"So much for plan A, eh?" Lani mumbled to herself, almost certain that nobody would hear her. It had been weeks—or maybe a month or two—since a Jedi had brought her to that world. And so far, she hadn't found what—or whom—she was looking for.
On the bright side, the Jedi were very welcoming, if not a little preoccupied with their own problems. They even allowed her to train and live with other initiates. And it turned out that Lani indeed had the same eerie powers as her elder sister. The Force. Still, it was only part of the reason she was there.
That day, the young Zeltron found herself in the courtyard of the Yavin temple. She sat on top of a cargo container taller than her, and observed the ships coming and going. A half of the BD-2 electrostaff was in her hand. The Zeltron would throw the baton up in the sky: tracing its every move, trying to become its move.
Usually it would result withe the baton just falling by her, forcing her to move awkwardly and catch it. But sometimes, the baton did hover in the air and spin like a helicopter, before landing directly into her palm. It was at those moments that she'd smile and stop looking at the departing ships for a while. "Maybe it'll work out." again, the Zeltron mumbled to herself after making sure that nobody in front of her would hear her thinking outloud. "Is this how Kori felt here at first?"
