BIOGRAPHY

Yuuta Graves was no one special.

A single child to a pair of kind-hearted traders, life blessed Yuuta with a happy childhood. At a young age he was grateful for being raised by a mother and a father who loved him, who provided for him more than he could ever ask for. They sent him to a good school and he repaid them by studying hard and striving to be a consistent honor student, even if he couldn't achieve being top of the class. The fact that he never neglected his studies were more than enough for his parents, only asking for him to truly enjoy learning and getting the grades he worked hard for and deserved.

Yuuta Graves was no one special.

He was seven years old when he met the love of his life. Marizo Okkotsu was only supposed to be a new neighbor, a new classmate. But Yuuta had been immediately drawn to the young girl's pretty smiles and bright laughter that reminded him of small, tinkling bells. Marizo was smart, quiet, and reserved, and Yuuta felt special that she chose him – out of a room full of other students and the other kids from the block – to be her best friend. Marizo made Yuuta special, and falling in love with the shy, quiet girl whose smiles shone brighter than the sun was an inevitability he never bothered running away from.

They were ten when they gave each other promise rings, vowing to marry one another when they grow up.

Yuuta Graves was no one special.

He left Lianna with his father to study on Coruscant at the age of twelve, leaving behind his mother and childhood sweetheart. It would have broken Yuuta's heart but his promise to his mother that he and father would return soon enough had kept him going and gave him strength. His promise and bond to Marizo emboldened him, wanting to protect the girl he loved. So Yuuta left, persevering on his studies and keeping contact with those he left on Lianna.

The training in the police academy he'd attended would have been unbearable had Yuuta not met a friend in the form of one Poet Severino. The two encouraged each other when one felt like giving up, and graduated with flying colors – with Poet being the second best in the class. Yuuta received minor honors but was supremely grateful for even passing and graduating. Rewards never mattered to him – not when he knew his parents and Mariko were proud of him.

He had discovered his Force-sensitivity while still in the academy. Poet referred Yuuta to the patriarch of the Severino household, Rudra, and asked his dad if he could teach his friend about the Force. Rudra offered Yuuta the chance to join the Jedi Order, and wasn't disheartened when the teen politely turned the offer down. Instead, Yuuta asked to be trained how to harness the abilities the Force would afford him, and Rudra was happy to comply.

Yuuta Graves was no one special.

At the age of 21, he married the love of his life. Three years later, he'd put what he learned – both from the academy and Jedi Knight Rudra Severino – to good use and joined the ISC Sector Rangers.

Yuuta Graves was no one special, but at least he knew that he had a purpose: to serve, defend, and protect. Not just his wife and his parents, but also the innocent who were powerless to rise against those who would oppress them.

Personality

To say that Yuuta is a compassionate man would be an understatement of the millenium, but that doesn't necessarily mean that he is incapable of anger, hatred, and any other negative emotions that can be held towards other sentients. Yuuta is kind only to those he deems worthy of receiving such, and even then he can still extend that same kindness to criminals – but only if they are truly repentant or never wanted to be involved in criminal dealings in the first place but were forced into by certain, inescapable circumstances.

Loud, energetic, talkative, and friendly nearly to a fault, Yuuta is helplessly extroverted by nature. However, he is still capable of showing shyness and anxiety when placed in embarrassing situations he cannot control. He is the type of person who will go out of his way to help old people cross the street or look for a missing grandchild, pet, or belongings. While he is mostly talkative, his wife's tact and quiet nature also rubbed off on him, so Yuuta knows how to handle delicate conversations and situations.

Sentients, be warned: Yuuta Graves is the type of husband who will always brag about how strong, kind, caring, awesome, and beautiful his wife is whenever a chance presents itself. Even more so when Marizo is with him. This typically ends up with Marizo apologizing for her husband's antics and behavior while the latter comically acts resmorseful, shy, and willing to receive any forms of rebuke or punishment to earn his wife's forgiveness.

Skills

Touken Ranbu – Yuuta considers himself a passable swordsman, having adapted Soresu (Form III) from Jedi Knight Rudra Severino when the latter taught him the ways of the lightsaber. Not having a lightsaber of his own since he was not a member of the Jedi Order, Yuuta has settled for mimicking the Jedi Knight's preferred form of lightsaber combat. He thinks it needs more refinement, however.

Fly Me to the Moon – While he may not be fit to be called an ace pilot, Yuuta is still capable of flying a ship. He mostly prefers flying a light courier or freighter than starfighters because he doesn't want to take his wife on dates offworld aboard a fighter craft, damn it! No fighting when his lady wife is around!

So I Started Blasting – A dab hand at a blaster, Yuuta prefers fighting long-range than melee, if only to lower the chances of getting injured or soundly defeated by his opponents. He also dreams of being a sniper, so he can be trusted to take the title and position whenever it is demanded of him.

The Force is with Me – Having been trained by Poet's Dad in the ways of the Light Side of the Force, Yuuta is capable of using certain abilities afforded to him by said Side. These include healing (though he still finds it difficult to do so and often needs deeper concentration to achieve), telekinesis, minor telepathy, and the popular Jedi Mind Trick. Yuuta also uses the Force to help plants grow quicker, as evidenced by the small garden he and his wife Mariko tended to on their home in Lianna.

Relationships

+ Byung-hun and Ligaya Graves – Yuuta's parents. He looks up to them both.
+ Marizo Graves, née Okkotsu – Yuuta's beloved wife. He'll do anything for her.
