Seriously where is the originality in the big movies coming out this summer? Lets look at them shall we.
Xmen origins
Star Trek
Terminator salvation
Transformers 2
land of the lost
G.I joe
night at the museum 2
Angels and demons
Harry potter 11
All these movie are either sequels or based of something from another media, and even in some cases both!
Of course most will be great to watch, mostly cause we know and love them. So where is the original stuff to get pumped about, like district 9. I am sick of remakes and sequels. What about you?

If the film is good I don't care.

Star Trek was a remake off a remake but was one of the best films I've ever seen.

I myself am probably more interested in movies than games or books or even tv shows for that matter. I'm known for being able to name certain actors, directors and writers from an all manner of films.

But my favourite types will always be Arthouse films.

Theres actually a very interesting looking movie coming out called ''The Limits of Control'', backed by Focus Entertainment who specialize in those types of movies that push the envelope for story telling and character direction.

So don't lose hope yet.

Last original movies I saw was Taken and Gran Torino, both which are amazing, especially the latter.

Taken seriously kicked ass. It was a great movie. I love the part where Liam Neeson says "Your arrogance offends me the price just went up ten more percent." lol

"Every artist is a cannibal, every poet is a thief."

Something my professor always said- apparently it came from Bono. Just something that happens, most stories have been told imo, just a matter of making them a little better than the last guy.

I hate this notion that if a movie is a sequel, it's suddenly unoriginal.

unoriginal.

You raaaaaang? :CHappy:

All those films will be epic. Who cares if they aren't the most original films? Nothing is original nowadays anyway. It's almost physically impossible.

yeah, there aren't any great movies that will be remembered being made anymore, like Cool Hand Luke, or Field of Dreams.
