfied with the result, the Knightess forgot for a second that they lacked the utensils to start a fire. After both having taken a few bites of the rations they had found, Mid reminded her of the fact, in a rather peculiar way. Was he flirting with her? Again? For a moment, she glanced at the smug looking Pureblood, thinking of some clever reply.

"Oh but M'lord, we have but one blanket. I'm afraid we don't have a choice." she exclaimed with a smirk. Responding to flirting by flirting back, she had never thought she'd do something like that. And it was quite a bold response to boot. What if they actually followed up with actions instead of words? After all, he did claim to make 'no idle threats'. Would the same apply to flirtation?

Mid sat a few feet away from her, eating his dinner. When her comment came he looked over to her with a raised eyebrow. His golden eyes glowed in the night, staring at her with amusement. She was playing a dangerous game. Both of them were. He had played this game before and thankfully never finished. Interestingly enough, he wasn't minding it one bit. If anything, he was curious to see to what end it will lead.

Shifting his weight to lean towards her he gave a smile. "It appears we do not. It seems that will be our only means of surviving this frigid wasteland." he responded calmly and confidently. He held his arm out to the side, beckoning her to join him in his spot. "Care to join me?" he asked her softly. "It's dangerous trying to survive this desert alone." he continued coolly.

This was becoming a rather interesting development for him. And he didn't mind it at all

For a good few minutes Sakadi stared at the Darth with his outstretched arm, her face devoid of any emotion. Without making a single movement, without even blinking, she simply stared at him. What did he just say? For a moment, it seemed like she wasn't going to respond at all.

"Honestly.." the Knightess shook her head. "Just leave flirting to me." she exlclaimed, as a smile played about her lips. It was one of the worst pick up lines she had heard, and as a former celebrity, she had heard many. What made the situation even more laughable, was the fact that it actually worked. As she got up however, the Sephi continued their conversation. Her mood shifted, just like the tone of her mental voice, which became more serious. "You know, if we ever meet after this... We'll meet as enemies again. And one of us might not walk away from that encounter."

Of course, she didn't like it. But she had no choice, nothing was more important to her than the Light side of the Force. And no matter how she tried to look at it, this man was still a Sith. A Darth even. If given the opportunity, she would have to face him. No matter the consequences and regardless of her own emotions and feelings. Accepting the Pureblood in her life would have catastrophic results, so was this truly the right path?

Mid couldn't help but laugh at himself along with her. He couldn't deny that it was horrid. "Well I'm a priest and a Sith Lord, not exactly smooth-talking material." he tried defending himself. He was quite pleased, though, when she stood up and joined him. As she sat down he wrapped his arms around her and wrapped the blanket around the both of them tightly. He gave a slight shiver as he adjusted to the comfortable warmth.

She continued, though now she was being a lot more serious. For a few minutes he didn't say anything. His golden eyes stared off into the starry sky. He gave a sigh before looking down into her eyes. "If it ever comes to that, Sakadi Sinvala..." he muttered. "I hope we never have to meet again. I missed the first time. I won't be able to miss again. And I can't be certain that I would want to kill you." he continued sincerely and gently.

He gave a sad smile. "But let's not worry about what may or may not happen tomorrow. Let's rather focus on the here and now." he said, trying to lift the mood. "Personally I find it a lot more comfortable. In this forsaken desert I am simply Midwan Samekh and you are simply Sakadi Sinvala. Not Sith Lord or Jedi Knight. Not Dark or Light. Just...us." he continued with a calm and gentle tone. Though it might come off as a rambling or some kind of delusion, he was simply speaking his mind.

This journey was changing him. He grew to taking a liking in this Jedi. And somehow the thought of having to kill her was one he dared not entertain. Deep down, it tugged at him. He couldn't possibly be falling for her, he was sure of that. But what if, by the will of the force or even their own, they could leave this planet and not be enemies?

He drew a breath as his arms held her close. A cold breeze blew over them but with the two of them huddled together under the blanket it had no effect. "Sakadi..." he said softly. "What if...we leave this planet...and not meet as enemies again?" he asked her with a smile.

This felt surreal. Here she was, looking at the stars, in the warm embrace of a Sith Lord. A Sith Lord, of all beings possible. He didn't even remind her of the Sith she knew and that shook her core beliefs. It made her doubt the very reality that the Sith weren't the dark and twisted beings she believed them to be. She had met Eithni the Nightsister and despite her use of the Dark side, she was a person with good intentions, or so she believed. While she hadn't faced many Sith, they had been nothing but murderers as far as she knew. She would never forget that this was the man who nearly killed her either, but he was so... calm. Gentle. Protective. Was this the true, underlying nature of all Sith? No... it couldn't be... She had seen Mandalore. She read the history books. No, the Sith were definitely murderers, and evil ones at that.

But the man who embraced her told her things that made her doubt the very history of the galaxy. He didn't want to kill her. A man who was raised by the ideals of kill or be killed and the rule of the strong, did not want to kill his sworn enemy. He even stated how he viewed them in this forsaken desert. As nothing more than two simple souls. Sakadi Sinvala and Midwan Samekh. It made the mute woman more silent than she had ever been. Was this what she had silently hoped for all her life?

Her parents had used her as a tool. Everytime she had tried to make them proud, tried to earn their love, they had dismissed the young Sephi. As a celebrity, many people loved her. But not the true Sakadi. The woman they admired and loved was the figure she pretended to be, they loved her for her voice and her beauty, but not who she truly was. And as a Jedi, she finally gained privacy, the chance to become who she wanted to be. But she had given up on affection, given up on love. And now, it was presented to her on a silver plate; someone willing to love her for who she was. And that man, that man was supposed to be her sworn enemy. What a cruel fate.

Sakadi nearly teared up, her eyes watery as she stood at an intersection in her life, unable to make a choice. She couldn't abandon the Jedi Order, but she didn't want to let go of what she had found here either. "I don't know how... I don't know what to do.. how could we possibly not meet as enemies again? No one would approve of what you are proposing, and what I really want.. Why must the Force be so cruel Mid? Why!?" she conveyed, her mental voice faltering a little as she was overrun with emotions, emotions she could not allow to guide her.
