Altair was in a noticeably good mood as they walked out, his tail swishing back and forth. This time he glanced at the other customers on his way out and Celeste was right - most of them didn’t even give him a sideways glance. He truly didn’t stick out like some abomination on this planet and it made him like it even more. Their entwined fingers, the way he felt that elation, all of it made him a little wary but he ignored those feelings. These were dangerous thoughts that always resulted in everything collapsing in the end. He purposely put up walls so he wouldn’t make the same mistakes again, and it was difficult each time.
They stepped out towards the speeder, Altair smiled at her, “That food was fantastic. I wanna stop by a grocery to grab some local spices. I’ll weave ‘em into whatever I make for you,” As she talked about going back to her estate, he couldn’t help but chuckle a little. He slipped his arms loosely around her waist and tugged her close, glancing down at her, “Estate, eh?” Altair said with a teasing grin as he swayed her side to side as if they were almost dancing, “If we go back to your estate and we’re alone, I don’t think I’ll wanna leave,” He recalled their hotel stay far too vividly.
“What’s your idea?” Altair decided he would simply let her lead the way and allow himself to be surprised. He was used to driving things, but he clearly didn’t need to for once.
