OOC Thread

Never become complacent. You will find your death close at hand. The world keeps moving, and it will chip away at your defenses until they have fallen. This is why you must keep vying for power, vying to better yourself, vying for your Bogan brethren. One must set goals and continuously look onward!

Radzkie stood not so still, clicking the toe of his left boot atop of the ultrachrome floor of the ships training room. It wasn't that he was impatient, it was simply that he was thinking. He'd accepted two apprentices at the same time, and the best idea, he thought, would be to have them training together. Seeing as now he had some spare time, filling it with a bit of exercises wouldn't be against his traditional values. The better trained the more useful, at lest he had decided this ideal himself.

The shorter, tiny little man that was named Radzkie kept his hood pulled far over his head and face most of the time. Today was different, he had made up his mind to keep it draped over his shoulders. For this rare period of time his apprentices would see his platinum blond hair with those random darker streaks, and his deathly almost lifeless looking pearly colored skin. With the color of his eyes his figure had no real defining eye catching traits as they gave off the same lifeless feeling, but in a grey dulled color.

He had folded his arms, and put his chin on a slight angle upwards. It was a posture of a confident man, one use to being in command, and slightly a funny one for such a small fellow. Sometimes his personality shifted, today was one of them. Even with the shift he still stood at the corner of the room, partly hidden in a shady spot. It seemed some parts of him shifted whereas others he could never shake.

There was no rest for him, as he always was at work, but that was how he liked it.

Sniiv entered the training room wearing only a pair of slacks and a loose-fitting sleeveless shirt. The bulk of his muscular arms was displayed proudly and he walked straight with his chest out to strike an intimidating presence among his Bogan comrades. His bare feet made heft thumps on the ultrachrome floor as he crossed to the center of the room. In his right hand he held a lightsaber hilt firmly, his sucker-tipped fingers wrigling restlessly.

The rodian was eager to resume training, this time with an instructor. And he was prepared to utilize some of the fighting methods of the warriors he had observed back on Conscio during the recon mission that Radzkie had led himself.

As Galen Ryker walked through the halls towards the training room, he thought of everything. He was in full formal acolyte's robes with his hood up. The hood shrouded his face in shadow. His mind wandered. He thought of dark thoughts. The uprooting. Leaving the only home he knew to board some ship. Finally finding a master after years of training. But the thought of sharing the master irked him. He felt cold resentment for a man he had never met. Who did this master think he was to take to two apprentices? The fellow apprentice did not escape Galen's feelings either. Galen would have to establish his superiority early on to gain the approval of this master. No matter what feeling he harbored for this Radzkie, he knew that with his approval, doors would open up. He would be one step closer to finding his father. No, Galen pushed the thought from his mind. Cold, calculating, and ruthless.

Galen entered the training room. He looked around. Damn, the other acolyte had reached the room first. His next decision was diplomatic. He had to assert. Galen walked up the the short man with the platinum blonde hair and bowed, "I am Galen Ryker. I wish to learn the ways of the dark side."

With a stomp his left boot came to a halt flat on the ground.

"... That you will, boy." A soft, breath of a whisper: his speech pattern.

Referring to his apprentice as 'boy' came off slightly awkward, even if Radzkie himself hadn't known it. Being they only had around eight years in age difference something formal would of likely been more appropriate. Though, even if he had known, he wouldn't of exactly cared. Radzkie was not one to correct himself.

Above his head he waved his hand in the direction of Sniiv, his apprentice he had taken on the recon mission. "Galen, this is Sniff, or wait, whats your name again? Oh, right, Sniiv." Radzkie spoke with a malice of a snicker, "I crack myself up. Now ...enough with the formalities."

Bringing both his hands to the same level just in front of his chest he clapped them together once. "As you may expect, we will start off with a duel. Right into action ..." Radzkie paused, "Slow at the start, no force powers for now, and I will guide you as you fight. You and Sniiv, that is."

"Go now, take your starting forms, ready yourselves." With a 'shoeing' movement he waved for the two to hurry up, not aggressively or seriously, more passively.

Sniiv glared at Radzkie for a moment, angry at the man for saying his name wrong. Instead of acting on it he held it in. He could draw on it when he went up against the human. The acolyte knew his master had another apprentice but it didn't matter much to him. In the end it was just another obstacle to overcome.

The Rodian regarded Galen with a dismissive nod and took his position in the ring. His scaley skin rippled as his muscles tensed and he assumed the opening stance for Form VII, also known as Juyo. With a snap-hiss the lightsaber in his hand ignited and a crimson beam of energy extended up over his head and behind him at a 45 degree angle. His multifaceted eyes glimmered in anticipation and his mouth tightened.

