Surprise! I bet you didn't expect that, another new person posting in the New Members forum.

Any-who. After doing some reading this place looks fun, and I was hoping to create a character and get into the mix (prefer to get into the Sith faction).

Figure I will give some background info. My name is Ben, I have been a roleplayer for a long time. Have done d20 tabletop gaming for about 20 years, and play by post gaming for about 6. I tend to lean towards playing villains, mostly because I like the troubled personalities but also because I feel that it takes a great villain to make a truly great hero.

My hobbies in life are spending time with my wife and daughters, practicing martial arts (Tae Kwon Do, Kumdo and Hapkido), roleplaying and reading (I will read almost anything sci-fi and fantasy based).

Thanks for the warm welcomes everyone, very much appreciated! Starting to feel like home already.

So, I have a concept for a character and I want to give it a go. Do I write it up using the template and post it here? Or in the Character Profile forum? How do I then get accepted into a faction? Does someone review those profiles then post in the thread?

Sorry for the questions, just don't want to do something really dumb right off the bat.

All character profiles go to the Character Profile forum[obviously]. There is no process of approving them, but if he has an incredible power like to make waffles out of midair you might want to ask an admin.

If you want to join a faction, you will have to post in the corresponding faction's sign up thread with a link to your character profile and the rank you'd like. Usually new members start out at a low rank, like in the Jedi Order you'll start out as a Padawan, or an Acolyte in the Sith. In the Alliance and Empire it's customary to start out as a Private - Sergeant. It just depends on the quality of your profile.

And coolbeans on you being a Martial Artist, I've been informally training myself in Karate and scratching Muay Thai.

I wish I had more time and cash for martial arts. Muay Thai would definitely be one I would love to try, judo as well. It is amazing how addicting that stuff can be.
