Jabiim was a world known for its torrential rains, experiencing fewer than five days per standard year without precipitation. Would be expected that so much rain could cause problems to the population, but the Jabiimi were well prepared to deal with the constant downpour with the minimum of damage. However, sometimes not even all precautions are sufficient to prevent a tragedy. This time the endless rain of Jabiim was stronger than normal and caused several accidents across the planet.
Ephiny was visiting the nearby planet of Taskeed, collecting information about the history of this world for the Order's archives , when she heard about the situation in Jabiim. Since it was the duty of a Jedi to help those in need, she took a transport to the rainy planet, planning to see if they needed some help. During the journey, the pilot told her that the landing would occur normally, due to the rain having lessened. After looking outside the transport after it landed, the Jedi asked herself if this information was really true. It was like the entire sky was falling!
Only seconds after she stepped out of the transport, Ephiny’s cloak was already completely soaked. She ran to the main building of the spaceport seeking to escape the rain. There she overheard a conversation between a male Twi'lek and a human male. They were talking about how the storm caused a landslide that destroyed a mine of ore and trapped several miners inside it.
“Excuse me.” she said approaching the two “I hear what you said about a landslide. Where did this happen?” seeing by her clothes that she was a Jedi, they told Ephiny that it happened in a mine outside of the city and that the authorities were already there trying to rescue the miners, but they were having troubles due to the large amount of debris. After the Twi'lek gave her information on how to get to the mine, Ephiny said “thank you” to them and walked towards the exit of the building.
She stopped at the door, looking at what was happening in front of her, the rain had increased again. “I should have bought an umbrella in Taskeed.” Ephiny muttered to herself. After covering her head with the hood of the cloak, she ran in the direction of the mine. In her haste, she didn't notice a small stall beside the spaceport where a Mon Calamari was selling umbrellas.
