Description:

The Gamma Maser is surgical weapon of destruction. The intense radioactive charge from a Nuclear fission reactor charges each of the bolts into a plasma which burns thousands of times hotter than a regular Mega-maser. The Destructive force of the weapon becoming completely dependant on the surface density it hits. The weapon is capable of ripping through ship hulls as well as shields with its huge radioactive energy content. The kinetic force focused to a pinpoint.

In testing, the Gamma radiation Maser was able to rip through Corvette armour plating without the detonation of its Kinetic and nuclear force. Meaning the beam was not inhibited enough by the armour to slow to a point the particles became unstable and exploded. With a particle blast radius of 100meters and an armour penetration average of two meters, depending on the material. The weapon is able to penetrate on average the accumulate of two meters of armour before detonating. Generally meaning the blast will detonate deep inside the targeted ship.

All the energy of a thermo-nuclear fission explosion harnessed and routed into a single fine cut plasmic laser. The weapon is the magnum opus of anti capital ship combat. Though useless at targeting and firing on small fighters. There is only one of this weapon, still not yet fitted to a ship for purposes of prototype testing, though even so, it is predicted that this weapon be too strong or too draining to employ on many ship classes, especially none lower than cruiser.

Pros: Incredible power, and range for a Maser, high wave frequency allows for deep armour penetration, Large radioactive energy signature allows for high shield damage.

Cons: VERY Low firing rate, Massive energy expenditure, Overheating, Ludicrously expensive, still experimental, must be forward mounted.
