He had been so busy recently that Carrick was beginning to become more aware of the lack of time he had spent with his Mando. Reiel had been around, of course, but she had gone on some other missions and most of his security needs had been met by the ISC as a matter of course when it came to the Galactic Senate meetings and all the rest he had been doing more recently. There had been some objections to him bringing in his own security at first but Carrick had done his very best to ignore them.
Being the Secretary of Defense, he was largely able to do this without fear of repercussion. Unless Reiel turned out to be a massive security breach, he didn't believe that President Thorne would actually care all that much as his other colleagues within the ISC would only be able to use her against him if she did turn out to be such a leak.
And he wasn't worried about that for even a single moment.
He had called for her to meet up with him since he knew she had recently returned from a mission but he wasn't in his office or his flat either - instead he was currently in a warehouse used by the ISC. Specifically, it was used to stockpile the weapons and armor they were buying in bulk to become the new standard issue uniforms and armaments for the ISC Navy and Army.
There were more blasters in one place than he had ever even thought of before but they were all of a standard that he was certain they could all be proud of. Specifically, he was currently checking over one of the 'hunting rifles' that was to be assigned to the sharpshooters within the army. It was nothing short of a cannon at close range and capable of threading the hole of a needle at long range.
He was certain Reiel would love it.
