One lonely member of a species lost to the mists of history. None alive can place the origin of the enigmatic species of force-sensitives. The great Jedi Masters Yaddle, Yoda, and ancient Vandar Tokare, each has carried the burden of their species in turn. Yago has carried his for eighty-seven years. For nearly a century the wayward traveler has wandered the Outer Rim Worlds, mooring in insignificant ports on insignificant planets. The last seven years he has lived on the secluded planet of Miranda, a near-lifeless ball of rock that struggles to support anything larger than a human being. There he cared for Master Corfu, an ailing Jedi. Corfu had witnessed the fall of the Alliance to the Sith first hand.

In turn Corfu taught Yago in the ways of the Force. The old Master Jedi was sick and dying; chronic wounds inflicted upon him by the Sith on Coruscant. The skills he passed on to Yago were simple, rudimentary. It was all the Jedi could do to repent for his failure. When his death came, after long weeks of agony, the young Yago struck out, once again. This time he left with a purpose. He must find the Jedi and continue Master Corfu's legacy.

Personality

Yago is a restless soul. Although old by most species’ standards Yago knows his life has just begun. That much he knows of his species. Nothing more of his species is known to Yago or, it has become apparent to Yago, the Galaxy at large. This realization has plagued Yago’s travels for decades, left buried in the back of his mind.

Life alone and on the move fosters a perceptiveness and self-reliance that defines Yago. Nothing of note escapes the swamp-green brilliance of his eyes. The few who can call Yago 'friend' know Yago by his eyes. He can get a certain way and it is immediately noticeable in his eyes.

Beliefs
You can rely on any one but yourself to protect and care for you. Society is a strenuous safety-net with numerous holes one can fall in to if he is not prepared to remove himself entirely and return to the basics of the species.

One must also always answer the call to duty. If you are capable then you must act to best utilize your time in the Galaxy. If you are not capable then you must act to mitigate your own projections of suffering in the world.

Biography

XK40
Yago was raised on a refuge-colony on XK40. The planet, on the edge of the Outer Rim, void of intelligent life lies near a cluster of black holes. XK40 had become a refuge for wayward ships unlucky enough to be caught within the cluster's gravitational pull, destroying their hyperdrive and forcing them to land on XK40. With no material to repair their drives they were forced to craft a rudimentary living for themselves. Over the centuries craft trickled out of the sky to add to the rag-tag community of XK40. Yago was ‘born’ in to a bustling community several hundred strong.

No one on XK40, save for Yago, was of his species, and so Yago’s appearance on the doorstep of a farmstead, only a few days old, was a local mystery that marked the beginning of the green infant’s life. The community of refugees, used to living among a dozen different aliens, accepted the infant in to their collective care. For the first thirteen years of his life Yago lived an enjoyable, simple life of a child.

Trouble for little Yago began when it became apparent that Yago was maturing slower than the other children. Whereas the other thirteen year old boys experienced all the chaotic energy of young teenaged boys, Yago still behaved like he was ten. His old friends had outgrown him. For the next three years Yago played with the younger kids before, seemingly around the age of sixteen, he began to finally show the rambunctious signs of teenagehood.

It was at this point, during puberty, that Yago’s potent force sensitivity began to manifest. For the next four years, as Yago matured, so did his aptitude for the force. By the time he was twenty years old he was the unofficial ‘counsellor’ for the community, as his connection to the force had gifted him with immense empathy and insight.

Life on XK40 was cut-short with the arrival of a ship, in-tact, during Yago’s 26th year. Initially curious and excited, the community quickly became a panicked mob as armed men and women burst from the ship’s hatches and fired on the small retinue sent out to meet them. Bandits, pirates, it did not matter who they were, they were going to kill Yago’s family.

To this day Yago’s memories of what followed are fragmented. He, along with most of the other able-bodied men, gathered what few arms the community had to attempt to repel the invaders. A bloodbath followed in which Yago and a small handful were the only to survive. The invaders had made it to the commune and had begun their attack proper when everything went black. When next Yago woke he was in a field of sweetgrass some five hundred meters away from where he last remember.

The invaders were gone; no sign was left of them. Their ship remained where it had landed, but Yago could tell from the scorched tufts of earth that they had not survived whatever had thrown him half a kilometer.

The commune was in relatively good condition but the entire town was empty. Not a single one of the refugees could be fined and Yago could pick up tracks of no kind. It was impossible for a town of four hundred to simply disappear.

For weeks Yago looked for his family to no avail. Eventually he resigned himself to his solitude. For five years he lived alone on XK40 before, one day, he simply got up and left. He had spent enough time in the preceding half-decade within the belly of the invader’s ship to familiarize himself with the ship’s operations. Calling up the ship’s last flight plan he took note of the path the invaders had used to navigate the cluster of black holes and began to retrace the ship’s path. Breaking free of the cluster he plotted in a course for the nearest habitable planet and left XK40 behind him.

Utapau

The ship had originated on Utapau. Without knowing anything of the planet Yago plotted the course, four days hyperspace travel from XK40's system, and waited. The planet seemed as good a destination as any. It's connection to the people who had uprooted Yago played at the fringe of Yago's mind.

Sun-baked Utapau's native sentients lived in the millions of sinkholes and canyons that dot the planet's surface. Yago's ship had an out of the way market, wedged in to a slip-canyon some hundred kilometers long that snaked away from a barely-significant sinkhole community. This northern market place was called Dushkahr.

The minute Yago's feet touched the arid ground he knew why he had come, truly. The comptroller had informed the ship, named The Hornquill on Utapau, apparently -It's logs had been tagged with Vornihex- that the crew would want to check in with Farqua. That name was as good a lead as Yago could hope for and it had fallen in to his lap.

The name led Yago deep in to the belly of the slip-canyon. Farqua was the reigning strong-boss of Dushkahr, a sometimes crime lord, most of the time foreman, of the entire slip-canyon. He oversaw all construction and repair and had unlimited authority to shut down and evacuate sections of the canyon for emergency repairs. It was a sought-after benefit to have Farqua sanction an illicit opportunity, as he could practically ensure their success.

Yago's meeting with Farqua was much more pleasant than he anticipated. The man, a barrel-chested Utapauan, short for his race but still towering over Yago, was most definitely a foreman first. After assurances that Yago was not looking for trouble Farqua explained that the crew of The Hornquill had been an overzealous, violent bunch that Farqua barely tolerated. He had hoped he had been rid of them for good when they disappeared five years ago; when he was informed of the ship's return he had felt a pit in his stomach grow.

Yago left Farqua's with a job, of all things, transporting construction material from the foundry-holes and Dushkahr. Farqua assured Yago that the Port Control would have updated records on The Hornquill before Yago's next flight. Confused but also filled with a purpose, however momentarily, Yago returned to The Hornquill. The next day he began his job, his first real job. The steady work, good pay, and good people satisfied Yago for nearly seven years. During that time Yago had become a trusted and useful ally of Farqua and the foreman had gone to great lengths to convince Yago to stay. But the young (only 38 years old) Yago knew that he did not want to live his long life on Utapau. He had spent seven years in civilized space without ever leaving the Utapau system. He wanted to explore and to discover.

And so he left. The Hornquill had been fitted for long-distance travel, all on Farqua's credits, and Yago, unsure of where to go, decided he'd simply head core-ward. Plotting a course that would take him down the Rimma Trade Route, Yago set the autopilot for two weeks. After that, he'd be on the border between the Colonies and Core Worlds. Hopefully he'd figure out where to go during those two solitary weeks in hyperspace.
