NAME: Yuri Sokolov AKA The Overkill

APPEARANCE:
Yuri stands at 6'1" and weighs around 168 pounds. He has hazel eyes and dirty blond hair. Yuri is a bit on the thinner side, but he's still in good shape. Yuri has been diagnosed with RBF by his colleagues, otherwise known as "Resting Bitch Face". Seldom does he smile but his menacing glare should not be mistaken for actually anger or disdain. Most the time, he's not even aware that he's glaring. The scars on his cheeks don't help much, however. He prefers wearing comfortable clothes, like simple t-shirts and sweats, when he's off duty but wears his officer's uniform with pride. Yuri has invested in epidermal disguise technology that he only applies to his cheeks where his scars are.
The Overkill, however, always seems to be smiling. His gaze is crazed and energetic instead of bored and angry. The Overkill loves wearing the most ludicrous of suits, making him look like a booshie clown. In fact, he goes as far as to doing his own demented make up, furthering the impression that he's just some clown.
ATTRIBUTES:
Yuri is an avid combatant that can utilize just about anything as a weapon. He's not some crazy badass warrior or anything, but he can hold his own if he needs to. Yuri's real talent lies in perception and investigation. People, for him at least, are like open books. He can analyze every inch of a person or crime scene and gather what he needs to either catch the criminal or figure out if someone is lying to him.
The Overkill specializes in explosives of all manner, and will go to great lengths to see something obliterated. He can make a bomb out of stuff you can buy from the market-place, if he can't get any real ones illegally. When explosives won't cut it, the Overkill prefers vibro blades over blasters. And, as much as he likes dicing people up, he makes an avid technological slicer as well. He even wears a clown-styled face mask with a frowning face, symbolizing his alter ego, Yuri Solokov.

PERSONALITY:
Yuri is a natural psychopath. As himself, Yuri Sokolov is a quieter and calmer man. He's respectful and courteous to everyone he meets and is a loyal friend through and through. Responsibility is very important to him, which has made him a bit of a perfectionist. His ambitious nature to get jobs done right makes him a great detective, but it can also blind him to a more obvious and simple solution to his problems. He is dedicated to solving every case he comes across. However, this is all just a mask he wears to hide his true intentions and malicious nature.
As the Overkill, he is much louder, eccentric, and obnoxious. This is what he considers to be freedom. He has little regard for human life and enjoys the thrill of slowly ending someone's life. Like Yuri, however, he is a bit of a control freak, no matter how chaotic he seems. He likes feeling like he has power over other people's lives, and he'll do anything to keep it. The Overkill doesn't have an end goal- he simply wants to watch the galaxy burn.
BIOGRAPHY:
Yuri grew up in an abusive house hold in the lower levels of Taris. His father was a violent alcoholic and all his mother would do was standby and watch. This has gone on for a few years up until his twelfth birthday.
His father had gotten himself drunk, as per usual, but had gone a little too far when he shattered his beer bottle and threatened his wife to fetch him more drinks. Yuri’s mother grabbed the kitchen knife instead.
Yuri’s father burst into an outrage that ended with his mom dead on the kitchen floor. When his father saw that Yuri was crying, naturally terrified, he took the kitchen knife himself, tell his son to stop his crying and put a smile on his face.
With the knife, he was able to carve into Yuri’s left cheek as if he was smiling. Luckily, before he got to the other side of the kid’s face, the authorities had arrived and took Yuri’s father into custody.
During his teenage years, Yuri held back his monstrous yearning to hurt others the way he had been hurt so they could feel his pain. He was sick of the stares he got from the half-smile scar on his cheek. One evening, he found himself to be cornered in alleyway he used as a short cut- and to avoid other people.
With a makeshift shiv, Yuri killed the two thugs and threw their bodies in the trash. It was while he was killing those two opponents that he really felt alive and maybe even a little happy. It was the first time in what seemed like forever that he was able to finally let loose and stretch his muscles. This was the day he birthed his bloodlust.
Since then, Yuri decided to keep his murderous yearnings in check so he could climb the social ladder, only lashing out at those ye thought deserved it. When he did lash out, he made sure there weren’t witnesses or any leads that would show the blood on his hands.
To further burry his trail, he got married to a wonderful woman named Tess Locke. He even fell in love with her. She made his dark feelings run away into the night and brought Yuri peace of mind. That was until Tess decided that she didn’t love Yuri anymore and wanted a divorce. Yuri was broken and lost himself again. He even went as far as carving a smile into his other cheek to make it look as if he was permanently smiling.
But Tess was already gone and Yuri could never find her again.
Yuri Sokolov then joined the police forces of Taris to begin his regime of terror. While everyone knew Yuri as a simple detective, he was secretly posing. He used this distraction to hide his alter ego; The Overkill. A serial killer that couldn’t be caught. Yuri has no other end goal than to watch the galaxy burn- starting with Taris.
