BIOGRAPHY

Born in Centares during the Force Eternal Era, Xylan was the only child of Vhiran and Kaylah Shrialla. His family could trace its origins to the colonization of the planet and from there to the aristocracy of the Xim’s empire. At least was it that members of the Shrialla family would proudly claim, with some scholars arguing that there was no proof to sustain it. Unfortunately, these researchers would never live long enough to prove their declarations or would end with careers destroyed.

The Shrialla were one of the wealthiest families of Centares, owning several industries on the planet. However, this wealth wasn’t capable of saving Vhiran and Kaylah’s life in a tragic accident, leaving Xylan as an orphan when he was only three years old. Since he didn’t had other relatives alive, the person that became his tutor was Zanah Covos, a Morellian that had worked with the family since the time of his grandfather

Besides taking care of Xylan’s education, Zanah was also responsible for the administration of the Shrialla assets. She continued with the family’s policy of making deals with ruling powers, first the Sith then the Empire. The Morellian also prepared her ward to do business the same way that his father and grandfather did, even putting him in the Imperial Academy as a way to show that the family supports the ruling system.

When he got old enough, Xylan took over the family business. However, he had grown up as a very ambitious individual, desiring more than Centares had to offer. With the growing Imperial bureaucracy, the young man had aimed to worm his way inside it. He applied for the position of Imperial Senator, using the fact that he studied at the Imperial Academy as leverage against its rivals.

Now in the position of Senator, Xylan shows to the public that he wants to do what is the best for his planet and the Empire, while secretly pursuing his own ambitions. Meanwhile, he needs to deal with the fact that his babysitter is his Chief Aide.

Personality

For the public, Xylan maintains a facade of a caring and sympathetic individual, always willing to help those that come to ask his help. However, he can be arrogant and hedonistic.

Skills

Xylan is smart and knowledgeable about both business and political matters. Having taken etiquette lessons since childhood, he is good at dealing with other politicians and nobles. He can pilot a ship reasonably well and is also capable of defending himself with a blaster. Given his time at the Imperial Academy, he also have some militar training. He has no talent in the Force, thinking that it’s only rubbish made up by the Jedi and Sith. His disdain also extends to the Imperial Knights, who he sees as only a bunch of overglorified soldiers. He is also very efficient with lies and hiding his own thoughts, with what he says in a conversation not being what he really thinks.
