I enjoy tragic characters, not just tragic backgrounds. My last sith was a lot of fun, her entire existence was tragic and she ended up dying at the hands of the very people she had endured so much for in the hopes of saving them. An interesting twist I hadn't planned for ut turned out to be quite enjoyable.
The site needs more aliens.

This. As someone that has never RPed as a human, I can get behind this 100%.

Personally I don't see being an average joe in a universe where you can do nearly anything as that appealing tbh

Also I enjoy comedic stuff. Not over the top but if people have a good sense of humor i love seeing that in their chars.

I don't think he'd get caught up in the war, he'd probably not even be known as a murderer for the sheer fact that he only does it when people make a mess. I'd like to think he works at a middle or high school or some equally-disgusting public building.

The only thing I could imagine about a average joe is that they may be lonely. Most characters on this site are living out their own version of the Star Wars saga and I can't see some all powerful Sith/Jedi/Mando effectively roleplaying with Todd the Speeder salesman.

Jar-Jar Binks.

I suppose so, but was Jar Jar really that normal? He was quickly caught up in extraordinary circumstances. Honestly, the most normal character who had the largest impact I can think of was Dax the Diner owner. He was very normal for his time, a small business owner and he managed to point Obi Wan toward Kamino.

I mean someone gotta sell them speeders. lol But to play devil's advocate what if Todd the Speeder salesman was plucking along with his normal life only to be interrupted by the siege on Chandrilla. This once normal dude is thrown into a terrible situation and even though he has no background in war he's galvanized into joining a movement to strike back?

However, I do agree that writing a single sales person on a random lot on a planet would be lonely. I guess it really just depends on what the authors main goal is for the character.

Now if there were an agreement between two players to slowly transform Todd into a badass that could be an interesting arc for the character. It could be fun to see a Walter Whitesqe transformation from Todd the Speeder Salesman to Todd the Total Badass as long as it is organic and believable.

As well, I mean, ya having a moment where you roleplay an ave joe during the siege could be fun. Just trying to survive as beings far above him battle it out. Could be cool but in the end you will always want that character who is your Luke or Darth Vader. Thats my two cents at least.

Underdogs regardless of background or species can be appealing if Rped with passion in my personal opinion. Or characters from supposed stereotypical roots done with a new twist could be as well.

I dig that you don't care for Average Joe's. What would you say the site could use more of then, if ya don't mind me asking?

I also enjoy comedic characters. I always find that writing a funny character or scenario is extremely relaxing for me. lol I tend to try and keep at least one "Funny" character in my line up at all times to help break up the overly serious monotony of missions and what not.

Open threads are always an option as well. Most open threads tend to be a little chaotic so the chance for life changing events tend to be much higher. I don't think it's as important to have a collaborator if the proper legwork has been done on the original authors part. This is my opinion of course but this is getting a little off topic. lol i'm happy to continue this in a different location doe. :)

That's really cool. I'm glad you were able to work out something like that it sounds fascinating for sure. :D I am sorry if you lost your character before you were ready though. that always sucks.

Nah it's cool. She was a Jedi that choose to allow herself to be corrupted by the dark side, thinking she could handle it, she couldn't it. Her end goal was to just do as much damage to the sith as possible, and I was actually putting a plan in place with a few other like minded people to blow up the sith temple on Korriban. If she hadn't died I would have been executing that very plan in full right around now I guess. Still, she was killed off after she refused to fight a couple Jedi. Surrendered and everything, but Prudii killed her to prove a point to the other Jedi about not taking prisoners. Lol. Killed by the very people she sought to protect, how very tragic, and I do oh so love tragedy.

Personally, I'd like to see more corporate intrigue. Take the fight to the stock market and the board room for once. Beat your enemies up with a pen rather than a lightsaber or some fancy pants armor with 15 different HUD functions and a lightsaber resistant crotch guard.

I'm really not sure how that would work on here, but I'd love to see it played out or attempted for sure.

Honestly I'm not sure. We seem to have a lot of everything on here. And when someone finds a unique hole they'll fill the niche. It's really something, the community here.

Actual Hutt chars. Some of the most fun I've ever had on this forum was in the 4th timeline where me and a bunch of people played actual Hutts for the Hutt faction. We even launched a coup with 'em. This mofo was easily one of my fave chars ever.
