Brent Haldon
Prime Minister of Canada

Sean%20Bean.jpg

Name:
Brent Haldon
Age: 42
Country: Canada

Born in the metropolitan of Toronto, Brent was raised in a poor family, and he had no hopes of becoming anyone of importance. He showed great intelligence in school, even if his marks did not show it. He was interested little by school, but he always had a liking for politics. When he was in grade 11, he became very actively interested in the greater political map. He showed great skill in his political courses, and in his final year of high-school, he was granted a scholarship for UofT, or the University of Toronto.

He graduated with honours, and soon started his political career, becoming the youngest ever Minister appointed to the Cabinet; Minister of Foreign Affairs at the age of 25. His work was largely successful, and was awarded a number of awards, both nationally and internationally. He worked as Minister of Foreign Affairs for eight years, serving under three separate Prime Ministers. Canada’s representative for the UN for nearly as long as he had served as Minister of Foreign Affairs, Brent Haldon became well known for his talent at sorting through chaos and defusing very hostile situations.

He worked tirelessly with the UN during the crisis of Jerusalem, and seemed, a few times, to almost dispel the chaos, and return a measure of peace in the Middle-East. However, it seemed whatever he resolved, new problems surfaced. With the announcement of Russia’s support of Iran. The UN appointed Brent the head of the UN Peace Corps, a new division of the UN created in to work to end the turmoil through political negotiations in the Middle-East. The Russian government’s reform marked a troubled time for Brent’s career, and he nearly quit, if not for the greater outcome.

His work with the UN, and his work with the UN Peace Corps came with measured fame; and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for it. Shortly after, he resigned as Minister of Foreign Affairs an honoured man. He would run as an independent in the elections, triggered by the news that Canada would continue to trade with Russia and China, even with the events that had occurred over the recent years. And for the first time in Canadian History, an independent was elected Prime Minister. With his election spawned the new political party simply called Canada Unify. He has served as Canada’s Prime Minister for ten years already.

Name: Rupert Hunter
Age: 50
Country: UK
Appearance:

13.jpg

Brief History: Born in London, England, Rupert was always the smart kid in school. Always got good grades in all subjects(Except PE, ironically). But once out of school, he joined the Military and served two tours of duty in Iraq, having a few close calls while there. Once he recieved an Injury from an IED in the leg that prevented him from returning to Active Duty(An order he reluctantly agreed to), Rupert ended up waiting at home to see how the war went, and witnessed the massive changes in the American Government.

Though he applauded America's President Clinton, he was up in arms over he choice to let the Middle East sort itself out, since he knew first hand how much the people there hate each other. It was around that time that he Decided to run for Prime Minister, though it was more to keep his friends from nagging at him about it, as some ideas he'd had caused them to tease him at the local pubs. Once he actually started running, however, Rupert was as determined to win as he had been in Iraq years ago.

Though his campaign started off sluggish and with very small groups of supporters, Rupert managed to earn enough money to get out on the road to campaign in larger areas(As he was currently living outside of the Major Cities) such as London, his hometown. The speeches he made were very well written, very well said, and very well presented. At some, he wore dress uniforms from his Military Days, at most he wore pressed suits. But still, his name was being spread mostly through word of mouth.

It was after three months that his campaign advisor, his brother George, suggested that they take some of the money that was being spent on travels and give it to the few people they had working on flyers. But Rupert told him to hold off on that for a few days while he thought of something that would catch people's eyes, get their attention, and overall make them love him.

Just as the fighting began to die down in the now Radical Controled Middle East, Rupert Hunter posters and flyers began to pop up in Birmingham, Manchester, and, more prominently, London. Each of which had Rupert's smiling Face on it, behind him flew the flag, and the quote, "History is our Greatest Ally, Knowledge our Greatest Weapon". It would soon become the motto for his campaign.

Sure enough, the plan worked. And just as President Clinton's last year turned into her last month, Rupert was appointed Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. He made a speech shortly into his second Month in the position, in which he said;

Good people of Britain. It is my honor to serve you as your Prime Minister, and my hope that we can remember the mistakes and follies of the past so as to rectify them and prevent further mistakes. Though, I ask you all to remember that I am only human and mistakes will be made.

