Fear is not something known to men like Vortigen. Men like him are daemons to some, heroes to others. He has been noted as a lucky man by many who have served with him. Any Jedi knows that luck has nothing to do with it. The force wills that Vortigen be a hero, it wills the enemy to miss it's mark. At least, that's what he thinks. The Lorrdian Jedi is used as a synonym for bull-headed, once he has his mind on something he will see it through in the most direct and human way possible.
This is Vortigen of Lorrd, and you know of him well.
The most famed story of his exploits takes place on Lorrd itself. Vortigen returned home in order to see to conflict amongst leaders. Amongst them they could not decide to whom they truly owed allegiance due to a growing favour towards the Empire. One such leader wished to see this allegiance to the Empire so much so that he enlisted the assistance of the Sith.
At one meeting-expecting-to-become-argument both Vortigen and the Sith were present, neither hiding their presence. Vortigen openly challenged the pale skinned human who was about as intimidating as himself. If words would not solve the conflict then proof of the factions strength would.
The two ignited their light sabers and began aggressively. Due to their matching fighting styles which utilized powerful strikes the fight was drawn out by their familiarity with combat. Eventually Vortigen was disarmed by the Sith giving Vortigen a knee to the groin.
The bearded Jedi would have none of that and as he bent over tackled the Sith into a table which collapsed under their weight. The following wrestle resulted with Vortigen on top where his fists folded his opponents face in, ending his life. When he stood the blood was of such a dark red that it was black.
Lorrd for the time decided that the Alliance was the superior leader.