This was going to be interesting. Galen looked at the Rodian. The fight shouldn't be to hard, but he could never underestimate. Galen prepared himself mentally. This was the test. All of his training had lead him to this moment. He would here show his strength and prove his superiority to the master. Galen drew his lightsaber. He flipped it behind his back and ignited it. The red blade made a low hum. Galen held his blade behind his back indicating his use of Form V or Shien. The way of the Krayt dragon. There would be no mercy.

With a hop or two Radzkie soon walked behind Galen, stopping just a few inches away, "Detail. The little things, ones repetitive behavior fools tend to ignore. Don't allow yourself to be a fool; factor in everything."

Then he moved again, pacing his steps around Galen in a way a predator would his prey, viewing his choice of form, or so it would seem that was what he was doing. He was putting extra pressure on the younger one, ignoring Sniiv all together. Radzkie didn't glance back at his other apprentice, rather he instead walked back to his previous 'perch' in the dimly lit corner then spun around to get a view of the two combatants.

Clasping his hands together he let the two boil a little more for a minute. Radzkie couldn't help but chuckle during the time, enjoying the thick air between them. All of this was, he believed, to be enjoyed and played upon.

"Start."

Sniiv snorted in response to Radzkie's command and commenced the exercise. He drew upon his experience to guide him in the beginning stages of the duel, using a circling charge to close in on Galen. He could tell the human was using an unorthodox variation of Shien simply by his opening stance. The benefits he would gain from such a grip were easy to assume, but assumptions were at times foolish.

The Rodian opened with a barrage of chops, his lightsaber humming like an engine as it cut through the air towards Galen in a relentless series of strikes.

Galen's training flashed before him. Shien was a highly offensive form, but it also allowed for amazing defense with the reverse grip. The duel would be short. Both apprentices would be to exhausted to continue. Galen just had to get the upper hand. Block! The Rodian's flurry was quickly deflected by Galen's lightsaber. Galen jumped back and began his attack. He ran towards the Rodian and brandished his weapon. Crimson blade met crimson blade and Galen sidestepped. He used his forward momentum to flip behind the Rodian and uppercut with his lightsaber.

Sniiv pivoted the moment Galen ascended from the ground as a red blur chopped down where he had been. Diverting his attack, the rodian rotated around and created a wide arc. The blades crackled as Sniiv's attack pushed Galen's uppercut away, extended just enough to attempt striking his opponent's upper arm. Emotionless, that was how the acolyte's outward appearance would feel. Inwardly his emotions were a roiling tempest, resent couples with hate which then was joined by jealousy and humiliation.

The man had a firm grasp of Shien, it was clear. But the motions of Shien were better suited to dealing with blasters, not lightsabers. Sniiv knew he had the upper hand. Suddenly he felt righteous fury at the offense. He was no weakling, he was a killer. An acolyte of the Bogan! Instead of bottling up his emotions he poured them into his sword arm. The muscular build of the Rodian practically loomed over Galen as Sniiv pressed into him again with powerful diagonal strikes that carved an X in the air.

Galen ducked out of the way and back flipped. This Rodian was good, but he had to win. Desire was his drive. He focused on that emotion and turned it into hatred directed at the Rodian. The Rodian was an obstacle. Obstacles had to be destroyed. Galen was no fool and knew that this was going to be a hard fought battle, but he would win.

Next strike. Galen, with his new stance of power, moved towards the Rodian and started a blunt force assault. The lightsaber was like a flame in his hand. It spun around in arcs, simply for show. Galen decided to showboat a bit before destroying his prey. After the show, Galen motioned to the right, made for the left, and swung at the Rodians open side.

Sniiv ignored the flashy display Galen put on, expecting a feint as he himself kept his weapon at the ready for a defense. Through the Force it was relatively easy to anticipate an attack's direction, but the angle would require skill. The Rodian reacted when the human pushed an assault and batted it aside with his lightsaber. Still he maintained an outward appearance of composure while seething inwardly with the Dark side.

He had survived Rodia's jungles, destroyed a clan leader and escaped the planet. Whoever this boy thought he was it meant nothing to Sniiv. Strength and stamina were his advantage. "Your weak," he said with his Rodian accent as he again laid into Galen with another series of chops. One after the other he used heavy-handed swings to attempt to batter his foe into submission. He kicked out at Galen's exposed abdomen with a sinewy leg, aiming to launch the man back.

