Sue me, but I was never fond of Lumiya. She seemed so two dimensional to me.

Of course I am going to sue you, this is America, this is how you get rich. Goodness forbid someone has a subjective view or opinion.

Regardless, would be nice if it wasn't so male-dominant. I mean the creators of these characters would have to have met a woman with a grudge sometime in their lives? The back stabbing, the smack talk, the manipulation, seriously, something needs to be re-examined here.

He wasn't really in the movie, but the Episode III novelization makes him more tragic.

Dooku seemed rather tragic in most of the novels in which he was shown. I liked the character.

Yeah, I have seen him in some novels, and he exhibits some tragic hamartia; that being said, I can't see a tragic flaw or uncompromising values!

Darth Zannah, Bane's apprentice.

^
Always liked her, course I was sad as all get when she turned evil. It was done so well, yet still with so much anguish.
Then she turned into a fantastic Sith Lord.

It may be cliche, but Darth Vader is my favorite. While I was born in the prequel era, my uncle made damn sure that he showed me the Original Trilogy before I watched the new ones. And ever since then, I have been a Vader-fan, from the start because he was, in my young opinion, a straight-up badass. I continue to be a big fan of Vader because A, he is one of the most powerful Force-users in existence, since he is the 'Chosen One'; B, he refuses to take shit from anyone (i.e. bounty hunters, imperial officers, baron administrators), and C, he is, still, a straight-up badass.

Palp, because even in the EU (not including fan-fiction), he is the most powerful Sith Lord that ever existed.

Why are the Sith the only thing that interest you about Star Wars?
I have very particular, narrow-set interests, it's just the way I am. I don't dislike the rest of Star Wars, but it just doesn't appeal to me as much as the Sith.

As for Dooku/Tyrannus, I appreciate what they were trying to do with his story, but I just find his general character and personality really lame. While Sidious/Palpatine is thoroughly entertaining to watch, Tyrannus is just boring. He was way too civilized for my taste, I prefer Sith who are debached, barbaric and completely embracive of their passions. I never found any passion in Dooku, he was just Sidious' pawn.

My favourite female Sith is Darth Maladi, but Andraste is a better Sith Lady than any of the canon girls in my opnion XD

A, he is one of the most powerful Force-users in existence, since he is the 'Chosen One';
As far as Sith Lords go, Vader was actually one of the least powerful. Even his lightsaber skills were diminished due to his injuries. Sidious could create wormholes, Sadow could create supernovas.

Perhaps, but one thing you have to consider is the level of canon of all these things. The movies take precedence over all other forms of media, including novels, TV, and cartoon. In the movies, Anakin Skywalker was the Chosen One and one of the most powerful Force-users in existence. Yes, his level of power and skill did diminish somewhat when he became Vader, but he was still one of the most powerful Force-users there had ever been. Yeah, Sidious did create wormholes and Sadow created supernovas, but those were all acts done within the premise of a comic book, whereas Vader/Anakin was stated to be a very powerful Force-user in the movies.

But you and I are both correct, as if you look at the entire Expanded Universe, then yes, Vader could be seen as one of the lower ranked among the most-powerful Sith Lords, but the movies stand tall, in canon, over the comics.

This is slightly off-topic, but I get slightly irked every time a new Sith Lord comes up in comics or books, and it seems like they are all 'one of the most powerful beings who ever lived'. I mean, originally, when it came to the most powerful Sith, when it started with the movies, there were only three names on that list: Pleagus, Vader, and Sidious. Now, with the comics and novels, now we have Sadow, Ragnos, Vitaite, Revan, Sion, Bane....

In no way shape or form do the movies hold any more canonical importance than the EU, at least they certainly shouldn't. What I love about Star Wars is that it is a whole galaxy of millennia of history and stories, it is far too big a galaxy for greater importance to rest with the tiny piece of history which occurred during the era of the films.

Vader being the "chosen one" doesn't even make any sense, because a hundred years after his death the Sith and Jedi are still rising and falling and there is no balance in the Force. I personally dislike the idea of a "chosen one", because as I said before, the galaxy, and the Force is far too big and far too eternal for it to have a sealed destiny revolving around one individual. Especially since the "chosen one" idea was a Jedi prophecy, and the Jedi make up a tiny minority of the whole galaxy. The Sith idea of the Sith'ari makes a bit more sense because the prophecy revolved around the Sith only, and not the entire galaxy or the Force itself.

As for Vader, great character, great story, shit Sith Lord. In fact all the Sith in the films, apart from Sidious, were pretty bad in my opnion.

Only three Sith Lords I know have been confirmed canonically to be "one of the most powerful Force-users in history", Darth Sidious, Marka Ragnos and Emperor Vitiate. Why shouldn't more Sith Lords come into the comics and books? The Sith Order is over 7000 years old, and the Empire of the Sith Race goes back 100,000 years, that's alot of Sith Lords.

I'm expecting to see a lot of Vader and Revan here.

Anyway, my favorite Sith as a character would have to be (you guessed it) Darth Sidious. Now, I'm not going to go into the comics, cause those get a little ridiculous. But Sids was arguably one of the most conniving, manipulative, treacherous, and powerful members of the Sith Order. Yes, the Grand Plan wasn't fully developed by Palps, but you gotta give something to him. He was the one that intiated the plan, and that deserves something. He managed to get inside the Republic. He masked his presence from literally tens of thousands of Jedi. He started a civil war and controlled both sides. He exterminated the Jedi and destroyed the great Republic that so many Sith before him failed to do. Above all, he created a legacy, a mark in history, that lasted for generations (in the form of the Galactic Empire, Krayt Empire, Thrawn's Empire, Fel Empire, as well as the Galactic Alliance, New Republic, and such). Palpatine single-handedly changed the galaxy, and that's more than most of the Sith can say.

As for every Sith being powerful, I wouldn't say they were ALL powerful. It's only that we focus on the most powerful. Really, for every powerful Sith Lord, there's 50,000 average Sith. Just saying :P

Sidious, I loved how he turned the Republic into the Empire and had most Jedi killed while appearing as a fragile old man doing the best for the galaxy.

I like Revan, but considering how he really seemed at his most powerful, Force-wise and everything, after he was 'redeemed,' I don't know that I would be too keen on putting him on this list.

Now, if we did a "Favourite Force Users of All Time" thread...

I totally agree with you! Technically, however, he is right: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Canon
