Lalita stood in the shadows of the room. Her thoughts would make one quiver, but yet not disagree. She could feel life pulsating through the temple grounds. Like a void, it consumed all who stepped close enough, but it was life and it was delicious.

She was waiting for her student. She had not ever taken a student in the dark arts, a student highly capable of spreading the void.

((OOC: I play to the other person's level length-wise, so my length will fluctuate depending on yours.))

She moved through the shrouded corridors and hallways with the utmost precision. Subtle bas-reliefs decorated the walls with symbols and proverbs, but she didn't notice them. Not actively, anyway. She flew through the shadow as a slight ripple in its unending mass. Her master would not be pleased if she were late... no, she would not! Vo dimly wondered what Rei might be doing, or if she was even alive. After that run-in with the slavers... No, she mustn't think about that. Not now.

Vo entered, a specter of the night. She was an extension of the darkness that permeated all; it worked through her, ticking machinations personified through her being. As she entered the room, the door creaked open with the slightest hint of hesitation. She resisted the urge to punish it. The silhouette of her master was visible from her position, and she spoke to it, "Master... Hello. What would you have me do for the dark?"

"Welcome young Vo, you seek guidance of the Bogan, tell me what fuels you?" she asked the young lady. Lalita's eyes scanned the child, "What makes you tick? How do you want your enemies and friends to see you as?" the lady continue to asked walking forward until she stood an arms length away. She circled Vo.

((ooc: Ok, that'll depend how creative I am on some days.))

Vo's eyes flickered momentarily. She did not respond immediately; instead, she started meaningfully at her master. She had heard her name once. It was... Lalita. Yes, that was it. Her pink tongue licked at her chapped lips, and then she replied, "I wish to be seen as an extension of the darkness itself. I wish to be seen as its knife. I wish to be seen as the mournful blade, the one who cuts through the strings of fate... the one who takes and gives life on a whim. As for my friends?" The black-haired girl snickered and chortled for a moment. "What are friends? I don't have any of those. They're useless, weak memorabilia from a past life. I don't want any of those. What about you, Master? Do you have any friends?"

Vo stared at her expectantly.

Lalita grinned, "Good answer. As well as for mine, friends are for the weak, for those who can't hold their ownselves up, depend on others to do it for them." The teacher stopped and faced her student, "That is why you are here, and they are not." she simply stated.

"I have taken much in liking of you young lady and therefore I will train you until you surpass me." "I want you to close your eyes and listen, feel the Force that pulsates through the halls of the temple, pulsates through you and I. Your passion is your fuel. Do not fear it, control it, it is yours for whatever you wish to please."

Vo gasped. She had not expected it to be so... vehement. A rush of energy came to her being, permeating it with the Force. She smiled, then, and closed her mouth. "Yes... passion." She felt it form a cocoon around her, feeding her, gorging her on its dark tendrils. "Master... I want more. Please, help me reach for more. I want to be powerful. I cannot stand this weakness!" The last word came with a note of strength so well defined it shocked even her.

She took a step forward and brushed the ebon black hair out of her face. "I hunger for more. More... passion." She put a hand to her face. It pulsated with a kind of alien warmth, as though something that was not her had crawled into her flesh and pumped life throughout her soul. She twitched, groaned, and again stared at her master. Yes, she would surpass her, but she could be a useful tool indeed...

Lalita picked up a training ball, just big enough to fit in the palm of a human hand. She winced slightly, forgetting the jolt of pain that came with holding it. It was a great tool to use, no one likes pain, even the strongest of fighters will do what they can to avoid it.

"More will come, we are just getting started." she stated, the ball floated before them, "I want you to catch this, but I wouldn't catch it." she told Vo and with a flick of her wrist she sent the ball at her student.

Vo felt a momentary surge of surprise. She was connected to the Force inherently, and it warned her abruptly of the coming sphere. She opened her hands regardless, and caught the orb in her grasp. A stunning jolt flew in painful stimuli up her spine, forcing her to spasm briefly involuntarily. She winced, then smiled, and said, "That felt... wonderful, Master. However, you mustn't win. I can't allow it." Using what little of the Force she knew, she sent the ball right back at Lalita with as much strength as she could muster.

It hadn't been incredibly painful or anything of the sort, but it had most certainly been unpleasant. For that, Lalita needed to feel as she did. No one could escape Vo's wrath.

Lalita stopped the ball in mid-air before it even reached an arm length before her smirking at her apprentice. "I like you Vo." she told her, "Now I know you are able to catch, I want you to not catch it, but not drop it." she hinted by raising an eyebrow at the ball that floated between them.

