1) A student at my school, the brother of someone I know, jumped off the roof of a building and died today while I was on campus.
2) In the same town as the school I attend, two men were severely burned by a gas leak that erupted in flames at a sport shop.
3) An old neighbor of mine passed away today.
4) Apparently last night there was a shooting about a block away from my house around 8-9 P.M. and I did NOT hear those shots.
5) America's government has again failed to do what is necessary for it's people, so now WE have to pay the price.
I learned about all of this in the space of about an hour, so it's pretty overwhelming. In regards to the suicide I mentioned, I realized that it's one of those things you don't fully understand the impact of until it happens to people you know. The thing about the shooting was scary too, because that doesn't really happen in my neighborhood, but that isn't to say there isn't any crime. I don't know why I'm posting this, I guess I just felt like venting. Feel free to share anything here that you want to get off your chest.