Anyone else remember the motto for my campaign? 'History is our greatest ally, knowledge our greatest weapon', it went. It is no different today than it was then. Know that my time in this office shall be spent trying to improve our schools even further so that our grandchildren will not have to know the horrors that we know of now. It is this man's hope that by helping our children, grandchildren, and even great-grandchildren, become more intelligent that we could ever hope to be, that they will recognize problems in the world and know peaceful solutions to said problems. Hopefully, they will not know war.

If you'll excuse me for quoting an American President, "Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction". In my opinion, Mr. Reagan was right. Freedom must be protected. How it is protected, however, is always up to debate. Currently, it seems to us all that a major war is brewing, and that is probably the reality of it. War is looming, and it's just over the horizon. I ask that you keep all of us in the Government in your prayers so that we may make the right decisions. So that we can protect the Freedom our Fathers gave us and preserve it for our Children.

Thank you.

Albeit a short speech, it was recieved with mixed emotions. Some considered him a War Monger, others a patriot. Still others thought him to be crazy. Rupert knew that he was right. And when Countries started making alliances, he was proven right.

When Russia came out and admitted that they gave Iran the capacity to creat nuclear weapons, Rupert was said to have locked himself away in his room at 10 Downing Street. This was never confirmed as truth or fiction.

And so the world waited as countries built up their armies and chose sides. War seemed just a second away at every moment. It was the Cold War all over again. Then came the bombing of the UN Security Council. Many countries were shocked, some started pointing fingers. Rupert personally believed it to be either Iran or Russia, though there was no evidence to prove anything.

I liked Napoleon and that is a great picture and ruined the thread by making the first post that didn't contain your leader's bio.

And before anyone says anything, I know in real life he was riding a mule.

Dr. Who up there makes a bit more sense than using Napolean, dude. At least try to use a picture of someone in the modern world, though someone who is not an actual politician.

Sin, since I know who you want to use, that goes for you too.

'You know what's great about ruling Cuba in the midst of a World War?
Noone cares what the hell we do, as long as we don't steal their guns.'

El Presidente
Diego Famosa

'Communism doesn't work? That sounds like a challenge, comrade.'

Age: 34

Country: Cuba (Presently Neutral)

Appearance: Dark of hair and of eyes, Diego Famosa is not the stereotypical dirty Cuban that many think of when trying to visualize the people of the communist country. Bringing a new look to the Cuban Dictator's wardrobe, Diego instead wears dark suits and fedoras in stark contrast to the more widely accepted green jacket, pants and cap. Seeking to achieve a much cleaner representation of communist Cuba, Diego is always clean shaven and neatly groomed, his dark hair neatly combed beneath his hat.

History: Maybe later.

It's pretty funny that the only person that looks distinguished in this thread so far is Stephen Colbert.

Cinque Djimon
43
Faction: M(oto) K(wa) U(huru) (Swahili for 'Flame of Freedom')

Brief History: With the rise of a new global conflict, the minimal aid given to African countries in need of assistance became nonexistant, causing starvation and disease to be more widespread, and Civil war to rise once more. A group of Revolutionaries from Mozambique created an army to end the troubles of Africa, and they recieved men from all countries in Africa. This new group, knighted 'Moto Kwa Uhuru', ended the civil war, and turned their effort to battle the famine and disease.

They are lead by a veteran of war as well as one of the fathers of the group, Cinque Djimon, and have no alligiance to any side of the war. They attack all countries with quick raids, taking every last bit of supplies, and spreading it in Africa.

Singaporean President
Houshin, Damai (57)

After his election in 2028, President Houshin faced the growing crisis as the world superpowers prepare for war. He, initially, takes a defensive stance, and sent diplomats to the major trading partners of Singapore to negotiate a neutrality. However, tensions between Singapore and Russia prevented a hopeful outcome. China soon followed suit, and President Houshin feared that they would declare war on Singapore. He quickly placed the nation on a state of alert, hoping that Singapore would not be too involved with what he feared would come: World War III.

Oh, sorry... If that was in the "brief" summary, then I missed it.