She then pushed it back at Vo.

Clever. Vo sidestepped at the last possible instant. The floating sphere bounced uselessly against the wall and rebounded backwards; Vo, seeing an opportunity, again used the Force to push it back at her master. With the combined rebound force and her own added to it, it would be at least slightly more difficult to stop. "I like you too, Master. Just know that we are not friends. As we've already mentioned, friends are chains... and I am free." She smiled, a kind of empty grin that you'd expect from a dying person.

The truth, however, was quite the opposite. Vo would never let herself die - she was an instrument of the dark side's will. Her only, and in the end, ultimate, goal? The death of Rei Khana.

The death of her sister.

Lalita smiled, she could feel the power increase in her student. She stopped the ball and summoned another throwing both back at her student.

"they do as you command, they are tools, use them."

Vo actually felt a sudden surge of power as she matured in the Force. This time, she would not be hit so easily! She thought, concentrated heavily as her master threw not one but two of the stinging orbs at her, and transformed her pent-up thought into the physical realm. The first sphere instantly halted, and the second steadily slowed, eventually stopping right in front of the girl's nose. She opened her eyes and nearly slammed her head on the ball, but didn't squirm. Beads of sweat were beginning to form on her brow. Taking a deep breath, Vo pushed both of them back at her master - however, with an added twist. They both bounced on the wall, not losing any of their momentum as they did so, and Vo played the part of conductor. Both balls came from different angles at her master in an effort to make stopping them more difficult.

Lalita gave giggled as she ducked. "Good! Good!" she watched the spheres collide with one another over her. There was clank and sparks flew. Each one fell on the other side of Lalita in a type of dark ooze.

She climbed to her feet and looked at her apprentice, "Now, lets try again: close your eyes and listen." she told the girl.

Vo took a deep breath. The rage that had begun to wrap around her heart abruptly dissipated, and she sat down. She crossed her legs, closed her eyes, and began to think. "What next, Master?" she asked. Deep within her mind, it felt like reality was a cracking mirror, and she was looking into every faceted shard of its being. Her breath was visible, a cloud of crystallizing air in the depths of space. She reached out to feel the reality-mirror, and found herself zooming back to realtime. She saw herself uttering the words she had spoken not moments ago, and sank back into her material form. She repeated herself,

"What next, Master?"

"Good, good child. But you're missing something..." she said feeling the power radiating off her student. Lalita beckond Vo to follow. She approached a dark cabinet, opened it, and handed Vo a weapon, the lightsaber.

"You were born to wield this, with control, your enemies do not stand in your way." she stated.

((OOC: Sorry for the hold up.))

Vo marveled at the device in her hand. She swung it in a few testing strokes, and then gazed up at her master. There was only curiosity and not malicious intent glowing like hot coals in her eyes. "What if I were to kill you with this, Master? What would happen?" Her eyes turned back to the weapon. She thumbed a switch, and a shaft of glowing crimson erupted from its muzzle. The soft thrum of the lightsaber excited her. She stood up, jabbed at the open air around her, and waited for a task.

She pondered over the possibilities. Such a magnificent weapon in her control... Hm.

"Lets see you try." replied Lalita. Her blade obediently came to her hand and with a click-hiss, ignited. She looked back at her apprentice, "Well, I'm curious to see what you can do." she told her.

"Oh, but that was only very hypothetical..." Time to end the good girl display. Vo leapt into the air, coming up with a horizontal stroke to Lalita's side. Following up her assault, she lifted the blade over Lalita's head and brought it downward diagonally at between the neck and shoulder blade. If Lalita didn't stop her, it would cut her from shoulder to hip. "You should know: I very much like violence."

"You should know," Lalita easily blocked Vo's horizontal attack. She listened carefully to the Force, telling her where her student was coming from next.
"You are still very predictable." she spoke just loud enough so Vo would hear. Lalita fell to one knee to adequately defend from Vo's lightsaber. Lalita sent out a Force push to the girl's knees to throw her off-balance.

Exactly as Vo had predicted. Before the Force Push came to knock her legs out from under her, she dodged to the side. The invisible wave of energy missed her by a hairsbreadth and crashed into a shelf, sending ancient tomes and an assortment of miscellaneous things clattering to the floor. Then, knowing her master would most likely not be able to dodge an attack from behind, Vo sent as strong a Force Push as she could muster at the back of Lalita's head. Undefended as it seemed to be, it'd probably put her flat on her face. Then, not waiting, Vo made a pretend strike at Lalita's head. She didn't go through with it, lest she accidentally behead her master. "You should know... you are still very predictable," she said, her voice dripping with venom.