Galen was kicked. He compensated by flipping backwards. The pain... The Rodian had hit him. He mustn't let the pain get to him. As soon as he starts to loose stamina... The pain was transfered to hatred. How could this Rodian hurt him?! This would not end well for the Rodian. Galen prepared and jumped. The Rodian deflected, just as he thought. The Rodian was preoccupied. Galen made a low blow for the Rodian's legs.

Sniiv leapt up, pulling his knees high as the energy blade passed inches below his feet. That attack was unexpected and he had been fortunate enough to avoid having his legs hewed off at the knees. The rodian, airborn now, took advantage and pushed his legs and lower body out, feet together and aimed at Galen's face for a dropkick. When he hit the ground, regardless of whether or not the human had been hit, Sniiv would recover and assume a defensive stance. "Whelp."

Galen was knocked in the face. A back flip helped to divert some of the kicks energy, but when he landed, he almost lost his balance. Galen took a second to recompose himself. This was not good. He let his hatred fuel him and ran towards the Rodian with a flurry of sword work. Galen's lightsaber flashed as it moved back and forth with the Rodian's. Sabers clashing, each acolyte struggled to get the upper hand.

Sniiv could feel his muscles warming as their battle continued. Parry, parry, chop, thrust. Like a choreographed dance the two circled the ring pressing each other's defenses. It was becoming a nice warm-up for the physically inclined acolyte. And he was enjoying every second. Galen seemed to be striking at perceived openings while Sniiv simply wanted to hammer through to hear a satisfying scream of pain. One that he still had hopes for.

Whenever Sniiv had an opening between blocks he struck out with an elbow, fist or knee. At one point he chopped down on Galen's guard and aimed to strike him in the side of the face with his lightsaber's pommel.

Galen could see the Rodian's move coming. He ducked out just in time and could feel the heat radiating from the humming blade. The battle was beginning to take its toll on Galen. He felt himself become weary... NO! He must win. The Rodian sought to not only defeat him, but to humiliate him as well. He must not let that happen. He could feel the anger rise up inside of him. It began to sear in his heart. He could feel the hatred for his opponent. His eyes turned yellow as the dark side took full control. Galen lunged straight for the Rodian for a tackle. His blade in the air, Galen came down with all of his force. The battle would be his.

Sniiv mustered a quick parry to deflect Galen's lightsaber away as the man tackled into him. Sniiv could feel the force of his weight in the attack and stepped back to absorb most of the momentum. The rest, however, he used against the human. The rodian rotated his upper body and leaned back, reaching his free arm under the man to direct his energy upwards and over to throw him away like the ragdoll he was in comparison to the larger reptilian humanoid.

The gnat was becoming a nuisance now, one that had to be squashed. Pain welled up in Sniiv's abdomen, a result of Galen's successful, albeit diverted, tackle. He could barely contain his blistering rage, fueled by the Dark side that flowed from the two like an unstopped faucet. It was an even match in scope. Sniiv was larger, stronger and stubborn. Galen was smaller, more agile and stubborn as well. But it did seem as if Sniiv's taunts were having the affect he had wanted.

Though he was not educated like others in psychological warfare, the rodian understood a bit about mind games went it came to prey, and Galen was quickly falling into the category. "You are weak!" spat the Rodian as he presented an air of calm and confidence, the result of training in Juyo. Because on the inside he was a hurricane of emotions.

Galen flew through the air and hit the ground hard. His attempt at a roll failed. He got himself up and attempted to regain balance. He had to get back into the fight. Galen cleared his mind. The Rodian taunted. Galen realized finally what was happening. This was a ploy. The Rodian was getting desperate. Perfect. He recovered and made a run for the Rodian. Galen continued to fight fiercely. Parry, dodge, roll, lung. It was like a frenzied dance of death. The crimson lightsabers twisting in and out in their deadly embrace. Each opponent deftly moved across the floor. Galen knew that the match had reached a stalemate. He could not keep his offensive Shien form for long. A battle of attrition was not something that he could withstand. He switched to the defensive, studying the opponents moves just as his father had taught him. He searched for the quirks and weaknesses of the Rodian's attacks. Found it. When the Rodian lifted his lightsaber for a slash, Galen made for his exposed side. The acolyte ducked out of the way of the Rodian's saber and made a swing at his torso.

(OOC: right, now I recommend not mentioning that Sniiv is attempting to strike. Because my last post is an attempt to throw. I think a reaction to that would be a more suitable post than what you have right now)
