A girl reaches out, crying as she watches her father burn. A dozen screams echo in the void between the spaces, solemnly mournful and filled with dread. The long night has come, the hollow cold creeps into our souls. We watch as the stars fall, the streaking columns of ash and smoke, their metal bits bringing down the houses we have built with our hands. Watch now, everything you know dies.
In the night, your eyes struggle to cope, searching desperately for the light to guide your path. Can you see it now, the hand which has veiled it? The terrors clench at your core, and trembling you stumble through the darkness. Phantoms, like carrion vultures circling a corpse, shadow your every step. A new order will be imposed, where the many will be enslaved to the few, and brute force alone will justify law.
In these times, hatred and suffering will fill the hearts of the people, fueling a darkness within the Force. We will lose ourselves and everything we love and cherish, we will compromise who we are.
But tremble not, and know that there are those who strive to bring back the Light, carrying an undying beacon. These are the night watchers, the guardians of the blackened throne, and theirs is a deathless purpose, forever vigilant. Hunting the hunters, brothers and sisters yield not to trepidation. For though the darkness is pervasive, true hearts will always burn bright; never be afraid to eradicate the night.
Composition and Appearance
A stunningly beautiful warrior woman, Valeria's smile has long since faded. Her eyes, a celestial mix of brilliant greens and blues fixed amidst a cloudy ring of dusk, seem to peer beyond reality into the immaterial. She has seen wanton violence and death, and her mind has been a battleground between the Dark and the Light. Ravaged and war torn, her convictions to uphold the Light conflict with her passions to annihilate the Dark, and Valeria wants for nothing less than the death of those that seek to use the Force to oppress. Her soft hazelnut hair rarely leaves the constraining confines of the knot tied upon her head, ever ready to don the helmet and wage the next battle. A dauntless individual, Valeria has learned to reach beyond the lies of her emotions, but the comfort of finding righteous rage in battle to fuel her threatens to bring her from the path of a stalwart defender of the Light to a reluctant champion of the Dark.
Personality
Dispassionate, impersonal, and detached, Valeria rarely exhibits any emotions outside of battle, but often finds it difficult to walk the balance between Dark and Light in her crusade to destroy the Sith. She has accepted her path, though, and realizes that the utopian world she wishes to create - one free of the Sith - will not be a place for a warrior who dances so closely to her enemy.
Likes & Dislikes
Valeria exhibits no personal likes nor dislikes, maintains no notable preferences, and operates almost entirely on logic, with the notable exception that when given an option involving the death of the Sith, she will always argue and pursue the death of the Sith or any objective that brings her closer to such a goal.
Strengths & Weaknesses
Dextrous, agile, and stronger than many women in large part due to her larger size and training, Valeria Morant's greatest weakness is her intractible hatred for the Dark Side, and her greatest strength is her ability to separate herself from her own temptations.
Abilities
A capable Force adept, Valeria Morant is unafraid to use the Force to cause harm to those who seek to do harm to others. Without the moral abhorrence to using the Force for dealy violence maintained by the Jedi, Valeria is more than capable of using fire to fight fire.
Biography
Valeria was born on Bastion during the reign of the last true Emperor, before the rise of the Sith. Born to parents with a natural affinity to the Force, Valeria was a natural candidate for testing that could lead to induction into the Imperial Knights. Though she received formal public education as a child, she was transferred into a special academy for Imperial citizens who exhibit a higher than natural aptitude with the Force. From here, Valeria learned a number of skills, including the arts of healing and discipline.
Her life on Bastion, however, came at a ominous time. The rise of the Sith, destruction of the Imperial establishment, and betrayal of the Emperor by everyone who had pledged to uphold his ideals profoundly impacted Valeria's perception of the universe. She witnessed first hand the slaughter of her family, both themselves Imperial Knights, only to be whisked away from the prying fingers of the greedy Sith eager to use her as a personal slave soldier. She had not taken entrance exams or a mental battery, instead she had been isolated in a solitary cell of Imperial Knights, learning to maintain her cover and hone her skills from the art of healing to the art of war.
It was in this darkened den of safety that her personality changed from the happy child to one who looked on the world with jaded, timeless eyes; apathy had become the greatest weapon she had developed to safeguard the depths of her mind. The Dark Side could not latch onto her if she allowed no emotion to penetrate her, or so she believed. With every battle, though, she finds herself slipping more to the Dark Side. Still, she has sworn herself to a cause of liberating the Dark Side, no matter the personal cost.
